ABSTRACT

Autologous ozonized blood transfusion(AOBT) is a therapy of re-transfusion of 100-200 mL of autologous blood after shaking and agitation with appropriate amount of oxygen-ozone in vitro. The oxidation of blood through the strong oxidation of ozone can enhance the non-specific immune response of the body, regulate the internal environment and promote health. This therapy has been increasingly applied in clinical practice, while no unified standard for the operation process in terms of ozone concentration, treatment frequency and treatment course had been established. This operation process of AOBT is primarily explored in order to standardize the operation process and ensure its safety and efficacy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of ischemic bowel disease in elderly patients.Methods The clinical data of 83 patients with ischemic bowel disease, including 48 patients aged ≥60 years (elderly group ) and 35 patients aged <60 years ( control group ), admitted in our hospital from January 2011 to June 2016 were retrospectively analyzed.The clinical characteristics , underlying diseases, examination methods and treatment were compared between the two groups .Results There were no significant differences in gender , occupation, urban or rural origin between the two groups (P>0.05).The incidence of acute mesenteric ischemia ( AMI) in elderly group was significantly higher than that in the control group [22.9%(11/48) vs.5.7%(2/35), χ2=4.534, P =0.033];while the incidence of ischemic colitis (IC) in control group was higher than that in the elderly group [94.3%(33/35) vs. 70.8%(34/48), χ2=7.154, P=0.007].Elderly group was more prone to misdiagnosis as compared with the control group [58.3%(28/48) vs.34.3%(12/35), χ2=4.688, P =0.030] .Abdominal pain, diarrhea and hematochezia were the most common clinical manifestations of the two groups .Moderate pain and dull pain were the main symptoms of the elderly group accounting for 75.0%(36/48), while colic was the main symptoms of the control group accounting for 65.7%(23/35).The proportion of elderly patients with hypertension, coronary heart disease and cerebral infarction was higher than that of the control group [70.8%(34/48)vs.25.7%(9/35),62.5%(30/48) vs.20.0%(7/35),16.7%(8/48) vs.0(0/35), χ2=16.504,14.798,4.684,all P<0.05].The number of patients receiving colonoscopic examination was lower in the elderly group than that in the control group [52.1%(25/48) vs.94.3%(33/35), χ2=17.127, P=0.000 ] .The overall effective rate of medical treatment for elderly patients was 90.2%(37/41), mostly of them were chronic mesentery ischemia (CMI) and IC patients; while 11 cases of AMI patients had poor outcomes of medical and surgical treatment including 5 fatal cases.Conclusions The incidence and mortality of AMI in elderly patients with ischemic bowel disease are higher , while CMI and IC have good prognosis.Timely diagnosis, appropriate treatment may improve the cure rate and reduce mortality for elderly patients with AMI.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the killing effect of irradiated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) at low dose combined with apogossypolone (ApoG2) on cultured human prostate cancer PC-3 cells.Methods:Human PBMCs were irradated by gamma ray at 1 gray,the irradiation dose rate was 17 Gy/min.The experiment were divided into PC-3 tumor cell control group,PC-3 cells with irradiated and non-irradiated PBMCs co-culture groups,ApoG2 treatment group,irradiated PBMCs and ApoG2 co-treatment group.Acridine orange/ethidium bromide (AO/EB) staining and MTT method were used to observe the killing effect of PBMCs and/or ApoG2.Results:The killing activity of irradiated PBMCs group and ApoG2 treatment group were obviously increased and were higlaer than that of non-irradiated group (P<0.05).The killing activity of combined group were much higher than that of irradiated group and ApoG2 treatment group (P <0.01 ).Conclusion:Irradiated PBMCs at low dose combined with ApoG2 can enhances the anti-tumor effects markedly.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the changes of varicosis and hemodynamics in cirrhotic patients with portal vein hypertension at different stages after Hassab devascularization, and to evaluate the outcome.Methods Hassab devascularization was performed in 161 patients with portal vein hypertension, who were all evaluated by means of endoscopy, Doppler color imaging and Child-Pugh grading before and 6, 12, 18,24 months after the procedure, respectively.Results The rates of mild esophageal varicosis were 44.0%,34.8% and 28.3% at 6, 12 and 18 months after Hassab devascularization, respectively, which were all significantly higher than that before the operation(7.5%, P < 0.05), while the rates of severe esophageal varicosis were 25.2%, 29.7% and 34.9% at 6, 12 and 18 months after the procedure, which were significantly lower than that before(65.2%, P < 0.05).The incidence of varices in gastric fundus was correlated with the severity of esophageal varices.At 12 months after the operation, the inner diameters of portal vein and its right branch significantly decreased when compared with those before(P < 0.05), the maximal flow rate,volume of portal vein and average flow rate of the left branch also significantly decreased(P < 0.05).At 6 months after the operation, the average flow rate of the right branch slowed down(P < 0.05).Child-Pugh Grade A accounted for 63.5%, 60.6% and 57.9% at 6, 12 and 18 months after the operation, respectively, which were significantly higher than that before(48.4%, P <0.05).When evaluated at 24 months after the procedure, all variables were getting close to those before.Conclusion The severity of esophageal varices mitigates in 18 months after Hassab.Hemodynamics of portal vein system decreases in 12 months.The overall liver function improves in 18 months after the operation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the interference of Hongjingtian in cytokines in hippocampus of post stroke depression(PSD) rats.Methods The healthy SD rats were randomly divided into five groups:simple focal cerebral ischemia group,PSD group,Hongjingtian group of three doses [2.5,5,7.5 g/(kg?d)].PSD rats model was established.Hongjingtian group was given Hongjingtian and other groups were given normal saline.The ethological score of depression was evaluated.Pathological changes of hippocampus were observed by HE staining and the content of TNF-?,IL-1? and IL-6 in hippocampus were measured.Results Compared with normal group,the expression of the content of TNF-? and IL-1? of other groups increased,while the content of IL-6 decreased,the ethological score of depression decreased.HE staining of hippocampus showed neurocyte damaged obviously.The difference between them was significant(P0.05).Conclusion The steady state of network of cytokines in PSD experienced disequilibrium and neurocyte of hippocampus were damaged worse than that in simple focal cerebral ischemia.Hongjingtian has neuroprotective effects on PSD rats,its mechanism may through improving the damaged extent of neurocyte of hippocampus by way of reducing the content of TNF-?,IL-1? and increasing the content of IL-6 in hippocampus.
