ABSTRACT
This study was a trial to isolate shigella from milk and its products. For this purpose, a total of 350 samples [100 samples from raw, and pasteurized milk, 100 samples from fresh kariesh cheese and 50 samples from ice-cream] were examined. It was found that raw and pasteurized milk were shigella free, while the organism was isolated from kariesh and ice-cream. This may be due to contamination during preparation, manufacturing, handling, distribution
