RESUMEN

Este artículo describe el diagnóstico y manejo clínico de un paciente que acude a nuestra clínica odontológica para el retratamiento endodóncico en un incisivo central superior. En el examen radiográfico observamos imagen radiolúcida en los tejidos periapicales e imagen radioopaca en tercio apical del conducto compatible con obturación a retro de amalgama. Se procedió a la eliminación de la amalgama y colocación de hidróxido de calcio como medicación intraconducto, posteriormente se creó una barrera apical con el mineral trióxido agregado (MTA) y así obtener un sellado hermético del conducto (AU)

ABSTRACT

This article describes the diagnosis and clinical management of a patient who comes to our dental clinic for an endodontic retreatment of an upper central incisor. The radiographic examination shows radiolucence in the periapical tissue and a radiopaque image in the apical third of the canal compatible with amalgam filling. Analgam was removed from the apical third and calcium hydroxide was used as an intracanal medication, later was created an apical barrier with the mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), to obtain a hermetic seal of the root canal´s therefore concluded that the additives used in both materials do not interfere with the biocompatibility; they may be noticeable in clinical situations (AU)
