ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the value of IL-1 β and IL-18 in predicting the prognosis of patients with RA-IP.Methods One hundred and five patients diagnosed as RA-IP were involved and their baseline information were recorded.Then,all of the 105 patients were followed-up for 1 year and divided into two groups according to the outcomes of follow-up.The poor prognosis rate of patients was showed by survival curves.Single factor analysis and multiple factors Cox's model analysis were applied to evaluate the influencing degree of factors affecting the prognosis of RA-IP.Meanwhile,the difference of the selected factors of two groups was analyzed and the sensitivity and specificity of the factors in predicting prognosis of patients were calculated by ROC curves.Results The results of single factor analysis and multiple factors Cox's model analysis showed that RF-IgM IL-1 β and IL-18 had influence on the prognosis of patients with RA-IP and IL-1β was the most influential factor (RR =1.624).Compared with those in the favorable group,IL-1 β,IL-18,and the positive numbers of RF-IgM (x2 =4.152,P =0.042) in the unfavorable group were higher.The ROC analysis showed that the AUC of IL-1 β was the highest,and the sensitivity and specificity were 55.9% and 86.2%,respectively.Conclusion IL-1 β may assess the prognosis of patients with RA-IP.

ABSTRACT

AIM:To investigate the effects of nodosin extracted from Chinese traditional medicine on the pro-liferation of HepG2 cells cultured in vitro and to detect the protein expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in HepG2 cells.METH-ODS:HepG2 cells were treated with different concentrations (1.25, 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 μmol/L) of nodosin for 24 h. The morphological changes of HepG2 cells were observed under inverted microscope.The inhibitory rates of HepG2 cell growth were detected by MTT assay.The apoptotic rates and the protein expression of Bcl-2 and Bax were analyzed by flow cytometry.RESULTS:Shrunken and suspended HepG2 cells increased with the increases in the concentrations of nodo-sin.The apoptotic rates and the expression of Bax increased with the increases in the doses of nodosin, while the expression of Bcl-2 decreased.CONCLUSION:Nodosin inhibits the growth of HepG2 cells in a dose-dependent manner.The inhibi-tion of HepG2 cell growth is induced by decreasing Bcl-2 and increasing Bax, thus promoting cell apoptosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the relationship between social support and quality of life in surgical patients with breast cancer. Methods Quality of life and social support status of 78 patients with breast cancer were evaluated by FACT-B and SSRS,and their correlation analysis was carried out Results The scores of emotional status and functional well - being in the aspact of life quality were lower (9.10±3.99,12.81 ±7.99) for patients with breast cancer, while total score of social support (36.93 ± 6.42) was higher than the average (34.56 ± 3.73). Life quality of breast cancer patients in terms of physiological condition, social/family status and emotional status were significantly positively related with total score of social support. Conclusions Social support was an important factor affecting the quality of life in breast cancer patients. Nurses should pay more attention to and make full use of social support resources of patients, in order to improve and enhance patients' quality of life through a variety of interventions.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the major chemical composition in rhizome of Pterocypsela elata and explore the activity of lactuside B against brain ischemia.Methods The compounds were isolated and purified by silica gel column chromatography and elucidated by spectroscopic experiments;The model of partial brain ischemia was used to detect water content,MDA and SOD levels in brain tissue in order to observe the activity of lactuside B against brain ischemia.Results Ten compounds were obtained and established as lactuside B(1),11?,13-dihydrolactucin acetate(2),?-sitosterol(3),daucosterol(4),(24R)-5?-stigrnast-7,22(E)-dien-3?-ol(5),3,3',4-trimethoxylellagic acid(6),?-amyrin(7),oleanolic acid(8),n-hexacosanic acid(9),and stearic acid(10).Lactuside B was a key component,and it's yield was 0.15%.Contents of water and MDA level in the brain tissue were significantly decreased,and the SOD content notably increased in all groups of lactuside B.Conclusion Ten compounds are all isolated from this plant for the first time.Compound 1 is a key component which possesses obvious activity against brain ischemia.
