ABSTRACT

With a comparison between the Non-paper Test model and the traditional one in pharmacology test, an objective analysis was made about the strengths and weaknesses of two test models. This practice shows that the paperless examination can promote teaching and help to improve the teaching quality, but need to be further improved.

ABSTRACT

Background and purpose:Many studies indicate that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs) may inhibit cancer growth. However, the molecular mechanisms may involve different pathway and still remain unclear. The aim of this experiment was to investigate the influence of aspisol against breast cancer lines, including MDA-MB-231(estrogen receptor-negative),MCF-7(estrogen receptor-positive),and reveal the potential signaling pathway mechanism of aspisol effect on breast cancer lines.Methods:MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 human breast cancer cell lines were treated with aspisol in vitro.Cell proliferation was evaluated by MTT assay and rate of apoptosis were determined by flow cytometry.Extracellular signal regulated kinase(ERK),phosphor-ERK(P-ERK) protein expressed in breast cancer cell lines were analyzed by Western blot.Results:①The results of MTT assay demonstrated that the growth of MDA-MB-231,MCF-7 cells were inhibited by aspisol in a time-and dose-dependent fashion(P0.05).Conclusions:aspisol inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis not only in ER-positive but also in ER-negative breast cancer cells. The mechanism may relate to ERK signal pathway.

ABSTRACT

AIM To observe the protective effects of TGP on local cerebral ischemia. METHODS The local cerebral ischemia in rat was made by middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO). The infraction weight was determined by NBT stain. SOD, MDA and apoptosis were determined with different method respectively. RESULTS TGP 20 mg*kg-1 ip markedly improved the abnormal nervous symptoms, increased the SOD activity and reduced contentes of MDA in MCAO rat. TGP 20 mg*kg-1 ip significantly decreased the numbers of apoptotic cells in ischemic cortex. CONCLUSION TGP has protective effects against cerebral infarction, and its mechanism may be related to anti-apoptosis and free radical.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effect of Bingdouting capsule(BC)on rabbit model of sick sinus syndrome. Methods Rabbit models of sick sinus syndrome were established by external application of 20 % methanal on the region of sinoatrial node. The effect of BC on heart rate and electrophysicological parameters of sinoatrial node was observed. Results BC markedly increased the heart rate, shortened the sinoatrial conduction time(SACT)and corrected sinoatrial node recovery time(CSNRT).Conclusion BC has an obvious effect for the treatment of sick sinus syndrome in rabbits.

ABSTRACT

AIM To study the protective effect of total glucosides of paeony(TGP)on complete cerebral ischemia reporfusion injury and its mechanism of action.METHODS A complete cerebral ischemia[FQ(10。46,X-WZ]- reperfusion model of rats was induced by clipping three arteries. The changes in eye colour, SOD activity, MDA contents and histopathological characteristics were observed. RESULTS TGP (TGP 10、20、40 mg?kg -1 ) markedly reduced the change of eye colour; TGP(20 mg?kg -1 ) obviously elevated SOD activity decreased and inhibited the MDA of increased contents of cerebral cortex, hippocampus and corpus striatum of cerebral ischemia reperfusion in rats; TGP(20 mg?kg -1 )possessed protective effects on the histopathological changes of ischemia cerebral tissues in rats. CONCLUSION TGP possessed obvious protective effects on the cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury, suggesting that the protective action of TGP is relative to anti-oxidative action.-

ABSTRACT

Antiinf lammatory effects of Ferulofen ( FL ) were shown by im or ip on xylene-induced swellingof mice ear, carrageenin produced edema of hind paw in rats, and decreased volume of pleural exud- ate on carrageenin-induced acute pleurisy of rats, FL also inhibi-tied the proliferating granuloma by croton oil. The above dose r-ange in 50-100mg/kg im or ip which presented a good dose-effect relationship, FL also inhibited the mice writhing caused by H AC & tail-flick response to 1 light irradiation, suggesting its strong analgesic effect. In addition, its anticancer effect in vitro ( carcinoma of Ehlrich ascitis)was better than that in vivo ( Sl80 sarcoma) in mouse. So FL may be considered to be a promising new type of non-steroidal antiinflammatory & anticancer drug ,worthy of further reseaching & exploring in the future.

ABSTRACT

AIM To observe the antiproliferative action of heparin on breast cancer cell MCF 7. METHODS Human breast cancer cells MCF 7 and MDA MB 231 were cultured and cell number was counted. RESULTS Heparin(40 mg?L -1 ) inhibited obviously the growth of MCF 7, this inhibition was under influence of serum. CONCLUSION Heparin can inhibit the proliferation of cultured MCF 7 in the presence of serum.

ABSTRACT

Ferulof en ( FL, 45mg and 200mg/kg im ) showed marked antipyretic effect on rabbit fever induced by typho-paratyhoid vaccine and on rat fever induced by yeast powder suspension respectively. Their potency and action phase were similar to those of aspirin ( 35mg and 100mg/kg) . Furthermore, it blocked the action potential of sciatic nerve in toad to some extent and had a certain local anesthetic effect on guinea pigs in intradermic wheal test, but much weaker than procaine and lidocaine at the same concentration. It had no obvious influence on corneal reflex in rabbits. It can be concluded from these findings that together with the results of previous paper the findings of this paper further indicated FL may be proved to be a new antiinflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic drug.
