ABSTRACT

Skeletal abnormalities in renal osteodystrophy include osteomalacia osteosclerosis, cortical and subperiosteal bony erosions, abnormal bony texture [rarefaction], bone deformities and brown tumour. On the other hand soft tissue calcifications are another prominent feature of chronic renal diseases. They may be present in vessels subcutaneus tissue and viscera [heart, lungs, and kidneys]. Large globular periarticular calcifications may also be seen. Sixteen patients with chronic renal failure with secondary bony and soft tissue changes are discussed thoroughly in this series

ABSTRACT

Dysmorphic lung is a term introduced to describe any congenital malformation in the form of hypoplasia of right lung with anomalous venous drainage and systemic arterial supply of variable degree. The scimitar anomaly is the commonest type of this condition. However, the syndrome is extended to include cases where one of the triad is absent. Our own experience in eight cases with dysmorphic right lung is presented and carefully discussed

ABSTRACT

Pulmonary sareoidosis is one of the most common causes of broncho-pulmonary [hilar] adenopathy. Many of the pathological Processes inside the chest involve the mediastinal lymph nodes. Mediastinal anh broncho-pulmonary diseases involving the lymphatic system often present considerable diagnostic difficulties. Mediastinoscopy is the diagnostic mean of choice in the diseases of the mediastinal lymphatic system. In this work the radiological findings met within Pulmonary sarcoidosis and the mediastinoscopic tissue biopsy results are studied and correlated
