ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To compare the efficacy and safety of parecoxib and ketorolac tromethamine for perioperative analgesia, and to provide evidence-based reference for clinical drug use. METHODS Retrieved from PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP, Wanfang Data, Baidu and Google, randomized controlled trials (RCT) about parecoxib (trial group) versus ketorolac tromethamine (control group) for perioperative analgesia were collected from the inception to Jun. 17th, 2022. After screening the literature and extracting the data, the quality of the included literature was evaluated using the bias risk assessment tool recommended by Cochrane system evaluator manual 5.1.0. Meta-analysis, sensitivity analysis and publication bias analysis were performed with RevMan 5.4 software. RESULTS A total of 12 RCTs were included, with 1 118 patients. Meta- analysis results showed that at the time of administration before anesthesia induction, there was no statistically significant difference between the 2 groups in visual analogue scale (VAS) [MD=-0.16, 95%CI (-0.41, 0.09), P=0.20], numerical rating scale (NRS) [MD=0.01, 95%CI (-0.36, 0.38), P=0.97], postoperative bleeding [MD=0.15, 95%CI (-0.63, 0.93), P=0.71], and consumption of opioid analgesics [MD=0.12, 95%CI (-0.77, 1.01), P=0.79]. At the time of postoperative administration, VAS and bleeding volume at 48 h after operation of trial group were significantly lower than control group (P<0.05). The results of subgroup analysis by different com assessment time points showed that the VAS of patients in trial group at 0 h after operation were significantly lower than control group at the time of administration before anesthesia induction; at the time of postoperative administration, VAS of patients in the trial group at 12 h and 48 h after operation were significantly lower than control group (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups [RR=0.93,95%CI (0.78,1.11),P=0.43]. The results of subgroup analysis according to different types of adverse reactions showed that the incidence of nausea and vomiting of trial group was significantly lower than control group, and the incidence of other adverse reactions was significantly higher than control group (P<0.05). Results of sensitivity analysis showed that study results were stable and reliable. Results of publication bias analysis showed that there was great possibility of publication bias in this study. CONCLUSIONS The efficacy of parecoxib is equivalent to that of ketorolac tromethamine for perioperative analgesia before operation; at the time of administration after operation, parecoxib has better analgesic effect and less postoperative bleeding; the incidence of nausea and vomiting caused by parecoxib is lower at any time of administration.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the economics of pharmaceutical care for pediatric inpatients provided by pediatric clinical pharmacists. METHODS: The cost-benefit analysis method was adopted. Randomized controlled trial data about pediatric clinical pharmacists intervening in drug treatment of pediatric inpatients were collected. The research objects were 0-18 years old children who were hospitalized for respiratory system disease, nervous system disease and digestive system disease in a hospital. Trial group additionally received pharmaceutical care provided by pediatric clinical pharmacists on the basis of routine medical service, and control group only received routine medical service. Cost indexes were clinical pharmaceutical care cost, and benefit indexes were the decrease of hospitalization cost and drug cost. Benefit-cost ratio was calculated in 2 groups, and sensitivity analysis was also conducted. RESULTS: Compared with control group, hospitalization cost and drug cost of trial group decreased by 30. 0% and 33. 7%; clinical pharmaceutical care cost was 184. 1 yuan/person; benefit-cost ratio were 9. 45 and 4. 61 (both higher than 1), with economics. The results of cost-benefit analysis were supported by sensitivity analysis. CONCLUSIONS: The pediatric clinical pharmacists providing pharmaceutical care for pediatric inpatients shows active economic effects.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To further understand the interaction protein spectrum of heterogeneous ribonucleoprotein AB (hnRNP AB), and to investigate their clinical significance in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).@*Methods@#We carried out mass spectrometry to reveal the specific peptides of KRAB-associated protein 1 (Kap1) and hnRNPAB, and verified their interaction by immunocoprecipitation and western blotting. Expression of hnRNPAB/Kap1 proteins were detected by immunohistochemical staining in the tissue microarrays. Categorical data were analyzed by the chi square test or Fisher exact test; enumeration data between groups were compared using Student t-test or Wilcocon signed rank test; the cumulative recurrence and survival rates were evaluated using the Kaplan-Meier method and the differences were assessed using the log-rank test.@*Results@#We identified Kap1 as a molecular partner for hnRNPAB in HCCLM3 cells and HepG2 cells as well. We found that the 5-year survival rate of the Kap1high patients was significantly lower than the survival rate of those of the Kap1low group (36% vs 59% , HR = 1.67, P < 0.001). Similarly, Kap1high HCC patients had the poorest prognosis at 5-years, with higher cumulative recurrence rate than Kap1low patients (72% vs 54%, HR = 1.66, P = 0.001). Univariate and Multivariate analyses revealed that hnRNPAB /Kap1 alone (HR = 1.35 /1.28, P = 0.001) or in combination with Kap1 (HR =1.24 /1.27, P < 0.05) were independent prognostic indicators for overall survival and time to recurrence.@*Conclusion@#In HCC cells, hnRNPAB and Kap1 form protein complexes. The expression levels of hnRNPAB alone or in combination with Kap1 in HCC patients are important because they provide not only a predictor for HCC prognosis but also a therapeutic target for future studies.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To systematically review the efficacy and safety of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in-hibitors in the treatment of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP),and provide evidence-based reference for clinic. METHODS:Re-trieved from PubMed,EMBase,Cochrane Library,CJFD,VIP,CBM and Wangfang Database,randomized controlled trials (RCT) about VEGF inhibitors (test group) versus laser photocoagulation treatment (control group) in the treatment of ROP were collected. Meta-analysis was performed by using Rev Man 5.1 software after data extraction and quality evaluation by Cochrane re-viewers manual 5.1.0. RESULTS:Totally 5 RCTs were included,involving 381 infants and 754 eyes.Results of Meta-analysis showed that the recurrence rate of ROP [RR=0.23,95%CI(0.13,0.42),P0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Intravitreal VEGF inhibitors have better efficacy than laser photocoagulation in the treatment of ROP,but the optimal dose and safety need further verification by large-sam-ple and well-designed RCT.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To understand the main diseases research area and tendency of the literatures published on top-five global biomedicine journals,and provide reference for topics and designs of domestic medical research. METHODS:Studies pub-lished on NEJM,JAMA,BMJ,Lancet and PLoS Medicine from 2004 to 2013 were searched via Web of Science;types of disease were classified by using International Classification of Diseases(version 10)(ICD-10);research types were analyzed according to the rules in clinical epidemiology. RESULTS:Most of studies(25.8%)were published on BMJ;USA(39.1%),UK(25.7%) and Canada(5.1%)were top-three countries for the first authors;circulation system disease,infectious and parasitic diseases,can-cer,endocrine,nutritional and metabolic disease and respiratory system disease were top-five in disease categories list,accounting for 61.7%;ischemic heart disease,HIV-related disease,diabetes,other heart disease and influenza and pneumonia were the main top-five specific diseases;and randomized controlled trials were main study type. CONCLUSIONS:The proportion of the first au-thor for the Chinese literature in the host country is very low. Top-five specific diseases are placed on circulation system disease,in-fectious and parasitic diseases,endocrine,nutritional and metabolic disease and respiratory system disease,with the main study types of randomized controlled trial,cohort study and systematic review.

ABSTRACT

Objective:In oder to investigate the effect of Chuanmingshen violaceum polysaccharides ( CVP) and Solfated Chua-nmingshen violaceum polysaccharides ( SCVP) on immunosuppression induced by cyclophosphamide ( CY) in mice.Methods: CY were used to induce immunosuppression in mice;Spleen and thymus indexes were used to evaluate the immune organs indexes;the [3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltet-razolium bromide,MTT] method was used to detect the proliferation of spleen lymphocytes of each group;the concentrations of IFN-γand IL-2 were assayed by ELISA kit.Results: SCVP and CVP could resist immunosuppression by promoting lymphocyte proliferation, increasing the contents of IFN-γ and IL-2, promoting immune organs development in immunosuppressive mice induced by CY.Conclusion:SCVP and CVP exhibited the potential to used as immunopotentiator.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the expression of Slug,EMMPRIN and E-cadherin in salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma (SACC)and its correlation with clinicopathological characteristics,and the correlation among themselves.Methods:Slug,EMMPRIN and E-cadherin expression in 1 1 5 SACC cases of SACC was examined by immunohistochemical staining.The results and clinicopatho-logical data were statistically analyzed.Results:High positive expression frequencies of Slug(76.5%)and EMMPRIN(69.6%)and low positive expression frequency of E-cadherin(51 .3%)were found in 1 1 5 SACC cases.The expression of Slug and EMMPRIN was positively associated with the histopathological types,clinical stages,perineural invasion,recurrence and distance metastasis(P <0.05).The expression of E-cadherin was negatively associated with the histopathological types,clinical stages,perineural invasion and distance metastasis(P <0.05).There was a significant correlation between Slug and EMMPRIN expression(P <0.05),negative correlation between EMMPRIN and E-cadherin expression(P <0.05)and between Slug and E-cadherin expression(P <0.05).Con-clusion:The expression of Slug,EMMPRIN and E-cadherin is closely correlated to the clinicopathological characteristics of SACC.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the relationship between peripheral blood regulatory T cells CD4 + and the antiviral effect in the patients with chronic hepatitis C.Methods 128 patients with chronic hepatitis C after antiviral treatment and follow-up were col-lected as the experimental group,the peripheral blood was respectively extracted before treatment and after treatment and at 24-week follow-up.The flow cytometry was adopted to detect CD4 + percentage.Moreover the liver function indexes and HCV-RNA quantitation were detected.80 individuals were selected as the normal control group.Results HCV-RNA quantitation,AST,ALT, CD4 + (%)had statistical differences between the the experimental group and the control group(P <0.05);the HCV-RNA quantita-tion,AST,ALT,CD4 + (%)levels after treatment and 24-week follow-up in the experiment group were significantly decreased(P <0.05).Conclusion The antiviral treatment can effectively reduce the damage of chronic hepatitis C,raise the cure rate,reduce the liver damage.The peripheral blood CD4 + regulatory T cells can be used as the index of the antiviral treatment efficacy and hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection.

ABSTRACT

This review summarized the research status on DNA molecular identification of plants in the genus Chrysanthemum. Some case studies on representative DNA molecular identification techniques, which included ge-nomic in situ hybridization (GISH), DNA molecular markers and DNA barcoding, were described. Simultaneously, the merits, demerits and development of the techniques were discussed. The above work provides evidence for the identi-fication and resource utilization of plants in the genus Chrysanthemum.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the vasodilative action and the possible mechanisms of Shenmai injection on porcine coronary artery.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>Isometric tensions of the porcine coronary artery ring precontracted with potassium chloride (KCl) were recorded in vitro when the doses of 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 50 mL x L(-1) of Shenmai injective were cumulatively added into the organ bath of porcine coronary artery ring.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>Shenmai injection caused same vasorelaxation of porcine coronary artery rings with endothelium intact and denuded precontracted with KCl in a concentration-dependent manner. Pretreatment with TEA and 4-AP prohibited the vasorelaxation by Shenmai injection, but pretreatment with KB-R7943, BaCl2, Gli did not affect the vascular effect of Shenmai injection.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Shenmai injection could produce vasodilatation on KCl pre-contracted porcine coronary artery rings. It seems that K(Ca) and K(V) channel play an important role in the relaxation of the porcine coronary artery rings pre-contracted with KCl.</p>

ABSTRACT

@#Objective To establish animal model of prolactinoma with Fischer 344 (F344) rats.MethodsFemale F344 rats were injected with estradiol benzoate-treated and 0.9% sodium chloride respectively. After 50 days of treatment, MRI scan was performed and animal's living status was observed, and pituitary weight, serum prolactin level, pathological and PRL immunohistochemistry changes were also detected.ResultsAll estradiol benzoate-treated rats formed the prolactinoma after treatment for 50 days and the growth of body weight was retarded obviously. Pituitary weight and serum PRL increased significantly in estradiol benzoate-treated animals compared with those treated with 0.9% sodium chloride. Pituitary adenomas were found in MRI scan and HE stain was positive. The forming rate of tumor was 100%.ConclusionThe animal model of pituitary adenoma established with F344 rat has more characters such as having a short tumor forming period, easy and stable, and coincided with features of prolactinoma.

ABSTRACT

In the present study we measured the lipid peroxide content in plasma and lung homogenate by Yagi's method, and analyzed the composition of surfactant phospholipid and surface activity of pulmonary surfactant by thin layer chrom-otography and by Wilhelmy's film balance.The results showed that the lipid peroxide level was increased in plasma and lung homogenate; licithine,tysopho-spholipidcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine were decreased in bronchial-alveolar lavege fluid; and pulmonary surfactant surface activity was lowered.The findings suggest that decreased surface activity may result from the decrease of disaturated phospholipidcholine, which may be due to its impaired synthesis.
