Monography in English | AIM | ID: biblio-1275275

ABSTRACT
This manual was compiled in response to findings from a Workshop held in Zimbabwe in January 1992; at which representatives from Non-Governmental Organisations working in the AIDS sector identified an urgent need to develop and strengthen communication skills in AIDS education and prevention. The content was developed through field trials and a participatory process of evaluation in which representatives from Non-Governmental Organisations throughout Zimbabwe actively participated. The manual is divided into four parts. Part One provides background information for the trainer; while Parts Two and Three contain ideas; activities and resources which are designed to foster improvedcommunication among adults about AIDS. The manual concludes with a section about participatory methods for evaluation. Each Part shows step-by-step; how different training methods can be used to assist adults to assess their understanding of AIDS; how existing information can be increased through a partnership between the learner and the trainer; and how problem solving and decision making can be encouraged
