ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate vitamin D levels among primary and middle school students in Xicheng District, Beijing Municipality, and to examine the association of vitamin D levels with hemoglobin (Hb) and serum ferritin (SF) levels, so as to provide insights into the prevention of anemia among primary and middle school students. @*Methods@#The first, third and fifth grade primary school students and the first grade junior high school students were sampled from Xicheng District in 2019, using the multistage stratified cluster sampling method, and students' gender, age, height, weight and Hb levels were collected. The 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25-( OH )D] was measured using electrochemiluminescence assay, and SF was detected using immunoturbidimetry. The vitamin D deficiency was determined according to the American College of Endocrinology guidelines. The associations of 25-( OH) D levels with Hb and SF levels were examined using Pearson correlation analysis and Spearman rank correlation analysis. @*Results@#Totally 403 primary and junior high school students were investigated, including 196 boys ( 48.64% ) and 207 girls ( 51.36% ). There were 179, 114 and 110 students at ages of 6 to 8 years ( 44.41% ), 9 to 11 years ( 28.29% ) and 12 to 13 years ( 27.30% ), respectively. The mean 25-( OH )D level was ( 14.80±5.96 ) ng/mL among the study students, and there were 90 students ( 22.33% ) with severe vitamin D deficiency, 243 students ( 60.30% ) with vitamin D deficiency, 63 students ( 15.63% ) with vitamin D inadequacy and 7 students ( 1.74% ) with vitamin D sufficiency. The mean Hb level was ( 136.28±8.33 ) g/L and the median SF level (interquartile range) was 56.80 (14.36) ng/mL among the study students, respectively. The 25-( OH )D level positively correlated with Hb ( r=0.364, P<0.001 ) and SF levels ( rs=0.374, P<0.001 ), and after adjustment for age and body mass index, the 25-( OH )D still correlated positively with Hb ( r=0.157, P=0.048 ) and SF levels ( rs=0.174, P=0.022 ) .@*Conclusions@#Vitamin D deficiency is prevalent among primary and middle school students in Xicheng District, and the 25-(OH)-D levels correlate positively with Hb and SF levels. 25-( OH )-D deficiency may contribute to the development of anemia.

ABSTRACT

Major hepatectomy (MH) is a common treatment for benign and malignant liver diseases. Controlled low central venous pressure (CLCVP) is an important measure to reduce the intraoperative blood loss and transfusion requirement during MH. In this paper, the application standard of CLCVP at MH is discussed, and the specific measures to achieve CLCVP including fluid restriction, drug application, body gesture adjustment, reduction of tidal volume, suspension of respiratory ventilation, and infrahepatic inferior vena cava clamping (complete and partial) are systematically summarized.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the effect of ticagrelor and clopidogrel on platelet functions and inflamma-tion factor in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS)after PCI.Methods 180 patients with ACS who taken PCI were chosen and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(90 cases in each group).All patients of the two groups were given conventional treatment,and the control group received clopidogrel treatment on the basis of routine therapy preoperation and postoperation,while the observation group received clopidogrel treatment on the basis of the control group treatment.Before treatment and 24 h,7 d,28 d after treatment,the C-reactive protein (CRP),interleukin 6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),myeloperoxidase(MPO),soluble CD40 receptor (sCD40L),platelet maximum aggregation rate(MPAR)and P2Y12 response unit(PRU)in the two groups were recorded and compared,as well as the main cerebrovascular events after six months follow-up.Results In the two groups before treatment,MPAR and PRU had no statistically significant differences(t=0.41,0.19,all P>0.05). 24h,7d and 28d after operation,MPAR and PRU were significantly decreased compared with before treatment(t≥2.09,all P0.05 ).24h after treatment,CRP,sCD40L,IL-6 and TNF-αin the two groups all significantly increased(all P<0.05),and then decreased.24h,7d,28d after treatment,DCRP,sCD40L,IL-6 and TNF-αin the observation group were all significantly lower than those in the control group (t=60.79, 50.30,27.95,12.98,40.29,16.73,15.03,7.30,all P<0.05).And,the incidence rate of cardiovascular adverse events of the observation group was 2.22%,which was significantly lower than 10.00% of the control group(χ2 =5.714,P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with clopidogrel,using ticagrelor to treat ACS patients after PCI has better antiplatelet aggregation and inflammation effects,which can reduce the incidence of cardiovascular adverse events.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To construct lentiviral vector which can overexpression miR-137 and produce lentivirus by lentivirus packaging system, and to explore its infection efficiency and expression in HEK293T cells.Methods: miR-137 sequence was chemically synthesized and cloned into lentiviral vector GV209, and the recombinant plasmid containing human miR-137 was obtained and identified.Then miR-137 recombinant plasmid together with two helper plasmids were transfected into HEK293T cells using Lipofectamine 2000.After the HEK293T cells were infected in multiplicity of infection(MOI) 40 for 48 h, the expression of green fluorescent protein (GFP) was observed by fluorescence microscope and the expression level of miR-137 was detected by fluorescence quantitative PCR.Results:The sequencing results showed that the inserted gene sequence was completely consistent with the published human miR-137 gene sequence in GenBank.The GFP was observed in the HEK293T cells infected with miR-137 overexpression lentivirus under fluorescence microscope.The fluorescence quantitative PCR results showed that the expression level of miR-137 in the cells infected with overexpression lentivirus was 12.74 times higher than that in the control cells.Conclusion:The lentivirus containing miR-137 gene is successful packaged, and it could efficiently infect the HEK293T cells.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of levosimendan on acute decompensated heart failure and its effect on SDNN and SDANN values.MethodsThe clinical data of patients with acute decompensated heart failure treated in Zhejiang Greentown Cardiovascular Hospital from January 2014 to August 2016 were retrospectively analyzed.According to their treatment methods, they were divided into control group and observation group.There were 49 cases in the control group and 71 cases in the observation group.The control group was given conventional drug treatment, the observation group was given levosimendan treatment on the basis of the control group.The therapeutic effects of the two groups were observed.The difference of cardiac function, SDNN, SDANN value and adverse reaction between the two groups were compared before and after treatment.ResultsAfter treatment, the observation group efficiency was 98.59%, significantly higher than the control group;the observation group LAD, RAD, LVESD, LVEDD and BNP lower than the control group, the level of LVEF was higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);the observation group SDNN, SDANN, RMSSD and PNN50 (%) was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).ConclusionLevosimendan has good therapeutic effect on acute decompensated heart failure, can significantly improve the level of SDNN, SDANN, and the incidence of adverse reactions is low.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate curative efficacy of ginkgo biloba extract dripping pills in treatment of acute coronary syndrome(ACS) after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) and its effects on platelet aggregation rate(PAR), activated clotting time(ACT) and antithrombin(AT)Ⅲ. Methods 90 patients of ACS treated with PCI who received therapy from January 2014 to October 2016 in Zhejiang green town cardiovascular hospital were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group , 45 cases in each group.The control group was treated with routine treatment after PCI, while the observation group was combined with ginkgo biloba extract dripping pills.After treatment of seven days, the changed of PAR, ACT, ATⅢ and adverse cardiovascular events were compared, after treatment three months, the seattle angina scale were compared. Results After treatment, the levels of PAR in the observation group were significantly lower than that of the control group, and the levels of ACT and ATⅢ were significantly higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), the total incidence of adverse cardiovascular events in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group , the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05), in the seattle angina scale, the scores of stable state of angina pectoris, the attack of angina pectoris, physical activity limitation, treatment satisfaction in the observation group were significantly better than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Ginkgo biloba extract dripping pill is well for ACS after PCI, which can effectively relieve clinical symptoms, to improve the expression of PAR, ACT and ATⅢ, helps to reduce the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Qijialifei capsule,a kind of Chinese traditional medicine,as adjuvant chemotherapy for retreatment patients with smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis.Methods One hundred and sixty retreatment cases with smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis were divided into observation group (80 cases) and control group (80 cases).All patients received the therapy of 3SHRZE/6HRE.The patients in observation group took Qijialifei capsule.Then comparisons were made between two groups in the sputum tubercle bacillus conversion rate,focus improvement rate,cavity closing rate,the cellular immune function,and clinical symptom improvement.Results In 160 cases,77 cases in observation group and 78 cases in control group completed the treatment.At the end of intensified therapy period and at the end of the whole therapy the sputum tubercle bacillus conversion rate [79.2% (61/77),92.2% (71/77)] in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group [64.1% (50/78),78.2% (61/78)](P < 0.05).The focus improvement rate,cavity closing rate in observation group [74.0%(57/77),26.0%(20/77)] were significantly higher than those in control group [52.6% (41/78),11.5% (9/78)] (P < 0.05).At the end of intensified therapy period,the focus improvement rate,cavity closing rate in observation group [92.2% (71/77),54.5% (42/77)] were significandy higher than those in control group [76.9% (60/78),29.5% (23/78)] (P < 0.05).By the end of the whole therapy,the number of CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ of patients in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group (P < 0.05).The disappearance of clinical symptoms in observation group was shorter than that in control group(P < 0.05).The rate of side effects on Qijialifei capsule was only 1.3%(1/77).Conclusions Qijialifei capsule can improve the cellular immune function of the patients,can effectively alleviate the symptoms and can improve the sputum tubercle bacillus conversion rate,radiographic focus improvement rate and cavity closing rate.It is safe.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the value of spectral CT for the discrimination of benign and malignant lung lesions through multi-parameter quantitative measurement.Methods Eighty-one patients who had lung nodule or mass on X-ray or plain CT were scanned using spectral CT,generating iodine concentration,water concentration and 101 sets of monochromatic images.Iodine concentration,water concentration,spectrum energy curve and CT value at 40 keV were measured with spectral post-processing software.70 eligible patients were divided into pneumonia group and tumor group.ANOVA analysis was used for the statistic analysis in two groups.Results The iodine concentration in pneumonia group and tumor group were (1.47 ± 0.17) and (0.77 ± 0.19) g/L (F =203.97,P < 0.05).The slope rates of spectrum energy curve in pneumonia group and tumor group were 1.65 ± 0.27 and 0.88 ± 0.22 (F =161.59,P <0.05).The CT values at 40 keV in pneumonia group and tumor group were (139.00 ± 16.25) and (83.29 ± 17.44) HU (F =160.45,P < 0.05),there were significant differences in iodine concentration,slope rates and CT values at 40 keV between two groups.The water concentration in pneumonia group and tumor group were (1021.56 ± 11.68) and (1022.62 ±8.56) g/L (F=0.19,P>0.05),there was no significant difference.Conclusion Spectral CT technique has very important value for the discrimination of benign and malignant lung lesions.

ABSTRACT

Objective To assess the therapeutic efficacy and safety of CT-guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation(PRFA) for hepatocellular carcinoma in the bare area (HCCBA). Methods During the period from April 2000 to June 2009, 26 patients with HCCBA were treated with CTguided PRFA, and 26 other HCC patients were selected as controls, whose lesions were located in the right lobe ≥1.0 cm away from the liver capsule, gallbladder, and main portal branches. One month after PRFA, the residual tumors of each patient were examined by contrast-enhanced CT and alpha-fetoprotein test, and repeated PRFA was undertaken if residual was present. Tumor-free survival was defined as the duration from complete ablation to diagnosed local recurrence. The 2-independent-samples t-test was used to compare tumor diameter between HCCBA patients and controls. The MannWhitney U test was used to compare patient's age, etiologies of liver disease, liver function status,number of needle punctures and the value of AFP. A χ2 test was used for comparison of the complete tumor ablation rate and the cumulative local tumor-free survival rate. Results No significant difference was observed in the incidence of complication between the HCCBA patients and the controls (26. 9% vs 19.2%,P>0.05). There were no differences between the two groups in the number of needle punctures and the complete tumor ablation rate at first PRFA. Furthermore, no differences were observed in the cumulative 1-,3- and 5-year local tumor-free survival rates between HCCBA patients (88. 5%, 46.2% and 19. 2% respectively) and patients in the control group (92.3%, 53.8% and 15.4% respectively). Conclusion CT-guided PRFA is effective and safe for HCCBA and could be preferred as one therapeutic option for HCCBA.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare short-term therapeutic outcomes and the safety of percutane-ous radiofrequency ablation (PRFA) with left single lung ventilation (LSLV) for liver cancer of the hepatic dome (LCHD) and that of PRFA for right liver carcinoma in favorable location. Methods Thirty one patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (belonging to LCHD) receiving PRFA with LSLV (Group LCHD) between January 2006 and January 2009 in our hospital were selected, and 45 control patients with right lobe HCC ≥1 cm away from the liver capsule, gallbladder, and main portal bran-ches were also included. One month after PRFA, residual tumors were followed up with contrast en-hanced CT and alpha fetal protein and PRFA was repeated in the presence of residual foci. Tumor-free survival time was defined as the duration from complete ablation to diagnosed local tumor progression.The Mann-Whitney test was used to compare age, tumor diameter, and average number of punctures between LCHD patients and controls. A χ2 test was used for comparison of the incidence of complica-tions and incomplete tumor ablation rate. The Kaplan-Meier's method was used for calculation of local tumor-free survival rate compared with a log-rank test. Results The incidence of right shoulder pain was significantly higher in LCHD patients than in controls (87. 1% vs 11. 1%, P<0. 01). LCHD pa-tients showed no difference from controls in the average number of punctures (2. 8±. 5 vs 3. 2±. 5,P>0. 05). Meanwhile, there was no difference between the 2 groups in average duration of treatment and hospitalization, and the complete tumor ablation rate at first PRFA. No differences were observed in the 1-, 2- and 3-year local tumor-free survival rates between LCHD patients (85. 5% , 65. 8% , and 36. 4% ,respectively) and controls (87.7%, 62. 3% , and 34.0% , respectively). Conclusion PRFA with LSLV for LCHD seems to promise comparable short-term outcomes and safety to PRFA for right liver carcinoma of fa-vorable location and should be preferred as one of the therapeutic options for LCHD patients with tumor di-ameters≤5 cm regardless of its unique location.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate effect of exogenous wild-type p53 gene on the cell growth and tumorigenicity of human gallbladder cancer cell lines. Methods: After identification of the genetic status of p53 gene of GBC-SD cell lines with the immunocytochemistry staining and the direct sequencing technique of PCR products, eukaryotic expressing plasmid pCMV-p53 was introduced by lipofectamine-mediated into GBC-SD cell lines. Growing transfected cells were selected by G418. The presence and expression of exogenous p53 gene was detected by PCR, RT-PCR and Western blot. The cellular proliferating ability was assessed using the cell growth curve and cloning assay. The xenograft in nude mice was performed to examine the effect of tumorigenicity. Results: P53 protein overexpression was showed in GBC-SD cell lines. A transversion of TAC→AAC at codon 126 of exon 5 was confirmed. PCR, RT-PCR and Western blot showed exogenous p53 gene had successfully transfected into GBC-SD cells and obtained high expression. The growth and proliferation of the cells were greatly decreased, and the tumorigenicity was significantly inhibited after transfection wtp53. Conclusion: The expression of exogenous wild-type p53 gene could effectively inhibit the growth of gallbladder cancer GBC-SD cells in vitro and in vivo.
