ABSTRACT

Introduction: red Crescent Organization is as one of the most important NGOs that plays important roles in the field of crisis management. Effectiveness of this organization is depends on the role that assistance forces plays as human capital. In this regard, talent management is a complete collection of processes to identify, apply and manage people in order to successful implementation of business strategy. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of different types of leadership on talent management and identify the most suitable species for the development and improvement of talent management

Methods: this study is descriptive and functional, and was conducted with a single cross-sectional survey and fieldwork. Statistical population of this survey is Rescuers of the Red Crescent Yazd that was calculated based on a sample size, 246 persons were randomly selected and surveyed. In order to explain the relationship between variables, is used two questionnaire; the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire [MLQ] Bass and Alive [1995] and Talent Management, that reliability has been checked through Cronbach's alpha and validity has been checked through the Content Validity. Data were analyzed through structural equation modeling with SMART-PLS software and t-test - Student was conducted in SPSS 18

Results: the results indicate the predominance of transformational leadership and then transactional leadership in this organization and reveal poor alignment, retention and talent development. On the other, based on the output of PLS method, transactional leadership has significantly and positively associated with all the components of the talent management process and transformational leadership has only a significant relationship with attracting process

Conclusions: due to the significant and direct impact of transactional leadership on the talent management and also current situation prevailing in the organization, movement toward replacement transactional leadership instead of transformational leadership should be a priority and with improve it in addition of the increase efficiency and effectiveness of the organization, situation of talent management will be improve significantly

ABSTRACT

Background and purpose: The purpose of this research was to evaluate the quantity and quality of continuing medical education programs from the viewpoint of general medical practitioners in Ilam province

Methods: The research method was descriptive survey and the statistic sample was a group of 61 general medical practitioners who have been working in Ilam during 2010-2011 and were chosen by simple random sampling method. The data collection tool was a questionnaire with 50 items and reliability coefficient obtained using Cronbach's alpha which was 88%

Results: The findings showed that there is a meaningful/significant relationship between CME [Continuing Medical Education]/retraining programs and improving GPs [General Practitioner] clinical skills with reliability of 99% and this relationship is direct and positive [r=0.502]. It means that increasing the quality and quantity of these programs has positive effect on improving general practitioners' clinical skills. There was no meaningful/significant relationship between the method of teaching and GPs satisfaction [r=0.160]. It means most of these practitioners were not satisfied with using training equipment, teaching methods, teachers' knowledge and manners. Also, there was no meaningful/significant relationship between teaching times and educational materials and GPs satisfaction [r=0.73] .It shows that the rate of GPs satisfaction from teaching times and educational materials is very low and there is little coherence between them. But there was a meaningful/significant relationship between GPs job requirements and educational materials with reliability of 95% [r=0.326]. It means presenting suitable teaching materials and content related to GPs jobs requirements led to increase GPs desire to attend educational classes .There was no meaningful/significant relationship between time dedicated to each topic and improving GPs skills [r=0.096]. So, findings indicate that there is no coincidence between GPs topics priorities and the time allocated to each CME program. There is a meaningful/significant relationship between up-to-date programs and improving GPs clinical skills [r=0.409]

Conclusions: If quantity and quality of presented content be higher, it has positive effect on improving clinical skills and vice versa. All in all practitioners were not satisfied with the way of presenting topics including training equipment ,teaching methods, teachers' knowledge and manners. Suitable way of presenting content related to practitioners' jobs requirements led to increase their desire to attend educational classes. The results of this study showed that there was no coherence between practitioners' priorities and allocated time to continuing medical education program. There was no significant difference

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Root perforation diagnosis and immediate treatment of the lesion, can improve the prognosis of the treatment. Because of the limitations of radiographic method for determining proper location of the perforation, today using electronic apex locator devices was recommended for root perforation detection

Objective: Evaluate the accuracy of the Raypex 5 apex locator for detecting root perforation and compare it with radiographic method

Materials and Methods: Twenty extracted anterior central teeth with apical foramen diameter equal to file 30 or 35 were selected. The roots were perforated using a 1/2 round bur at 1/3 middel of the root. Then, actual electronic and radiographic distance to perforation were measured. Data were analyzed using ANOVA with repeated measurements

Results: Raypex 5 apex locator could detect root perforations in 55% of the cases. In these cases, no significant difference was observed between the mean electronic and actual length of the perfortion[p=0.29]. There was no significant difference between the mean radiographic and actual length of the perfortion [p=0.444]. There was no significant difference between the mean radiographic and electronic length. [p=0.819]

Conclusion: Raypex 5 could detect root perforation in only 55% of the cases. In these cases, electronic length had no significant difference with actual and radiographic length
