ABSTRACT

Incarcerated inguinal hernia was the commonest surgical emergency of infancy seen by the author during a three year period (1957-1960)A diagnosis of inguinal hernia had been made previously in almost 80 per cent of these casesA plea is made that all physicians encountering infant inguinal hernia insist that these patients have early elective repair.
