The system of registration of births and deaths in Manchester and its likely effects on the control of communicable diseases

ABSTRACT

Some of the more significant areas of weakness in the system of registration of births have been identified in this study. It would seem that these areas of weakness in the system have been adversely affecting the function of registrars, and this could retard the effective control of communicable diseases within the parish.
