ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the process of apoptosis in lungs and liver induced by crushing hindlimbs of rat, and study the mechanism of crush injury.@*METHODS@#The rat experimental model of hindlimbs crush injury was established. The cell apoptosis in lungs and liver was detected by TUNEL assay, and the expression of Bax, Bcl-2 and caspase-3 apoptin was examined by immunohistochemistry.@*RESULTS@#Compared with the control group, the partial muscle injury of rat's hindlimbs was more serious with more apoptosis observed in lungs and liver (P < 0.05). The expression of Bax was up-regulated and Bcl-2 was down-regulated, whereas caspase-3 expression was activated (P < 0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The cell apoptosis has increased significantly in lungs and liver after crush injury of hindlimbs in rat. The correlation factor released during tissue injury may mediate apoptosis process.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore and analyze the cognitive quality of professional divers.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>165 professional divers were tested with Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM), 80.8 Neural Type Measuring Form, etc. with 230 common people, 49 sailors and 66 trainee divers as control.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>There were significant difference among professional divers of different ages in the type of nerve activity, cognitive style, action stability, memory span, time reaction, the perception of space, act of attention and dark adaptation (P < 0.05); Over all, the cognitive quality of professional divers did not differ significantly in education level or working years (P < 0.05); Professional divers were superior to the common people in depth perception, cognitive style, act of attention, action stability, the perception of space and dark adaptation, but inferior to them in intelligence, memory span and time reaction (P < 0.05); There were significant difference in such cognitive indicators as the type of nerve activity, depth perception, kinesthetic memory, cognitive style, the perception of space and dark adaptation (P < 0.05); Compared with the trainee divers, professional divers were significantly better in the type of nerve activity, cognitive style, act of attention, action stability and the perception of space (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>As a specified profession, diving needs some particular cognitive quality, while the profession itself would affect professional divers' cognitive ability to a certain extent.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the effect of tooth preparation design on fitness of CAD/CAM all-ceramic coping crown.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The tooth preparation comprised 2 types of occlusal convergence (10 degrees, 20 degrees), 2 margin forms (shoulder, chamfer). The MC coping were milled by Cerec 2 CAD/CAM system, cemented, embedded, sectioned, and measured at 10 sites to obtain the data of margin, shoulder, axial surface, occlusal surface fitness.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The coping's fitness was influenced by convergence angle and margin form. The coping's fitness was very nice (101.7 approximately 127.9) microm when the coping with 20 degrees occlusal convergence angle. Those coping with 20 degrees occlusal convergence and chamfer margin in tooth preparation provided the best fitness, its cement film thickness in margin was (40.1 +/- 11.8) microm.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The 20 degrees occlusal convergence and chamfer margin can be used for CAD/CAM all-ceramic crown in clinical application.</p>
