ABSTRACT

Ninty patients were selected to study the effect of Halothane, Enflurane and lsoflurane on the middle ear pressure and the time required to achieve the pressure changes. The data were recorded by using an inter acoustics impedance audiometer model A 77. The results show that enflurane achieved faster pressure change in the ear than the other agents

ABSTRACT

This comparative study includes the effect of two inhalational agents, namely halothane and isofulrane, on the middle ear pressure in sixty patients with normal middle ear function. The effect of both agents on the middle ear pressure and the duration required to achieve these changes are seen in Fig. 1 and Tables 2,3. It appeared that there were no significant differences between halothane and isoflurane effects in regard to pressure changes and to the time required to achieve these changes. This research was done by a financial grant from the Deanship of the Scientific research, University of Jordan

ABSTRACT

Fourty seven children were selected to study the effect of enflurane and isoflurane on the middle ear pressure and the time required to achieve the pressure changes. The data was recorded by using an Interacoustics impedance audiometer model AZ7. From the results of this study, it appeared that Isoflurane is the least unsatisfactory agent to use in middle ear and tympanic cavity surgery

ABSTRACT

From 1979 to 1985, sickle cell haemoglobinopathy was studied among U.A.E. armed forces personnel and their families. Eight thousand two hundred and ninety-five [8295] cases were screened, of which 217 cases were shown to have haemoglobinopathy, representing 2.6%. Problems of anaesthesia and their management in those patients are reviewed
