ABSTRACT

Objective:To construct the postgraduate teaching case database of rotation in department of cardiology, and to explore its application effect.Methods:The postgraduate teaching case base of rotation in department of cardiology was constructed during April 2020 to December 2020. A total of 32 graduate students rotating in Department of Cardiology of Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical University from January 2021 to April 2021 were selected and randomly divided into two groups. The routine group adopted the traditional teaching method, and the research group applied the teaching case base on this basis, both for one month. The examination results, the changes of clinical practice ability before and after the teaching, and the satisfaction with the teaching mode were compared between the two groups. SPSS 22.0 was used for t test and chi-square test. Results:The final results of the theoretical examination and practical operation examination of the two groups were higher than those of the entrance examination ( P<0.05), and the results of the theoretical examination and practical operation examination of the research group were higher than those of the routine group ( P<0.05). The scores of clinical practice ability of inquiry, case analysis, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up in the two groups after teaching were higher than those before teaching ( P<0.05), and the scores of clinical practice ability in the research group after teaching were higher than those in the routine group ( P<0.05). The satisfaction scores on improving examination results, enhancing clinical practice ability, deepening professional understanding and enhancing professional confidence of the teaching mode of the research group were higher than those of the routine group ( P<0.05). Conclusion:The construction and application of postgraduate teaching case base of cardiology rotation can improve the examination results, enhance the clinical practice ability, and achieve the satisfaction of postgraduates.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the early prognosis on patient of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) combined with different degrees of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) undertake lung transplantation (LTx).Methods:From January 2017 to December 2020, the clinical data of 134 patients with IPF who underwent LTx in Wuxi People's Hospital were analyzed retrospectively. According to the average pulmonary artery pressure detected by right cardiac catheter before operation, the patients were divided into mild PAH group (63 cases), moderate PAH group (47 cases) and severe PAH group (24 cases). The donor data and the recipient's preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative data were collected; the postoperative survival curve to analyze early survival among the three patient groups.Results:With the increase of pulmonary artery pressure, the rate of abnormal right ventricular function increased, the end diastolic diameter of left ventricle decreased before operation, and the rate of using veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-A ECMO) increased during the surgery ( P<0.05). Multivariate analysis found that combined severe PAH had significant effects on primary graft dysfunction (Primary graft dysfunction, PGD), retracheal intubation or tracheotomy, hypovolemic shock within 72 h, and 6-month survival after LTx. The survival surve showed that 30-day survival rates of patients with IPF complicated with mild, moderate and severe PAH were 85.7%, 80.8% and 66.7% respectively, and the 6-month survival rates were 80.9%, 74.0% and 62.2%, respectively. Conclusion:Patient of IPF combined with different degrees of PAH had a significant impact on cardiac function and intraoperative ECMO selection of LTx, and severe PAH could significantly reduce the early survival rate after LTx.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the effect of Tongxie Yaofang on the expressions of colon serotonin transporter (SERT), liver 5-hydroxytryptamine<sub>2A</sub> receptor (5-HT<sub>2A</sub>R) protein, serum 5-HT and inflammatory factors in ulcerative colitis (UC) model rats of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency, in order to explore the basis of syndrome of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency and the intervention mechanism of Tongxie Yaofang. Method:Fifty male SD rats were randomly divided into blank control group, model group, high, medium and low-dose Tongxie Yaofang group (10,5,2.5 g·kg<sup>-1</sup>), and salazosulacil group (0.3 g·kg<sup>-1</sup>). The ulcerative colitis model of liver depression and spleen deficiency was established by 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)/ethanol solution enema + restraint stress + diet loss. After successful modeling, the samples were collected after 21 days of drug intervention. Htoxylin eosin (HE) staining and oil red staining were used to observe the pathological changes of colon and liver in each group. Serum interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-9, 5-HT and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Protein expressions of SERT in the colons and 5-HT<sub>2A</sub>R in liver of rats were detected by Western blot. Result:Compared with the normal group, obvious ulcers were formed in the colon and lipid droplets in the liver increased in the model group, serum levels of IL-6, IL-9 and 5-HT in the model group increased, while the level of SOD decreased (<italic>P</italic><0.05). The protein expression of SERT in colon decreased, whereas the protein expression of 5-HT<sub>2A</sub>R in liver increased (<italic>P</italic><0.05). Compare with model group, the pathological damage of colon was improved, and the formation of lipid droplets in liver was reduced in high, medium-dose Tongxie Yaofang groups and sulfasalazine group. The serum levels of IL-6, IL-9 and 5-HT decreased, while the level of SOD increased in Tongxie Yaofang group and sulfasalazine group (<italic>P</italic><0.05). The protein expression of SERT in colon increased in high,low-dose Tongxie Yaofang groups and sulfasalazine group, and the protein expression of 5-HT<sub>2A</sub>R in liver decreased in medium, low dose Tongxie Yaofang groups and sulfasalazine group (<italic>P</italic><0.05). Conclusion:Tongxie Yaofang may reduce the content of 5-HT, and regulate the intestinal motility and sensory system by up-regulating the expression of SERT in the colon, inhibit the expressions of IL-6,IL-9 and other inflammatory factors, and play an anti-inflammatory role, reduce the content of 5-HT and the expression of 5-HT<sub>2A</sub>R in the liver, increase the level of SOD, regulate emotion and lipid metabolism in the liver, and then exert the intervention effect on ulcerative colitis with liver depression and spleen deficiency on the whole.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effects of different concentrations of Astragali Radix containing serum on the expression of 24-hydroxylase(CYP24A1),1α-OHase(CYP27B1) mRNA and protein in rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs), and to explore the mechanism of primary osteoporosis (OP). Method:The experiment was divided into 6 groups,like normal group, model group, low ,middle and high dose group of Astragali Radix containing serum(20%,40%,60%),Vitamin D group. Cell proliferation toxicity assay(CCK-8) was used to detect the effect of different concentrations of Astragali Radix containing serum on survival rate of aging BMSCs.Real-time quantitative PCR(Real-time PCR) and Western blot was used to detect the expression of CYP24A1 CYP27B1 mRNA and protein in senile BMSCs osteogenic differentiation cells by different concentrations of Astragali Radix containing serum. Result:Compared with normal group, the proliferation and survival rate of BMSCs osteoblasts induced by D-galactose in model group was significantly lower than that in normal group (P<0.01). Compared with model group, medium and high dose groups and Vitamin D group could improve the proliferation and differentiation of aging BMSCs into osteoblasts in different degrees(P<0.01). The relative expression of CYP27B1 mRNA and protein in model group was significantly lower than that in normal group, while the relative expression of CYP24A1 mRNA and protein in model group was significantly higher than that in normal group. Compared with model group, high dose Astragali Radix containing serum group could increase the relative expression of CYP27B1 mRNA and protein, and decrease the relative expression of CYP24A1 mRNA and protein in a dose-dependent manner(P<0.01). Conclusion:The mechanism of different concentrations of Astragali Radix containing serum in the treatment of osteoporosis may be related to the regulation of CYP24A1, CYP27B1 mRNA and protein in the osteogenic differentiation of aging BMSCs.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the safety and nosocomial infection control measures of COVID-19 patients of end-stage respiratory failure after lung transplantation.Methods:Lung transplantation was performed for a COVID-19 patient with end-stage respiratory failure after a negative conversion of 2019-nCoV nucleic acid. Before operation, all medical staff received simulated training on nosocomial infection. The procedures were performed in an operation room with a negative pressure environment. The three-grade preventive strategy was implemented and wearing positive pressure protective mask of electric air supply required. During operation, the patient was managed according to the in-hospital protection process. The environment and medical instruments were disinfected after operation.Results:The operation was completed successfully. The 2019-nCoV nucleic acid test was negative for many times after operation. Participants were placed in medical isolation for 14 days after surgery. During the period, nucleic acid test was negative twice.Conclusions:As an exploratory treatment, lung transplantation is a safe option for end-stage respiratory failure in COVID-19 in operation room with a negative pressure environment and implementations of three-grade preventive strategy.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To rapidly identify Cyathula officinalis and its adulterant C. capitata and C. officinalis*C. capitata and doped adulterant. Method: Properties combined with foam test method were used for identifying C.officinalis, its adulterant and doped adulterant. In the aspect of properties,6 aspects including shape,size,texture,color,smell and taste,were observed, smelled and tasted. In the aspect of foam test,the volume of foam produced was used as the determination index to investigate the sample amount,water amount, shaking time,particle size,water temperature,repeatability,adulteration ratio and its stability. Result: In the aspect of properties,C. officinalis and its adulterant showed obvious difference in the shape,size,color,texture,smell and taste,especially the red color and bitter taste of its adulterant. In the aspect of foam test,the optimum parameters were as follows:sample particle (screened with 3 sieves) 0.3 g,a test tube with plug and scale,water 10 mL and airtight,forced shaking up and down for 1 min,settling for 5 min. Such method can be used to identify C. officinalis, its adulterant and doped adulterant. The volume of foams produced by C. officinalis and its adulterant and different ratio of doped adulterant showed no change within 5-30 min,slightly decreases after 9 h; the higher adulteration ratio; the larger volume of foam and better stability. The 8 batches of C. officinalis and 8 batch of adulterants proved that the volume of the foams produced was all less than 2 mL in the C. officinalis,more than 13 mL in the adulterant is,and more than 5 mL in 5% doped adulterant, showing statistical difference. From the properties combined with foam test,5 specific identification elements were obtained for identifying C. officinalis, its adulterant and doped adulterant. Conclusion: Through the 5 specific identification elements,the properties combined with foam test can be used to distinguish the C. officinalis from its adulterant C. officinalis and C. officinalis*C. capitata and doped adulterant,characterized by accuracy,simpleness,short time,low cost and feasibility. It can provide a new method and reference for identifying C.officinalis from its adulterant and doped adulterant.

ABSTRACT

Objective The aims is to predict the monthly incidence of brucellosis in China, in order to understand the epidemic trend of brucellosis in China, to formulate prevention and control strategies, and to provide data support and decision-making basis. Methods The national population and health science data sharing platform was used to collect the national incidence of brucellosis from January 2004 to December 2016 by month. The data were fitted and predicted using ARIMA model with R software. Results In this study, the parameters of the product season ARIMA (2,1,2) (2,1,1)12 model had statistical significance (all P<0.001). The model fitted well the monthly incidence of brucellosis in China. The average relative error between the predicted value and the actual value was 21.77%. The monthly average incidence of brucellosis in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 were predicted to be 0.399 5/100 000, 0.423 8/100 000, 0.445 6/100 000 and 0.471 2/100 000 respectively, showing a gradually increasing trend ( 2=14.244, P<0.001), with a peak incidence from April to July. Conclusion Under natural conditions, the monthly incidence of human brucellosis in China will increase year by year, and corresponding measures should be taken to control it.

Overactivity of the bladder (OAB) has become a serious social and public health problem. Although the study of OAB has been carried out for a long time, the occurrence mechanism is still unclear. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is an important technology to study the central nervous system functional activities. It has been applied in the OAB mechanism research, diagnosis and treatment. However, the mechanism is still unclear, and it is vulnerable to patients' basic disease and emotional state. This article review of the current research progress and application of fMRI in OAB, an overview of current research Results , and hope to provide some clues for the study of the mechanism of OAB.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To study curative effect of different administration routes of tranexamic acid (TXA) on blood loss of elderly female patients with femoral neck fracture in total hip arthroplasty.@*METHODS@#From December 2015 to January 2018, 77 elderly women with femoral neck fractures undergoing total hip replacement were divided into four groups: group A, group B, group C, and group D. The group A (intravenous medication group) included 21 patients with an average age of (77.10±7.02) years old. The patients in group A received 15 mg/kg TXA intravenously 5 minutes before skin incision and intraoperative infusion of saline into the joint cavity. The group B(local medication group) included 18 cases, with an average age of (73.83±6.56) years old. The patients in group B received saline intravenously 5 minutes before skin incision and intraoperative infusion of 3 g TXA into the joint cavity. The group C (combined medication group) included 19 cases, with an average age of (74.26±6.04) year old. The patients in group C received 15 mg/kg TXA intravenously before operation and intraoperative infusion of 1.5 g TXA into the joint cavity. The group D (control group) included 19 cases, with an average age of (76.69±9.27) years old. The patients in group D received saline intravenously 5 minutes before skin incision and intraoperative infusion of saline into the joint cavity. The postoperative wound drainage volume, hemoglobin value, and the total blood loss calculated according to the height and weight and the hematocrit (HCT) before and after operation were observed and compared.@*RESULTS@#In group A, the postoperative drainage was(111.91±35.02)ml; the change of hemoglobin was(26.86±12.99) g/L; and total blood loss was(628.60±306.78) ml. In group B, postoperative drainage was(108.89±36.61) ml; change of hemoglobin was(26.28±8.59) g/L; and the total blood loss was (584.41±250.86) ml. In group C, postoperative drainage was(102.63±47.36) ml; change of hemoglobin was (26.89±12.47) g/L; and total blood loss was(634.78±384.89) ml. In group D, postoperative drainage was(107.37±40.53) ml; change of hemoglobin was(40.95±12.48) g/L; and total blood loss was(1 005.24±483.37) ml. There were no significant differences among 4 groups in postoperative drainage volume (>0.05). The hemoglobin and total blood loss in group A, B, and C were less than those in the group D(0.05).@*CONCLUSIONS@#Application of TXA can effectively reduce blood loss during perioperative period of total hip arthroplasty for elderly women with femoral neck fracture. The best administration route and dosage should be further studied.

ABSTRACT

Cyathula capitate is the main adulterant of C.offinalis. According to the literature reported, there are obvious differences in properties, taste and pharmacological activity between C. capitate and C.offinalis. Therefore, C. capitate can only be used as a local conventional medicine and can't be a substitute for C. offinalis. Since the appearance of C.capitata is very similar to the C.offinalis and the content of cyasterone also can reach the limit of the current pharmacopoeia standard, the C.capitata is mostly sold in the form of impersonation oradmixture, which seriously affected the safety of the clinical medication and the development of the genuine crude drugs. In view of this, HPLC characteristic fingerprint was used to reveal the difference of multi-ingredients of C. offinalis, C. capitata and their admixture. According to the HPLC chromatogram of C.offinalis, C. capitata. and their admixture, 65 different components were obtained to set up a peak area data matrix of 26×65, which was applied to perform the characteristic peak difference analysis, similarity analysis, hierarchical clustering analysis HCA and principal component analysis (PCA). Characteristic peak difference analysis showed that the characteristic peaks of C. capitata and their admixture are more and higher respond than those of C. offinalis. The 9 characteristic peaks were used to distinguish C. capitata, 2 of which were used to distinguish C. offinalis mixed with 5% C. capitata. UV spectra of 9 characteristic peaks are mostly similar to the end absorption spectra of saponins, indicating that C. capitata may contain a large amount of saponins. By the reference fingerprint of C.offinalis established, the similarity analysis showed that the similarity degree of C. offinalis are higher than 0.942, while the similarity degree of C. capitata, C.offinalis mixed with 5% C. capitata are less than 0.383 and 0.399. C.offinalis, C. capitata, C.offinalis mixed with 5% C. capitata could be obviously divided into 3 classes by HCA and PCA. These results showed that there are obvious difference in the chemical composition of C. offinalis, C. capitata and their admixture, which could provide evidence for their identification.

ABSTRACT

The package insert is an important source of drug information which plays a critical role in guiding patients taking the medicine. Package inserts of 60 over-the-counter (OTC) oral drugs produced in the US and OTC oral traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) were collected respectively in order to compare their macrostructure and contents. The results show that there are more moves in package inserts of TCM while the contents of those US drugs are more detailed and complete. The results further deepen the understanding of package inserts as a genre and contribute to the improvement of package inserts of TCM.

ABSTRACT

To explore the therapeutic effect and security of Zisheng decoction recipein treatment of the chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) with intestinal metaplasia(IM). A total of 147 eligible cases were randomly divided into the traditional Chinese medicine group, Western medicine group and the combined group,47 cases in each group. Zisheng decoction recipe, famotidine, as well as Zisheng decoction recipe + famotidine were respectively given in the above three groups, with a treatment course of 30 d. The symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, pathological score of gastric mucosa and the negative rate of Helicobacter pylori before and after treatment were observed in each group.The changes in pepsinogen Ⅰ (PGⅠ), pepsinogen Ⅱ (PGⅡ), gastrin-17 (GAS-17) and endothelin-1 (ET-1)were also detected to compare the efficient and safety indexes in the three groups. The combined group was better than the traditional Chinese medicine groupand the Western medicine group in total effective rate (P<0.05), pathological score of gastric mucosa and the negative rate of Helicobacter pylori, and serum indexes improvement (P<0.05). The improvement in TCM symptom score was more obvious in traditional Chinese medicine group and combined group than the Western medicine group (P<0.05). In the comparison ofincidence of complications,heart, liver and renal dysfunction, the traditional Chinese medicine group (2 case,4.8%)< the combined group (7 case,15.2%) <the Western medicine group (20 case,41.3%) (P<0.05). In the comparison of the blood and urine routine: the traditional Chinese medicine group (7 case,16.7%)< the combined group (14 case,30.4%) < the Western medicine group (24 case,52.2%) (P<0.05).The results showed that there was no significant difference in total effective rate between Zisheng decoction recipe and Western medicine in the treatment of CAG with IM, indicating Zisheng decoction recipe was effective; meanwhile, it had higher safety than famotidine. Zisheng decoction recipe combined with famotidine showed synergistic effect in the treatment of CAG with IM, can reverse the pathological changes of gastric mucosa in a certain extent, and the effect was better than that of Zisheng decoction recipe alone and famotidine alone.

ABSTRACT

Objective To summarize the perioperative clinical effect of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technique in bilateral lung transplantation of patients with idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension.Methods Of 18 recipients with idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension receiving double lung transplantation,there were 11 cases of 11 grade Ⅲ (WHO cardiac function ratings) and 7 cases of grade Ⅳ.All patients were given ECMO technique after anesthetic induction,and the speed and volume of ECMO were adjusted according to oxygenation and cardiac function.At the end of the operation,the ECMO flow rate was decreased to 1 L·min-1 ·m-2.If the hemodynamics was stable and the oxygenation index was above 300,the ECMO could be removed.All data were Collected at 7 time points (preoperation,30 min after two lung ventilation,15 min after ECMO,the establishment of one lung ventilation,30 min after pulmonary artery occlusion,30 min after pulmonary artery open and at the end of the operation).The prognosis of the recipients was observed postoperatively.Results All patients successfully completed operation under the support of ECMO technique.As compared with preoperation,PaO2 and PaCO2 were significantly increased at 30 min after two lung ventilation (P<0.05).As compared with 30 min after two lung ventilation,PaO2 was significantly elevated (P<0.05),PaCO2 and PAP were reduced at 15 min after ECMO (P<0.05).As compared with 15 min after ECMO,PAP was significantly increased at 30 min after pulmonary artery occlusion (P<0.05).As compared with 30 min after pulmonary artery occlusion,PAP was significantly reduced at 30 min after pulmonary artery open (P < 0.05).ECMO of 3 patients was removed after operation at once and of 15 patients were not removed until 3.3 ± 2.5 days in ICU.Tencases suffered from left cardiac insufficiency to varying degrees after removing ECMO (including 3cases whose ECMO was removed at once after operation),3 of them received ECMO bypass again and 7 of them were relieved after administration of cardiotonic,diuretics and vasodilators.Two cases sufferred from wound fat liquefaction and infection and 2 cases had moderate femoral artery thrombosis after postoperative ECMO.One case had renal failure 5 days after operation and thereafter died of multiple organ failure 2 weeks later after treatment with the continuous ECMO pipelines of hemofiltration,then 17 cases were cured.The pulmonary arterial pressure of all recipients was (30.79 ± 6.18) mmHg 2 months after operation and the cardiac function rating was significantly increased (P <0.01).Conclusion The application of ECMO technique in the lung transplantation patients with idiopathic pulmonary hypertension can reduce the pulmonary arterial pressure,improve the safety of operation and has obvious auxiliary effect on the perioperative cardiac function.

Objective:To study therapeutic effect of trimetazidine on patients with angina pectoris after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)and its influence on endothelial function and exercise tolerance.Methods:A total of 108 patients with angina pectoris after primary PCI in our hospital were selected,randomly and equally divided into routine treatment group and trimetazidine group(received trimetazidine therapy since second month after PCI based on routine treatment).Therapeutic effect after treatment,endothelial function and exercise tolerance before and after treatment were compared between two groups.Results:Total effective rate of trimetazidine group was signifi-cantly higher than that of routine treatment group(98.15% vs.83.33%,P=0.008).Compared with before treat-ment,there were significant improvements in angina pectoris onset condition and cardiac function,significant rise in endothelial function and exercise tolerance in two groups after treatment,P<0.05 or <0.01;compared with rou-tine treatment group after treatment,there were significant reductions in mean onset times[(2.91 ± 1.25)times/month vs.(1.72 ± 1.04)times/month]and duration[(2.06 ± 1.08)h vs.(1.24 ± 0.97)h]of angina pectoris,ni-troglycerin dose[(1.21 ± 0.12)g vs.(0.84 ± 0.11)g],depression magnitude[(0.16 ± 0.05)mV vs.(0.13 ± 0.05)mV]and time[(18.64 ± 6.41)min vs.(6.74 ± 4.82)min]of ST segment,T wave inversion magnitude [(0.18 ± 0.04)mV vs.(0.09 ± 0.05)mV]and endothelin-1 level[(50.44 ± 7.43)ng/L vs.(41.08 ± 6.02)ng/L],and significant rise in left ventricular ejection fraction[(54.18 ± 8.25)% vs.(57.82 ± 7.73)%],6min walking distance[(512.74 ± 86.66)m vs.(551.24 ± 84.69)m],fore brachial artery endothelium dependent diastolic-sys-tolic function[(10.08 ± 3.1)% vs.(11.79 ± 3.24)%]and nitric oxide level[(83.14 ± 5.15)μmol/L vs.(116.22 ± 6.54)μmol/L]in trimetazidine group,P<0.05 or <0.01. Conclusion:Trimetazidine possesses good treatment effect on angina pectoris after PCI,and it can effectively improve endothelial function and exercise tolerance,which is worth extending.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the effects of health Qigong Wuqinxi exercise on mild depression in college students and analyze the changes in hydrogen proton magnetic resonance spectra (H-MRS) in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus after the exercise.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Fifty-eight volunteer college students, including 30 with mild depression and 28 healthy students, were randomized into the intervention group and non-intervention group. The students in the intervention group were asked to practice health Qigong Wuqinxi training for 12 weeks and those in the non-intervention group did not engage in such training. For each subject, BECK Depression Self-reported questionnaire (BDI), Hamilton Depression rating scale (HAMD) score, and the metabolic parameters ofH-MRS in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus were evaluated before and after the intervention.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Before the intervention, the scores of BDI and HAMD in the depression group were significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.01), and were lowered obviously after the 12-week intervention (P<0.01). Compared with the control group,H-MRS in the depression group before intervention showed significantly increased NAA/Cr value in the left prefrontal cortex, Cho/Cr value in the bilateral hippocampus and the left frontal lobe, and Cho/Cr value of the left hippocampus and right frontal lobe (P<0.05) with significantly lowered NAA/Cho value in the bilateral prefrontal and Cho/NAA value in the right hippocampus (P<0.05). After 12 weeks of intervention, NAA/Cr value in the bilateral hippocampus and the NAA/Cho value in the right hippocampus were significantly lowered (P<0.05), and NAA/Cho value in the right prefrontal and Cho/NAA value in the right hippocampus were significantly increased (P<0.05) in the depression group. Before the intervention, Pearson correlation analysis showed that the scores of HAMD and BDI were positively correlated with Cho/Cr value in the hippocampus and NAA/Cr value in prefrontal lobe (P<0.01) and inversely with NAA/Cho in prefrontal lobe and Cho/NAA value in the hippocampus (P<0.05); after the intervention, the scores of HAMD and BDI were positively correlated with NAA/Cr value in the hippocampus and Cho/Cr value in the left hippocampus (P<0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Exercise of health Qigong Wuqinxi can reduce depression scale scores in patients with mild depression and improve the metabolic indexes (NAA/Cr and Cho/Cr values) in the prefrontal cortex and the hippocampus.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the protective effects of rutin against learning and memory impairment induced by trimethyltin (TMT) and investigate the possible mechanism.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Forty 6- to 9-week-old male BALB/c mice were randomized equally into saline group (control), TMT group, TMT+rutin group, and rutin group. Mouse models of learning and memory impairment were establish by acute TMT (2.25 mg/kg) exposure. In TMT+rutin and rutin treatment groups, the mice received intraperitioneal injection of rutin (10 mg/kg) for 1 week before TMT exposure. Twenty-four hours after TMT exposure, Morris water maze test was employed to test the escape latency of the mice, and the synaptophysin expression in the hippocampus and cortex were analyzed by Western blotting.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Compared that in TMT group, the escape latency of the mice in water maze test was significantly shorter in the other 3 groups (P<0.05); the escape latency in TMT +rutin group was similar with that in the control and rutin groups (P>0.05). Western blotting showed significantly decreased synaptophysin expression in the hippocampus and cortex in TMT group (P<0.05); synaptophysin expression in TMT +rutin group increased significantly compared with that in TMT group (P<0.05) but showed no statistical significance from that in rutin and control groups (P>0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Rutin pretreatment offers protective effect against TMT-induced learning and memory impairment in mice possibly by antagonizing decreased synaptophysin in the hippocampus and cortex.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the differences in rotation trends of maxillary complex through planting mini-implants in different maxillary positions for the protraction of craniofacial suture, so as to provide reference and basis for the appropriate implantation location in clinical orthodontics. Methods The 3D finite element model of the maxillary complex with mini-implant assisted maxillary protraction was established, and the mini-implants were planted in maxillary infrazygomatic crest and the anterior region (6 mm above the root of bilateral incisors and canine), respectively. Traction force of 500 g was applied to analyze the differences in rotation trend of the maxillary complex at different maxillary positions and in different directions. Results When protracted in maxillary infrazygomatic crest region, the maxilla mainly showed counterclockwise rotation trend. When protracted in anterior region, the maxilla mainly showed clockwise rotation trend. Conclusions Protraction at infrazygomatic crest is more suitable for treating patients with hypodivergent crossbite, while protraction in maxillary anterior region is more suitable for treating patients with hyperdivergent crossbite.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To compare postoperative blood loss under different negative pressures of drainage after total hip arthroplasty for the treatment of femoral neck fractures.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>From January 1st to December 30th 2013, 74 patients with femoral neck fractures treated with total hip arthroplasty were randomly divided into two groups: high negative pressure drainage group and low negative pressure drainage group. In high negative pressure drainage group, there were 34 cases including 10 males and 24 females, with a mean age of (75.94 ± 9.02) years old, and the patients were treated with 60 kPa negative pressure of drainage. In the low negative pressure drainage group, there were 40 cases including 13 males and 27 females, with an average age of (74.93 ± 8.90) years old, and the patients were treated with 30 kPa negative pressure of drainage. The amount of total drainage, total blood loss, and hemoglobin change were compared between these two groups.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>All the patients got primary healing without infections. In high negative pressure drainage group,the change of hemoglobin was (41.74 ± 15.69) g/L, total blood loss was (1,217.73 ± 459.50) ml and the drainage volume was (312.94 ± 103.44) ml; while in low negative pressure drainage group,the results were (34.90 ± 12.90) g/L, (904.01 ± 381.58) ml and (129.25 ± 44.25) ml separately. All the results in high negative pressure drainage group were higher than those in the other group. Three days after operation, the change of hemoglobin was (46.00 ± 13.29) g/L and total blood loss was (1,304.72 ± 421.75) ml; while in low negative pressure drainage group, the changes of hemoglobin was (43.87 ± 11.39) g/L and total blood loss was (1,196.78 ± 344.20) ml; there were no statistically significant differences between two groups.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>When placing drainage devices after total hip arthroplasty for the treatment of femoral neck fractures, the level of negative pressure should be chosen according to preoperative level of hemoglobin and HCT in patients. For old patients with femoral neck fracture, low negative pressure is more suitable.</p>

ABSTRACT

This study was aimed to observe the protective effect of astragalus on bones of vitamin D deficiency rat model. A total of 30 male SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups, which were the control group, model group, and the astragalus group. The experimental period was 8 weeks. After the experiment, enzyme immunoassay was used for the detection of serum 25 hydroxy vitamin D3 [25 (OH)VD3], fibroblast growth factor-23 [FGF-23], Klotho, and HE staining of femur. The results showed that compared with the normal control group, the vitamin D deficiency rat model group had a decrease in both serum 25 (OH)VD3 and Klotho, and a increase in FGF-23, which meant the ex-istence of osteoporosis. Compared with the model group, the astragalus group had a decrease in both the serum 25 (OH)VD3 and FGF-23, and a increase in Klotho, which meant the osteoporosis of the astragalus group had been im-proved significantly. It was concluded that astragalus can regulate FGF-23 and Klotho in vitamin D deficiency rats in order to have a protective effect for bones.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts cultured in the plane on appropriate electrical stimulation, to specify whether it promote the proliferation, and observe expression of BMP-2 on electrical stimulation.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Osteoblasts were extracted from the skull of rabbit offspring and cultured. Cells after the 2nd generations were cultured. In experimental group, cells had electrical stimulation, and same stimulation time and intensity were given. In control group cells had not electrical stimulation. The proliferation and differentiation were detected at different time, and BMP-2 protein expression was analyzed.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The cell morphology of experimental group in 8 days under the light microscope was observed and showed a lot of proliferation of osteoblasts, pleomorphic changes, in 6 to 8 days a small amount of Calcified spots was also observed; while in the control group, proliferation was slower. Differentiation of the experimental group was significantly, alkaline phosphatase staining and calcium nodules were positive, quantitative analysis of alkaline phosphatase increaseed significantly. Experimental group showed that BMP-2 was gradually increased by immunohistochemistry analysis.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Electrical stimulation can promote the proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts and achieved the increasement the number of cells in short-term, intracellular staining by immunohistochemistry showed the increasement in expression of BMP-2.</p>
