ABSTRACT
CHARGE association is an increasingly recognized non-random clustering of congenital malformations. We present a baby with readily recognizable clinical features that lead to a prompt diagnosis of CHARGE association. The baby also had a schizencephaly which makes us ponder that this could very well be a neural crest migratory disorder stressing the need for an expanded classification of [neurocrestopathies]. The recently recommended diagnostic criteria of CHARGE association are also reviewed

An epignathus is an extremely rare form of oropharyngeal teratoma that arises from the oral cavity, most commonly from the palate and is associated with a high mortality secondary to airway obstruction in the neonatal period. We present a preterm baby with a giant epignathus in whom airway was secured by an emergency tracheostomy after a caesarean section. The baby expired eleven and a half hours after birth. We discuss the multidisciplinary planned approach in the management of such an extremely rare teratoma
