ABSTRACT

Extraction and fraction of the aerial parts of C. bruguierana afforded cnicin, 11,13-dehydromelitensin 8 alpha-acetate and the three 6-methoxyflavone derivatives cirsilineol, cirsimaritin and hispidulin 7-0-rutinoside. Identification of the isolated materials was established mainly by spectral as well as chemical methods

ABSTRACT

The inhibitory activity of the protein-tyrosine kinase was tested on different extracts of Ononis sicula Guss. [Leguminosae]. Four known flavonoids; namely, pseudobaptigenin, eupatilin, jaceosidin and hispidulin, were isolated from the active 90% methanol extract. Hispidulin was found to be the most active with IC50-6 mu g/ml

ABSTRACT

The powdered aerial parts of Kickxia aegyptiaca [Dum.] Nabelek [Scrophulariaceae] afforded four flavonoidal compounds; namely, pectolinarigenin, pectrolinarigenin-7-0-robinobioside, pectolinarigenin-7-0-rutinoside and its 4"' acetate derivative. Their identification was established by UV, PMR, 13C-NMR and MS as well as by acid hydrolysis and the comparison of sugars with authentic samples
