Ventilación mecánica en UCIP: año 2006 / Mechanic ventilation in the pediatric intensive care unit: year 2006

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de la ventilación mecánica en niños ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátrico (UCIP) del Hospital Provincial Docente Dr Antonio Luaces Iraola en el año 2006 (330), para la realización del mismo se utilizaron como fuentes de información las historias clínicas y el libro de registro de la sala. Los datos obtenidos se procesaron manualmente, se analizaron por medidas de frecuencias y se presentaron en tablas estadísticas, obteniéndose los siguientes resultados: el 4.2 porciento recibieron ventilación mecánica, el grupo de edad más frecuente ventilado fue el de menor de un año 6.3 porciento, proceden el 28.5 porciento del cuerpo de guardia, salas hospitalarias y el Hospital de Morón respectivamente, el 75 porciento llegaron en estado crítico; la morbilidad que se ventila más frecuentemente son las afecciones quirúrgicas 42porciento, las sepsis 28.6 porciento y las afecciones respiratorias 14.3 porciento, recibieron tratamiento ventilatorio por más de 72 horas el 64.3 porciento; el bloqueo aéreo, la neumonía nosocomial 28.5 porciento y la hemorragia pulmonar más distress 14.2 porciento fueron las principales complicaciones.

ABSTRACT

There has been done a descriptive observational study with the purpose to determine the behaviour of mechanic ventilation in admitted children in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) of General Hospital Dr Antonio Luaces Iraola in 2006 (330), to do this study there were used as information sources the medical records and registry book of the unit. The obtained information was processed manually,there was analized by frequency messures and presented in statistical tables, arriving to the following results: the 4,2 percent recieved mechanic ventilation, the most frequent ventilated age group was the one under a year old 6,3 percent, the 28,5 percent comes from guard corps, hospital wards and Moron hospital respectively, the 75 percent arrive in critical stage; the morbidity that is more frequent ventilated is the surgical conditions 42 percent,the sepsis 28,6 percent and respiratory conditions 14,3 percent, recieved ventilated treatment for more than 72 hours the 64,3 percent; air block, the nosocomial pneumonia 28,5 percent and pulmonar bleeding distress 14,2 percent were the main compications.
