ABSTRACT

With the extensive use of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB), some breast cancer patients could avoid axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) and its complications. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy plays an important role in the multimodality therapies of breast cancer. After neoadjuvant chemotherapy, some patients with breast cancer were down-staged from positive axillary lymph node (cN+ ) to clinically negative (cN0). For these patients, the feasibility and safety of sentinel lymph node biopsy remains controversial. However, with the application of new technologies, SLNB is expected to become the main treatment for breast cancer patients with stage cN0 after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the influence of different axial lengths (AL) on corneal curvature (CC),corneal astigmatism (CA),anterior chamber depth (ACD) and intraocular pressure (IOP) in age-related cataract. Methods Ocular data of 368 patients 368 eyes from Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University undergoing cataract surgery were retrospectively reviewed.AL,corneal curvature, corneal astigmatism and anterior chamber depth were measured using IOL-Master (Zeiss,German),and the intraocular pressure was measured using an iCare tonometer.Together 80 patients (80 eyes) selected from these patients with different AL using random number table were randomly divided into three groups, including short, moderate and long AL group.Spearman's rank test was used to assess the correlation between AL and ocular biological parameters. Each parameter was compared by one-way analysis of variance among the three groups, respectively. Results Spearman's rank test presented that AL was related with CC (r =-0.424,P < 0.001),CA (r =0.138,P =0.008) and ACD (r =0.561,P <0.001),but there was no correlation of AL with IOP (r =0.064,P =0.326).The AL was negatively correlated with CC,positively correlated with CA and ACD,but there was weak correlation between AL and CA,as well as moderate correlation of AL with CC and ACD.The CC of the moderate and long AL group was significantly different from that of the short AL group (all P < 0.001),but there was no significant difference between moderate and long AL group (P =0.438).Moreover,difference in CA was not statistical significant between short and moderate AL group (P =0.333) as well as between moderate and long AL group (P =0.718),but its difference approached statistical significance between short and long AL group (P =0.042).Pairwise comparison of ACD among the three groups had significant difference (all P≤0.001),but difference in IOP was not statistically significant with palrwise comparison (all P > 0.05).Conclusion CC is negatively related to AL,and CA is weakly correlated to AL;meanwhile,it is possible to show that the degree of CA increases as AL gets longer. There is a moderate correlation between ACD and AL,while there is no relationship between AL and IOP.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To explore the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) C and D in gastric cancer and its relationship with tumor angiogenesis and lymph node metastasis.@*METHODS@#Immunohistochemistry(SABC) and real-time PCR were used to detect the expression of VEGF-C, VEGF-D protein and mRNA in 32 gastric cancer tissues and 32 normal gastric tissues.@*RESULTS@#The positive expression rate of VEGF-C and VEGF-D in gastric cancer tissue was significantly higher than that of normal gastric tissues (P0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The non-intake high expression of VEGF-C and VEGF-D in gastric cancer cells is closely related to lymph node metastasis. They serve as the important reference indicator to assess the prognosis in gastric cancer patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective:With a scrutiny of the gastroscope aspects of hepatogenic ulcer (HU),this sutdy was to find out the relationship between HU and hepatocelluar damage and portal hypertension.Methods:262 cases of portal hyprtension of cirrhosis were reviewed with HU being grouped according to the clinical gravity of cirrhosis and the gravity of esophageal varies (EV).Results:①Duodenal ulcer prevails under endoscopy.Superficial ulceration accounted for 70.49% while ulceration less than 0.5cm in full diameter made up 55.74%.The figure was 62.3% with erosive gastritis.②Out of a total of 262,61(23.28%) cases of HU were found in connection with portal hypertension. The χ2 test showed that HU was related with hepatocellular grade and the gravity of EV (P<0.05).Conclusions:The incidence of HU were higher than normal.indicating that the onset of HU responded positively to the clinical intensity of cirrhosis and the gravity of EV.
