ABSTRACT

A preliminary study of determination of the acetylor phenotype of the izoniazid is achieved for the first time in Morocco in 100 patients. The results have shown a correlation between the methods of determination on blood samples [Delacoux] and urinary ones [Hodgkin] with 59% of quick acetylors and 41% of slow acetylors; these rates are equivalents to those met in Black Africa. The prevalence of the quick acetylors certainly explains the good tolerance of the important doses of the INH [10 mg/kg] used in Morocco. If the determination of the acetylor phenotype cannot be achieved in a systematic way in our country, aiming to an individual adaptation of the posology owing to the calculation of the index of inactivation made on a single swab -, this dosage may on the other hand be achieved in a punctual way against poisoning signs, appeared with a dose of 10mg/kg of INH

ABSTRACT

The evaluation of the fetal maturity by some physicochemical methods realized for the first time in the University Hospital in Casablanca, has dealt with 89 cases spaced on during 18 months. The authors have compared 2 methods of the evaluation of the foetal maturity: the determination by chromatography of the rate lecithin I sphingomyelin and of the value of the report palmitic acid I stearic acid. This study was done on amniotic fluid taken either by amniocentesis or by vaginal way. A correlation is established between the different criterions of the valuation of the pregnancy age and their reliability of the used methods is emphasized

ABSTRACT

The acute barbiturate poisonings represent 20% of the whole medicinal poisonings, diagnosed in the university hospital of Casablanca during a year. Concerning 23 cases, the authors stress the different clinical, toxicological and therapeutic problems that the I.B.A. arise. They settle a relation between the rate of the barbiturics and the importance of the clinical symptoms. Being a result of a narrow collaboration of the university hospital and the school of Medicine, this study is a first approach to the organisation of a toxicological center likely to respond to the needs of Casablanca

ABSTRACT

Acute poisonings caused by phosphorated insecticides, represent 8% of all cases of poisoning observed in the medical intensive care department of the Casablanca University Hospital during 1978. The authors report their clinical observations and their therapeutic results. After a review of the main techniques of evaluation of the cholinesterase activity and the choice of a method, they analyse the results of the dosage carried out in eight patients and discuss the evolution of the cholinesterase level according to the applied treatment
