ABSTRACT

A simple and rapid method for dosage calculation in patients with renal impairment by the aid of computer is described. This method is based on the linear relationship between creatinine clearance [ml/min] and the constant renal elimination rate [Km]. This good correlation between creatinine clearance and creatinine concentration allows the direct prediction of drug dosage from estimation of serum creatinine concentration. In this paper we can calculated drug and creatinine clearance [ml/min] for some important drugs like antibiotics, antihypertensive and hypoglycemic drugs and can determine the drug dosage for patients suffering from renal insufficiency or renal failure

ABSTRACT

Mixed ligand complex of cobalt[II] with glycinate ion [gly] and trimethyl amine [tma], Co[gly]2 [tma]2], has been isolated from aqueous medium. Characterization of the complex was carried out by elemental analysis, solubility, thin layer chromatography, molar conductance, magenetic susceptibility and infrared spectral measurment. The biological effect of this complex on albino mice was studied through determination of its toxicity, measuring its analgesia and negative geotaxis and its metabolic effects. Co[gly]2 [tma]2 showed an increase in blood glucose and cholesterol and decrease in heart protein. This new complex showed some biological effects, especially its analgesia and negative geotaxis effects beside the different metabolic parameters
