High fertility and declining mortality have combined to give Malawi a high population growth; currently estimated at 3.7 per cent per annum. To understand the dynamics of prevailing high fertility this study has examined selected socio-economic and demographic deternimants of family size among married females using data obtained from the Family Formation Survey
