ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate clinical effects of intraoperative arthrography monitoring assisted closed reduction and internal fixation for intercondylar fracture of humerus in children.@*METHODS@#From January 2013 to July 2018, 18 children with intercondylar fracture of humerus were treated by operation, including 13 males and 5 females aged from 3 to 12 years old with an average age of (8.50±2.57) years old. According to Toniolo & Wilkinson classification, 8 children were typeⅠand 10 children were typeⅡ. During the operation, closed reduction and internal fixation were performed under the monitoring of intraoperative radiography, open reduction and internal fixation were performed in necessity. Mayo score of elbow joint was used to evaluate clinical effect at 6 months after operation.@*RESULTS@#All children were underwent arthrography monitoring during operation, 5 children were treated with closed reduction and internal fixation for intraoperative arthrography found no fracture of articular cartilage, 11 children by closed reduction and internal fixation because of fracture of articular cartilage involving the joint space with displacement less than 2 mm, and 2 children by closed or open reduction and internal fixation for fracture of articular cartilage surface with displacement above 2 mm, which 1 child with smooth of joint surface was performed closed reduction and internal fixation, 1 child without smooth of joint surface and displacement above 2 mm was performed open reduction and internal fixation. All children were followed up from 8 to 26 months with an average of (20.28±4.40) months. All factures were healed from 6 to 9 weeks with an average of (7.33±0.77) weeks. Postoperative Mayo score of elbowjoint at 6 months was (89.44±11.36), and 12 patients got excellent results, 5 good and 1 poor. One patient occurred partial limitation of flexion or extension of elbow joint. No elbow deformity and other complications occurred.@*CONCLUSION@#The treatment of intercondylar fracture of humerus in children under monitoring of intraoperative radiography could reduce opertaion injuries and complications, confirm the reduction effect of articular surface of cartilage in time and clearly, and promote recovery of elbow joint function.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the relationship between Adverse childhood experiences(ACEs) and depression in early adolescence, and to provide scientific basis for effectively coping with the impact of ACEs on adolescents’ mental health.@*Methods@#Stratified cluster sampling method was used to select adolescents in grade 6-8 in three middle schools of Shanghai during November and December of 2017. Adolescents were investigated anonymously using computer assisted self-interview approach via the tablets. Information including demographic characteristics, ACEs, and depression was collected. The chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression were used to explore the relationship between ACEs and depression, after controlling potential confounders.@*Results@#Totally 1 629 eligible records were obtained. 65.25% of the respondents had experienced of neglect, followed by those abused(61.26%), and the incidence of family dysfunction was relatively low(20.81%). About 79.01% of the respondents had experienced at least one ACE, and more than half(61.45%) of the respondents had experienced at least two ACEs, and 10.01% of the respondents had experienced five or more ACEs. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that abuse and neglect experienced by male and female adolescents was associated with depression severity, with the OR values ranging from 2.62 to 3.60. Family dysfunction was found to be associated with depression only in male adolescents, with the OR of 1.91. The cumulative effect of ACE score on depression was observed.@*Conclusion@#Different types of ACEs in early adolescents are associated with depression, and ACEs have cumulative effects on depression severity.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the effect of diallyl thiosulfinate (DATS) on the proliferation of side population (SP) cells in multiple myeloma (MM) and its mechanism.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>RPMI-8226 and NCI-H929 cells were cultured, and the level of SP cells was detected by Hoechst33342 staining. The SP cells were cultured and treated with 10 µg/ml DATS, the CCK8 assay was carried out to examine the effect of DATS on the proliferation ability in SP cells, and plate colony-forming test was used to examine the colony-forming ability, the flow cytometry assay was carried out to examine the cell cycle, Western blot assay was used to examine the expression of cyclin D1, cyclin E, CDK2 and CDK4.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>SP cells were detected in RPMI-8226 and NCI-H929 cells with a proportion of 3.17±0.98 and 2.65±0.61, respectively. DATS treatment could significantly inhibit the SP cells survival in a time-dependent manner, and also could significantly inhibit the colony forming. In addition, DATS treatment could significantly induce the G/S arrest and suppress the expression of cyclin D1, cyclin E, CDK2 and CDK4.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>DATS can inhibit the proliferation and colony-forming of SP cells in multiple myeloma, and induce the G/S arrest that may be carried out via suppressing the expression of cyclin D1, cyclin E, CDK2 and CDK4.</p>

ABSTRACT

Toxicogenomics (TGx) refers to a set of technologies that assess genome-wide responses after toxic agent exposure. Altered gene expression patterns that are caused by specific exposures reveal how toxicants may disrupt cellular processes and lead to side effects. Development and application of " omics" technology facilitate the toxicogenomic research which sharing and interpretation of the enormous amount of biological information generated in toxicologic field. In recent years TGx has been widely valued and successfully applied as an effective research tool to evaluate the toxic effects of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Here we reviewed current progress in the field of TGx and focused on its application in traditional Chinese medicine safety evaluation, especially in revealing the mechanism, finding potential toxic biomarkers and studying compatibility detoxification of TCM.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore methods and clinical outcomes of microsurgical technique in treating patients with severed palm.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>From January 2009 to December 2012,45 patients with severed palm were treated by replantation through microsurgical technique, included 37 males and 8 females, aged from 13 to 45 years old with an average of 25. Postoperative survival rate and evaluation standard of upper limb replantation function posposed by Chinese Medical Association were applied for evaluate clinical outcomes after operation.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Forty-five patients with severed plam were treated by replantation. Thirty-nine patients (121 fingers) were survived,and survival rate was 87%. All patients were followed up 3 to 15.5 months with an average of 11.5 months. According to evaluation standard of upper limb replantation function posposed by Chinese Medical Association, the total score was 80.27 +/- 1.93, and 27 cases got excellent results, 8 good and 4 poor.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The success of replantation of severed palm depends on grasping operation indication strictly, knowing complexity and local anatomic relationship, debridement completely during operation, making full use of remaining organization, arteriovenostomy through microsurgical technique as early as possible, constructing circulation and repairing injuried nerve rationally.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate the effect of NGX6 with 5-Fu on the apoptosis of colon cancer cells. Methods: The NGX6-transfected HT-29 cell line with 5-Fu was used in the test group. HT-29 cell line with 5-Fu and PDTC was used in the control group. The expression of NF-κB was detected by EMSA. The proliferation of HT-29 cell line was assayed by MTT. The effect of NGX6 on the apoptosis was detected by FCM. HT-29 cells were double-stained by PI/Annexin-V and AO/EB and observed by fluorescence microscopy. Results: The expression of NF-κB was inhibited in NGX6 transfected colon carcinoma cell group and in colon carcino-ma cell group treated with PDTC. Treatment with the chemopreventive compounds 5-Fu and PDTC resulted in different responses in the effects of anti-proliferation and induced apoptosis of colon carcinoma cells. There was no significant difference in apoptosis between NGX6-transfected HT-29 call line with 5-Fu and the cells in the control group. NGX6 gene enhanced the effect of 5-Fu on the proliferation and apoptosis of colon carcino-ma cells. Conclusion: NGX6 gene can induce apoptosis and inhibit the proliferation of colon carcinoma cells. NGX6 gene can enhance the effect of 5-Fu on the proliferation and apoptosis of colon carcinoma cells through NF-κB pathway.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To prove if it is possible for using the shattering extraction with solvent to extract ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>The shattering extraction with solvent, the refluxing extraction and the ultrasonic extraction were used to extract paeoniflorin from Radix Paeoniae rubra, and to extract baicalein from Radix Scutellariae, and to extract chlorogenic acid from Flos lonicerae japonicae respectively, using ingredient content and extract yield as the measuring indexes.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>The content of each every ingredient obviously higher by using shattering extraction with solvent than using refluxing extraction or the ultrasonic extraction.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The shattering extraction with solvent is a high efficiency, simple and quick extraction. It may be used to extract the ingredient of three kinds of traditional Chinese medicine.</p>

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To establish a liver metastasis model of nude mice in colon cancer so as to determine the function of NGX6.@*METHODS@#The cells of Group HT-29, pcDNA3.1(+)/HT-29, and pcDNA3.1(+)/NGX6/HT-29 were implanted into the spleen of nude mice, respectively. Everyday we measured the weight of the nude mice and observed their ingestion, movement and mental status. The nude mice were killed after 45 days, and the effect of NGX6 on the malignant behavior of HT-29 was assessed by this experiment.@*RESULTS@#In contrast to the other two groups, the metastasis in the liver and xenograft tumor in the spleen of pcDNA3.1(+)/NGX6/HT-29 group was significantly reduced (P<0.01).@*CONCLUSION@#The metastasis of HT-29 colon cancer cell line was significantly inhibited by NGX6 gene. This model of liver metastasis in the nude mice is a proper model to determine the anti-metastasis mechanism of NGX6 gene.

ABSTRACT

Objective To carry out integrative development to available field battle portable X -ray machine,solving functional defect in quondam tripod and inconvenience in transport. Methods We used anthrop -machine engineering,electricity engineering and machinery engineering to undertake integrative design on whole machine. Results The whole machine can be quickly extended and folded in 2 minutes. Centric position of the sucker is 170 cm over the ground,and 45 cm away from column stand when the whole machine working. The machine can work in multi-angle and omnibearing. The whole machine can deposit in an appropriative crate with efficiency of anti-shock and seepage water when folding. Conclusion Integrative design of field battle portable X-ray machine increases projection range,boosts projection effect,strengthens medical service safeguard ability of radio-staff consumedly.

ABSTRACT

Objective To test the timeliness of newly developed electronic medical tag system.Methods According to a standardized logistical process of medical tag in battlefield,timeliness tests of electronic medical tag and paper-based medical tag in two different echelons: battalion-company and medical battalion were completed,and the data of two groups were compared.Results It showed that the consumed time in the electronic medical tag system was 3/10 and 1/11 of the consumed time in paper-based medical tag respectively.Conclusion The timeliness of the electronic medical tag system is much better than that of the paper-based medical tag and meets the timeliness requirements of treatment in battlefield.

Results It was demonstrated be tests that active radio frequency identification technology met the requirements of electronic medical tag system. Conclusion The electronic medical tag system based on radio frequency identification technology changes the traditional working mode and enhances integral capability of field first aid.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the effect and clinical significance of Fuzheng Yiliu Granule (FYG) on nuclear transcriptional factor-kappa B (NF-kappa B) and cell cycle in breast tumor.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Fifty-five patients of breast carcinoma were randomly divided into the treated group and the control group, both were treated with conventional chemotherapy, but to the treated group, FYG was given additionally by oral taking. Operation was performed one month later to take out the tumor tissue for detecting NF-kappa B expression and ration of cells in different phases of cell cycle.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Compared with the control group, NF-kappa B expression was significantly increased in the treated group, accompanied with increased G0/1 phase cell proportion and decreased S phase cell proportion as well as significantly reduced cell proliferation index (all P < 0.01).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>FYG could enhance the expression of NF-kappa B in breast tumor tissue, raise the proportion of G0/1 phase cells, decrease proportion S phase cells and reduce the cell proliferation index, showing an active action on the patients prognosis.</p>

Objective To develop electronic medical tag system on scientifically,rationally,orderly and efficiently.Methods By analyzing total goals of system development and application requirement of military medical logistics to design rational-ly system function,scan carefully and examine application technology,insist on the independent development and innova-tion,focus on the standardization of equipment and information.Results Through the various tests of the system,the per-formance of the whole system can be met the requirements of tactical specification and perfect effect.Conclusion The de-velopment of equipment must be grasped the military requirements and the technical and non-technical component ele-ment,focus on the technical breakthrough and follow standardization requirements,then the quality of equipment can be guaranteed,and the task of serving for medical support can be accomplished.
