ABSTRACT
This paper offers an intersubjective interpretation of Winnicott´s text The use of an object and relating through identifications. From this perspective it seems that at least three intersubjective templates can be discerned, with different forms of otherness in each, that have also been discerned by philosophy starting with Hegel´s dialectic of the master and the slave which finishes with mutual recognition at the end of history. It ends by proposing a relation of supplementarity between these intersubjective templates
