Memória, identidade e comensalidade: a feijoada da família portelense / Memory, identity and comensality: the feijoada of the portelense family

Analisa-se o agenciamento da memória coletiva e os processos de reconstrução e representação do passado de uma das principais escolas de samba do Rio de Janeiro ­a Portela ­por meio de um rito comensal: a feijoada da família portelense. Esta é promovida regularmente por representantes da ala de compositores dessa escola de samba. Examinam-se diversos aspectos que singularizam este evento de comensalidade: seu sistema culinário, seu modo de organização, seus conteúdos afetivos, os processos de identificação e de corporalidade lá produzidos. Os procedimentos de coletas de dados foram: revisão bibliográfica, entrevistas semiestruturadas e etnografia. No que tange aos resultados, infere-se que o processo de construção da identidade portelense é uma marca social de distinção cujos principais esteios são: memória do passado da agremiação, considerado cheio de glórias e vitórias e o compartilhamento de práticas ditas tradicionais como rodas de sambas e feijoadas.

We analyze the agency of collective memory and the processes of reconstruction and representation of the past of one of Rio de Janeiro's main samba schools ­Portela ­through a commensal rite: the feijoada of the Portelense family. This rite is regularly promoted by representatives of the composers of the samba school. Several aspects that characterize this event of commensality are examined: its culinary system, its mode of organization, its affective contents, the processes of identification and corporality produced there. The procedures for data collection were: bibliographic review, semi-structured interviews and ethnography. Regarding the results, it is inferred that the process of the identity of being Portelense is a social mark of distinction whose main pillars are: memory of the past of the association, that is considered full of glory and victories, and the sharing of so-called traditional practices such as events with sambas and feijoadas.

Os estudos cognitivos da memória de Jean Piaget e Barbel Inhelder / Jean Piaget and Barbel Inhelder's cognitive studies of memory

O objetivo do artigo é revisitar um tema que inadequadamente é considerado secundário nos estudos piagetianos, a saber: a memória. Nosso foco será revitalizar textos sobre esta temática produzidos por Jean Piaget e colaboradores, principalmente Barbel Inhelder, como os livros Intelligence et Mémoire e L'image mentale chez l'enfant. Para além de sua importância histórica, estes textos são intelectualmente instigantes de diversas maneiras. Primeiro, eles propõem uma teoria geral da memória, que está coordenada com outros conceitos da epistemologia genética, tais quais: imagem mental e esquemas operativos. Ademais, em nossa hipótese, esses textos são contribuições importantes para os estudos da memória. Assim, este artigo considera que as teses de Piaget são ainda atuais e podem contribuir para o entendimento da memória humana.(AU)

The aim of this paper is to revisit a topic, which is inadequately considered secondary in Piagetian researches: the memory. We propose to rediscuss some texts produced on this theme by Jean Piaget and collaborators, mainly Barbel Inhelder, such as _Intelligence et Mémoire' and _Mental image in children'. Besides its historical importance, these texts are thought-provoking in many ways. First, they propose a general theory of memory, which is coordinated with other concepts of genetic epistemology, particularly: mental image and operating schemes. Moreover, in our hypothesis, these texts provide Piaget's practical contribution to the memory studies. Thus, this paper considers the Piagetian theses are still up-to-date and can contribute to the studies of memory.(AU)

O Brasil é a terra do pandeiro: um estudo das contribuições de diferentes expressões artísticas para a representação do samba e do carnaval como ícones nacionais / Brazil is the land of the tambourine: a study of contributions of different artistic expressions for the representation of samba and Carnival as national icons

Nos estudos sobre a festa do Carnaval e a sobre a construção da Identidade Nacional na década de 1930, é comum a citação ao dirigismo cultural getulista, às ideologias de branqueamento, bem como à valorização da mestiçagem nesse período. A proposta deste artigo é trazer à baila como produções artísticas e culturais, como rádio, cinema, e o teatro de revista, pouco estudadas pela literatura histórica e antropológica, contribuíram para popularizarem e transformarem o samba e o carnaval como referências basilares para a construção da identidade brasileira. Outrossim, refletimos sobre a manutenção e atualização dessas comemorações coletivas através do tempo. (AU)

In many researches on Carnival and on the construction of national identity in the 1930s, it is common to quote President Vargas? cultural dirigism, whitening ideologies as well as mestizaje appreciation in that period. This article aims to highlight how cultural and artistic productions, such as radio, movies, and theater magazine, little studied by historical and anthropological literature, helped to transform and to popularize samba and carnival as reference blocks for the construction of the Brazilian identity. Furthermore, the article reflects on the maintenance and the updating of these collective celebrations through time.(AU)
