comparative study between roll ball ablation and resection of the endometrium

To compare the results of endometnial ablation [E.A.] vs. Resection [E.R] especially, recurrence of uterine bleeding. This study included 38 patients complaining from severe menorrhagia, dysfunctional uterine bleeding or simple endometirtal hyperplasia, was conducted from 1994 to August 1996. Endometrial ablation was done on 23 patients and resection on 15 patients. Benha university hospital and author's private practice. The mean operating time was shorter in ablation than in resection but [6 months] cumulative failure rate for resection was around 6.6% and 21% for ablation.
