ABSTRACT
A four-year study of tetanus was initiated in 1988 at the Peoples' Medical College Hospital, Nawabshah. The records of 72 patients admitted during a period of almost 4 years were reviewed. They included 48 [66.67%] males, and 24 [33.33%] females; all the males, and all but 7 females, belonged to the rural areas. Tracheostomy was performed for respiratory assistance, but no case was subjected to total paralysis regimen because of lack of facilities of artificial positive pressure respiration [APPR]. A total of 29 [40.27%] patients expired

Fifteen patients of simple vesicovaginal fistula underwent closure by traditional methods with a few modifications over a period of 5 years. They included nine cases of high type and 6 of low type; the age of patients ranged between 22-80 years. Repair was successful in 7 of the 9 cases with high fistulae and 5 of 6 with low fistulae
