ABSTRACT

A 38-year-old female presented with irregular menstruation and hirsutism that started at age of 16 and diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome at age of 29 with elevated testosterone. When treated with ethinestradiol cyproterone tablets, her menstruation returned to normal and androgen levels was not changed. At age of 38 she was referred to the hospital with infertility, a diagnosis of nonclassical 21-hydroxylase deficiency was confirmed using 17-hydroxyprogesterone, dehydroepiandrosterone-sulfate, a cosyntropin-stimulation test and genetic test. This case suggested that nonclassical congenital adrenal hyperplasia should be considered when a patient is presented with oligomenorrhea, hirsutism with hyperandrogenemia and infertility.

ABSTRACT

The clinical data of 103 patients with type 2 diabetes (diabetic group) and 111 diabetic patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI) admitted from August 2016 to October 2017 were reviewed and 101 health subjects served as normal controls (group NC).The examination results of carotid ultrasound, serum uric acid (SUA) levels and blood biochemistry were compared among three groups. The results show that SUA in diabetic patients with ACI was significantly higher (P < 0.01).The correlation analysis showed that SUA was positively correlated with intimal medial thickness (IMT) of carotid artery, diabetes with ACI (r=0.521 and 0.489,P <0.01).Logistic regression analysis showed that SUA was an independent risk factor for diabetes with ACI (OR =1.012,95% CI:1.007-1.017,P < 0.01).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that high SUA and systemic blood pressure (SBP) were independent risk factors of increased IMT.Logistic regression analysis showed that SUA was an independent risk factor for vulnerable carotid plaques (OR =1.052,95% CI:1.039-1.065,P <0.01).

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the anti-tumor and hypoxia regulatory effect of HIF-1?siRNA in tumor tissues. Methods:The HIF-1?siRNA adenovirus vectors targeting HIF-1?were constructed and the rabbit VX2 tumor model was established. The constructed vectors were injected into rabbits through ear vein;noninterference sequence was injected as control.PET(positron emission computed tomography)was used to observe the changes of hypoxia and necrosis in tumor tissues. The tumors were removed and the tumor volumes were measured.H-E staining was used to observe the degree of the necrosis;RT-PCR was used to detect the change of HIF-1?expression in tumor tissues. Results:The recombinant HIF-1?siRNA adenovirus vectors were successfully constructed, with a titre of 1.1?10~(10)pfu/mL.PET imaging showed that the SUV of ~(18)F-FDG was significantly decreased in HIF-1?siRNA injected group than that in the control group ([3.51?0.36]%vs[8.73?0.83]%,P
