ABSTRACT

Objective@#To study the hepatitis B infection and immune status of the first-year students in a university and to provide evidence for the hepatitis B prevention in the university.@*Methods@#Subjects were the first-year students in a university; questionnaires were distributed. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was adopted to test HBsAg and anti-HBs in serum.@*Results@#The hepatitis B vaccine inoculation rate was 80.8% among 728 subjects, the inoculation rate of urban students was higher than that of rural students (P<0.005). The HBsAg positive rate was 3.4%, no significant difference was found among students in cities and countryside. The anti-HBs positive rate was 65.2%, the positive rate of urban students was higher than that of rural students (P<0.005). The positive rate of anti-HBs in students with hepatitis B vaccination history was significantly higher than that of students without history of vaccination against hepatitis B. No significant differences were found between male and female students for all the groups.@*Conclusions@#By combining the condition of inoculation history of the first-year students in the university and the testresult of HBsAg and anti-HBs, it is necessary to strengthen vaccination against hepatitis B. The prevention of hepatitis B and inoculation of hepatitis B vaccine in the countryside should be strengthened.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the expressions of extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer molecule CD147 and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) protein in gastric cancer and their relationship with the pathological behavior and prognosis. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expressions of CD147 and EGFR protein in 63 cases of gastric cancer and 40 cases of paracancerous normal tissues. The study was also combined with analysis of the pathological behavior and clinical follow-up survey of gastric cancer. Results The positive expression rates of CD147 and EGFR protein in gastric cancer were 77.8% (49/63) and 42.9% (27/63),respectively,which were higher than those in paracancerous normal tissues 25.0% and 0 (x2 =27.851,P =0.000;x2 =23.233,P =0.000).In gastric cancer, the expressions of CD147 and EGFR were closely related to the depth invasion (x2 =5.992,P =0.014;x2 =13.148,P =0.000),TNM stages (.x2 =8.481,P=0.004;x2=14.589,P=0.000),lymph node metastasis (x2 =5.270,P=0.022;x2=20.261,P =0.000) and prognosis of patients (x2 =5.606,P =0.018;x2 =4.982,P =0.026).The expression of CD147 was also significantly correlated with Ki-67 expression (x2 =10.481,P =0.001).CD147 expression was positively correlated with EGFR expression(r =0.309,P =0.014).Conclusion The expressions of CD147 and EGFR are closely related to carcinogenesis, metastasis and survival time of gastric cancer.Detecting the expressions of CD147 and EGFR may be prognostic indicators of gastric cancer.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the variation and characteristics of HIV-1 tat exon 1 gene from a patient with AIDS dementia complex( ADC), so as to research the pathogenesis of ADC. Methods The tat gene was amplified with nested PCR from genomic DNA which was extracted from lymph node, spleen and different brain tissues( meninges, grey matter from frontal cortex, white matter from frontal cortex, temporal cortex and basal ganglia) of a patient who died of ADC. PCR products were cloned into the pGEM-T vector, after transformation and selection by ampicillin and blue/white spotting. Five of positive clones were sequenced. HIV-1 tat sequences were processed with BioEdit and MEGA4. With the softwares, Neighbor-Joining tree, p-Distances, values of ds/dn, and analysis of amino acid motifs were all done. Results The samples were all identified as HIV-1 B and genetic variation exists in HIV-1 tat isolated from different tissue;Compared with HXB2, sixteen sites of the amino acid seque nce coded by the HIV-1 tat gene which was isolated from the patient changed. In addition, part of the changes were different between periphery and brain, especially, the five Q54R changes from basal ganglia and one Q54R change from temporal cortex are deserve to follow with interest. Conclusion Variations exist in the HIV-1 tat genes extracted from the ADC patient and the variations from peripheral and central nerve tissues were different, whether the variations concerned with the pathogenesis of ADC need more research.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To identify Pogostemon cablin and Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis in Huoxiang zhengqi pills by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. METHODS:Pogostemon cablin and Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis in Huoxiang zhengqi pills were extracted by ultrasound extraction technology and identified on SPB-1701 column(30 m?0.25 mm?0.25 ?m) with He as carrier gas and EI as ion source at an electron energy of 70 eV. RESULT:The main components such as Patchouli alcohol from Pogostemon cablin, and Magnolol and Honokiol from Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis were identified simultaneouly. CONCLUSION: The method is simple, rapid, accurate and reliable, and applicable for the quality control of Huoxiang zhengqi pills.
