Densidad celular corneal en pacientes sanos estudio in vivo por microscopía confocal / Keratic cellular thickness in healthy patients, in vivo study caused by confocal microscopy

RESUMEN

Se realizó una investigación observacional, descriptiva, longitudinal y prospectiva en el servicio de Oftalmología del Hospital Abel Santamaría Cuadrado en Pinar del Río, en el período de enero a diciembre del año 2011. El universo de estudio estuvo constituido por 64 pacientes sanos y la muestra coincidió con el universo de estudio. Se realizó microscopía confocal el primer día, a los 7 días, al mes, a los tres meses, seis meses y al año de inicio del estudio. Se emplearon métodos de estadística descriptiva por SPSS (Stadistical Product Service Solution) para el análisis de los resultados. El objetivo fue determinar la densidad de las células de la córnea en pacientes sanos, obteniéndose una densidad celular epitelial apical de 937 cél/mm2, densidad celular basal de 5665 cél/mm2, densidad celular estromal de 28,13 cél/mm3 y densidad celular endotelial de 2605 cel/mm2. Se concluyó que la densidad celular corneal por subcapas en pacientes cubanos no tuvo variaciones significativas durante un año(AU)

ABSTRACT

An observational, descriptive, longitudinal and prospective investigation was carried out at the Ophthalmology service of Abel Santamaría Cuadrado Hospital of Pinar del Río, from January to December, 2011. The universe of study was constituted by 64 healthy patients and the sample matched the universe. The confocal microscopy was made the first day, 7 days later, a month later, at the age of three and six months and a year after beginning the study. The SPSS (Stadistical Product Service Solution) methods of descriptive statistics were used for the analysis of the results. The study was carried out to determine the thickness of the cornea´s cells in healthy patients obtaining an apical epithelial cellular thickness of 937 cél/mm2, a basal cellular thickness of 5665 cél/mm2, a stromal cellular thickness of 28, 13 cél/mm3 and an endothelial cellular thickness of 2605 cel/mm2. The study concluded that corneal cellular thickness by sub-layers in Cuban patients did not present significant changes for one year(AU)
