ABSTRACT

Family planning has been used by individuals and couples since time immemorial to solve community; individual and familial problems. Although Family Planning has been in existance for millinnia; this common concept remains largely misunderstood. The commonest mistake is to equate it to birth control. Nearly all the vernacular translations of the concept lean towards the idea of prevention of conception. Yet the development of mechanical or chemical methods to prevent conception or bring it about has a long history and man has only striven to perfect it
