ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effect of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on photoaging skin of rat. Methods F344 rats were used as model animals and skin photoaging model was established by UV irradiation. The model animals were divided into 5 groups:group A was injected with activated PRP (A-PRP);group B was injected with inactive PRP (N-PRP);group C was injected with normal saline;group D was irradiated only with UV;Four weeks after the injection, the appearance and histological characteristics of the rat's skin were evaluated. Results Compared with group C and group D,the wrinkles and skin color in group A and group B were significantly improved.Histological observation showed that the histological features of group A and group B were significantly better than that of group C and D (P<0.01).The thickness of dermis in group A was higher than that in group B (P<0.05).There was no significant difference between groups C and D (P>0.05).The thickness of dermis in group E was significantly higher than that in group C (P<0.01).Conclusions Injection of PRP can improve the appearance and histological features of photo-aged skin in rats.A-PRP is better than N-PRP.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Hypertrophic scar is common in burn patients, but treating result could not meet the expectation of the patients and doctors. We have found that certain concentration level of lipopolysaccharide [LPS] stimulated normal fibroblast cells have statistically similar with fibroblast cells from hypertrophic scar on the phenotype level, and with this work we are trying to figure out which Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase [MAPK] is affected and how it is affected

Methods: Experiments were conducted in May, 2017 at the first affiliated hospital of the Chinese PLA General Hospital, Beijing, China. We have cultured the cell line of human skin fibroblast cells and randomly divided cells into four groups: control group and three stimulation groups. We have rebuilt the LPS stimulated model of skin fibroblast cells in hypertrophic scar based on our previous work. Experimental groups were stimulated with 0.1ug/mL LPS concentration for 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours, respectively. Then we performed western blot analysis of Erk, p-Erk, JNK, p-JNK, p38 and p-p38. We performed statistical analysis with SPSS 15.0

Results: LPS can up regulate the MAPK/p38 pathway [p<0.05] and down regulate the MAPK/Erk and MAPK/ JNK pathways [p<0.05]. The changes of phosphorylated protein are time-related, with longer stimulation duration, significant difference is increased [p<0.05]

Conclusion: MAPKs can play an important role in the formation of hypertrophic scar in the skin. Early intervention through the MAPKs could be a promising target in the prevention of the formation of hypertrophic scar

ABSTRACT

In recent years, pharmacological researches of Chinese medicine found that single Chinese medicines of tonifying kidney, such as epimedium, psoralen, eucommia, dipsacus, cistanche, velvet, curculigo and cynomorium had very good effects of resisting osteoporosis, significantly improving the bone mineral density (BMD) and bone mineral content (BMC) , promoting hone formation, and preventing bone absorption. Based on the documentations from home and abroad, the overview had analyzed the current situation for providing new ideas and methods of osteoporosis prevention and treatment.

ABSTRACT

[Objective]To investigate diagnosis of lumbar instability, segment of spinal canal decompression and principle of fixation and fusion.[Method]158 cases of degnenerative lumbar instability from Feb 2001 and Oct 2006 in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively, the patients were operated with posterior decompression, instrumentation with pedicle screw and interbody or inter-transverse fusion.Patients all were examined with lumbar radiographys of lateral flexion and extension and with lumbar CT befor operation,Patients began to walk after operation one week,6 months later, restore to normal activities.[Result]The preoperative spinal canal area was 56~114 mm2,averaged 74 mm2,the postoperative spinal canal area 204~296 mm2,averaged 221 mm2.The patients were followed up from 6 months to 5 years(averaged 2 years and 5 months). The score was evaluated according to the JOA score. The preoperative score was averaged 3.7,the postoperative score was averaged 13.2,the improving rate was averaged 85%.108 case excellent,46 good,3 fairand 1 bad,The excellent and good rate was 97.5% in this group.[Conclusion]The spinal stability can be effectively maintained and reconstructed by decompression of spinal canal and instrumentation with pedicle screw system and fusion, which is a good method for treating Degnenerative instability of lumbar spine.
