ABSTRACT
Objective To understand the colonization status of Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae in nasopharynx of healthy infants in Wuhan. Methods Six vaccination clinics were randomly selected, and the nasopharyngeal specimens of healthy infants were collected and cultured for Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenza. Results The carrying rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae in 998 healthy infants was 18.84% and 17.54%, respectively. The carrying rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae within 6 months of age was 15.79% and 14.39%, and the carrying rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae at 7-12 months old was 22.90% and 21.73%, respectively. The difference was statistically significant (Sp: χ2=5.60 P=0.02; Hi：χ2=8.98 P=0.00); The carrying rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae in urban and suburban areas was 18.08% and 19.78%, respectively, and the Haemophilus influenzae carrying rate was 17.18% and 17.98%, respectively. The differences were not statistically significant (Sp：χ2=0.47 P=0.50; Hi：χ2=0.11 P=0.74). The correlation coefficient (r value) of the age of the month and the carrying rate of sp and hi was 0.98 and 0.96, respectively. Conclusion The age of healthy infants in Wuhan was highly linearly and positively correlated with the carrying rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenza.
ABSTRACT
Objective To analyze the efficacy and safety of HAA induction regimen consisted of homoharringtonine (HHT),cytarabine (Ara-C) and aclacinomycin (ACM) in naive and refractory relapsed acute myeloid leukemia.Methods Data from 66 acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cases hospitalized and treated with HAA induction regimen was analyzed retrospectively.Results 45 of the 66 cases suffered from naive AML,and 21 were refractory relapsed.HAA efficacy in naive AML was evaluated in 41 cases with 36 in complete remission (CR) and 1 in partial remission (PR).The efficiency of HAA induction regimen was 90.2 ％ (37/41)in naive AML group and 42.9 ％ (9/21) in refractory relapsed group,respectively.There were no differences (P ＞ 0.05) when considering patient' s gender,age,disease subtype and white blood cell count at onset.14 patients in CR with naive AML were followed-up for a median time of 9 months (2-17 months),and 5 cases relapsed (35.7 ％) in a range of 2-8 months.The median myelosuppression period was 14 days (3-23 days).Nausea and vomiting [20 ％ (13/66)] were the major side effects of HAA regimen,and the other side effects were abdominal pain and diarrhea [9 ％ (6/66).After chemotherapy,53 ％ (35/66) of the cases experienced infection/fever due to neutropenia.Other severe non-hematological side effects did not occur.Conclusion HAA regimen may be an ideal choice for the induction chemotherapy of naive and relapsed refractory AML.
ABSTRACT
<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the chemical constituents of Xanthium mongolicum.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>The compounds were isolated with column chromatography. The structures were determined by spectroscopic techniques.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>Eight compounds were isolated from X. mongolicum, four compounds are sesquiterpene lactones, two compounds are triterpenes and two compounds are lignins. Their structure elucidated as xanthatin (1), xanthinosin (2), 11alpha, 13-dihydroxanthatin (3), atractylenolide III (4), oleanolic acid (5), ursolic acid (6), lignocellulose (7), balanophonin (8).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Compounds 3-8 were isolated from this plant for the first time. Sesquiterpene lactones (1-3) had shown the induction hindrance activeness of the (ICAM-1), but the activitiy of 3 was weaker.</p>
