RESUMO

Esse artigo se propõe a tomar a autobiografia de uma autista, considerada "de alto funcionamento", na intenção de interrogar se os estudos sobre o autismo indicam que pouquíssimos autistas conseguem entrar na escola secundária, e muitos menos ainda chegam à universidade; o que teria levado esse sujeito autista a cursar a universidade, a fazer carreira acadêmica como pesquisadora, a obter o título de doutor e a se tornar uma autoridade mundial no campo de atividade que escolheu exercer? Seria esse um caso de "autismo de alto funcionamento?" Haveria aqui um erro diagnóstico?(AU)
