ABSTRACT

O envelhecimento progressivo da sociedade demanda maior atenção aos aspectos profissionais de pessoas de meia-idade. Este estudo objetivou compreender os sentidos que 10 brasileiros entre 50 e 59 anos atribuem ao trabalho em um momento de transição de carreira. Trata-se de uma pesquisa fenomenológica, que empregou narrativas compreensivas individuais, elaboradas a partir de um encontro dialógico com cada participante, cujos sentidos e vivências compuseram uma narrativa síntese, representativa do todo. Os elementos estruturantes foram: a) transição profissional como fator de sofrimento; b) construção da identidade pessoal e social por meio do trabalho; c) trabalho como fonte de propósito de vida; d) trabalho como principal espaço de interação social; e) trabalho como recurso financeiro e subsistência foram discutidos a partir da Abordagem Experiencial de Gendlin. Descrevem-se tensões, desafios e a importância existencial do trabalho como mediador de sentidos. Fica evidenciada a necessidade de melhor preparo para transições laborais nessa fase de vida.


The progressive aging of society demands greater attention to the professional aspects of middle-aged people. This study aimed to understand the meanings that 10 Brazilians between 50 and 59-years old attribute to work in a moment of career transition. It is a phenomenological research that used individual comprehensive narratives, elaborated from a dialogical encounter with each participant, whose meanings and experiences comprised a synthesis narrative, representative of the whole. The structuring elements: a) professional transition as a factor of suffering; b) construction of personal and social identity through work; c) work as a source of life purpose; d) work as the main space for social interaction; e) work as a financial resource and subsistence were discussed based on Gendlin's Experiential Approach. Tensions, challenges and the existential importance of work as a meaningfulness mediator are described. The need for better preparation for work transitions in this stage of life is shown.


El progresivo envejecimiento de la sociedad exige una mayor atención a los aspectos profesionales de las personas de mediana edad. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo comprender los significados que 10 brasileños entre 50 y 59 años atribuyen al trabajo en un momento de transición profesional. Se trata de una investigación fenomenológica que utilizó narrativas comprensivas individuales, elaboradas a partir de un encuentro dialógico con cada participante, cuyos significados y vivencias conformaron una narrativa de síntesis, representativa del todo. Los elementos estructurantes: a) la transición profesional como factor de sufrimiento; b) construcción de identidad personal y social a través del trabajo; c) el trabajo como fuente de propósito de vida; d) trabajar como espacio principal de interacción social; e) el trabajo como recurso financiero y la subsistencia se discutieron sobre la base del Enfoque Experiencial de Gendlin. Se describen tensiones, desafíos y la importancia existencial del trabajo como mediador de significados. Se evidencia la necesidad de una mejor preparación para las transiciones laborales en esta etapa de la vida.

ABSTRACT

Que motivações levam os jovens a empregos e organizações? Quantos trabalhadores no mundo de trabalho atual aspiram à reforma na organização, e que tipo de organizações aspiram a ela? Um tema de investigação que contribui para responder a estas questões é o estudo do desenvolvimento da carreira. Após uma revisão bibliográfica, as teorias de Super e Schein são selecionadas e assimiladas criticamente pelas suas contribuições para a compreensão e abordagem do tema a partir de perspectivas individuais e organizacionais, respectivamente. Como resultado da comparação, análise e sistematização das fontes teóricas consultadas, é apresentado um modelo multinível de fases de desenvolvimento de carreira, que inclui a perspectiva de análise dialética das relações entre indivíduos e instituições. As avaliações psicológicas do desenvolvimento potencial podem contribuir tecnicamente para este objetivo.


What motivations move young people to jobs and organizations? How many workers in today's world of work aspire to organizational retirement, and what types of organizations aspire to it? One research topic that contributes to answering these questions is the study of career development. The literature review reveals a lack of theoretical and practical models that address career development from the combined perspective of individual and institutional relationships. As a result of the comparison, analysis, and sys-tematization of the theoretical sources consulted, a model of multilevel career development stages is presented, which includes the perspective of dialectical analysis of the relationships between individuals and institutions and which critically assimilates the theories of Super (1980) and Schein (1996). The meet-ing and coincidence points of the work trajectories of individuals and organizations in the career develop-ment process are highlighted. Psychological interviews and the assessment and feedback method for potential development can technically contribute to this purpose

Em um contexto em que cresce o número de desempregados que têm Ensino Superior, o planejamento de carreira pode ser um diferencial importante tanto no desenvolvimento profissional, quanto na empregabilidade de universitários. O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar as percepções de desenvolvimento profissional e de empregabilidade de universitários que planejam ou não sua carreira. Participaram 2.291 universitários de diferentes cursos e instituições (60% mulheres; média de 27 anos). Os instrumentos adotados foram Escala de Percepção Evolutiva do Desenvolvimento Profissional e Escala de Autopercepção de Empregabilidade, ambas com evidências de validade. Nos procedimentos de análises de dados, utilizamos análise de covariância, a fim de comparar grupos sem o possível efeito de covariantes. Os resultados mostraram que aqueles que planejam a carreira, independentemente do momento do curso em que se encontram ou de participarem de atividades acadêmicas complementares, apresentam percepções mais positivas de seu desenvolvimento profissional e de sua empregabilidade. Esses resultados podem gerar impactos para o planejamento de carreira de universitários e oferecer subsídios para futuras pesquisas sobre desenvolvimento profissional e empregabilidade. (AU)


In a context in which the number of unemployed people with higher education grows, career planning can be an important differential both in professional development and in the employability of university students. The objective of this study was to compare the perceptions of professional development and employability of undergraduate students who plan their career or not. Participated 2.291 undergraduate students from different courses and institutions (60% women; average of 27 years old). The instruments adopted were the Professional Development Evolutive Perception Scale and the Employability Self-Perception Scale, both with evidence of validity. In the data analysis procedures, we used covariance analysis to compare groups without the possible effect of covariants. The results showed that those who plan their career, regardless of the time of the course they are in or participate in complementary academic activities, have more positive perceptions of their professional development and employability. These results can impact undergraduate students in career planning and provide input for future research on professional development and employability. (AU)


En un contexto en el que crece el número de desempleados conestudios universitarios, la planificación de la carrera puede ser un diferencial importante tanto en el desarrollo profesional como en la empleabilidad de los estudiantes universitarios. El objetivo de este estudio fue comparar las percepciones de desarrollo profesional y empleabilidad de los estudiantes universitarios que planifican su carrera y los que no lo hicieron. Participaron 2.291 estudiantes universitarios de distintos cursos e instituciones (60% mujeres; promedio de 27 años). Los instrumentos adoptados fueron la Escala de Percepción Evolutiva de Desarrollo Profesional y la Escala de Autopercepción de Empleabilidad, ambas con evidencia de validez. En los procedimientos de análisis de datos, utilizamos el análisis de covarianza para comparar grupos sin el posible efecto de las covariantes. Los resultados mostraron que aquellos que planean su carrera, independientemente del tiempo del curso en el que se encuentren o de que participen en actividades académicas complementarias, tienen percepciones más positivas de su desarrollo profesional y empleabilidad. Estos resultados pueden afectar la planificación de la carrera universitaria y proporcionar información para futuras investigaciones sobre desarrollo profesional y empleabilidad. (AU)

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To use the career anchor scale to understand the career development route preference of doctors, so as to provide a reference for their individual career planning and positioning, encourage them to realize their personal value, and provide scientific decision-making basis for hospital human resource management.@*Methods@#The career anchor scale was used and a career orientation scale was established. In June 2017, a group sampling survey was conducted among doctors at a university affiliated hospital in Zhejiang province, and 790 valid questionnaires were collected. The questionnaire covered 40 items, with the self-report 6 subscale and the χ2 test used for comparison of rates.@*Results@#Eight types of career anchors were commonly distributed among doctors, among which the technical/functional anchor was the main career anchor, scoring 24.45±5.11 points. There was a correlation between doctors′ career anchors and their career orientations, among which the managerial career anchors scored the highest, with a correlation coefficient of 0.228.@*Conclusions@#The career anchor theory can be used to guide the career development of employees and establish a multi-career development ladder for doctors.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the influencing factors of career planning for nurses aged 30 to 40 years old. Methods Based on descriptive qualitative study, purposive sampling and the maximum variation strategy were used, nurses aged 30 to 40 years old who work at hospitals in Zhejiang province were selected as participants. Face-to-face semi-structured interviews were conducted focusing on influencing factors of career planning and field notes were written. Traditional content analysis was used for analyzing the data, and themes were extracted. The sample size was based on the criteria of saturation. Results A total of 12 participants were included. After analysis, the main influencing factors of career planning were identified: self- perception (such as their own personality, interests and expertise, professional ability, physical condition), knowledge of nursing work (including the cognition of nursing specialty and the nature of nurses' work), career development space (such as career development platform, career development path, career development bottleneck, learning and promotion opportunities), family factors (including family support and family outlook), hospital culture(including interpersonal relationships, leadership support, management style), career planning knowledge(including knowledge of career planning and guidance on career planning in work). Conclusions There are many factors influence career planning. Relevant departments and nursing managers should assist these nurses in making reasonable career planning according to their situation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the teaching effect of career planning course in medical students through questionnaire survey and interview.Methods A total of 54 medical students of the classes of 2017 and 2018 were selected as research subjects,and the career planning course was implemented.Questionnaire survey and interview were performed before and after teaching to measure career maturity index and evaluate the teaching effect of this course.SPSS 15.0 was used for data processing,The t-test was used for comparison before and after teaching.Results All medical students had significant increases in the scores of self-recognition,occupational understanding,information application,personal adjustment,and professional attitude after teaching.As for information application,the score of career maturity was (3.71 ± 0.99) before teaching and (4.01 ± 0.93) after teaching,and there was a significant change after teaching (P=0.015),while there were no significant changes in the other dimensions after teaching.Male students had significandy higher scores of self-recognition,occupational understanding,personal adjustment,and professional attitude than female students,while female students had a significantly higher score of information application than male students.There was a significant difference in professional attitude between male and female students (P<0.05).Conclusion The career planning course for medical students can provide help and inspiration for career development,but some of the teaching contents needs to be optimized and improved.

ABSTRACT

O sucesso na transição do ensino superior para o trabalho é influenciado por uma multiplicidade de fatores associados ao indivíduo, ao seu contexto, bem como à interação entre ambos. O Modelo Social Cognitivo da Transição para o Trabalho organiza conceptualmente a complexidade desta transição e orienta a sua investigação. O presente estudo visa avaliar se a autoeficácia na transição no trabalho prediz o sucesso obtido nesta transição, um ano após a conclusão do curso. Os resultados evidenciam o potencial preditivo da autoeficácia relativamente à satisfação com o percurso académico-profissional e com o trabalho, o que vem salientar a pertinência de intervenções psicoeducativas com o objetivo de desenvolver a autoeficácia na transição para o trabalho em estudantes do ensino superior.


Success in the transition from higher education to work is influenced by a multiplicity of factors associated with the individual, his/her context, as well as their interaction. The Transition-to-Work Social Cognitive Model conceptually organizes the complexity of this transition and guides its research. The present study aims to evaluate if transition-to-work self-efficacy predicts the success obtained in this transition, one year after obtaining a bachelor degree. The results show the predictive potential of self-efficacy in relation to satisfaction with the academic-professional course and the work, which highlights the pertinence of psychoeducational interventions aimed at developing self-efficacy in the transition to work of students from higher education institutions.


El éxito en la transición de la enseñanza superior al trabajo está determinado por una multiplicidad de factores asociados con el individuo, su contexto y la interacción entre ambos. El Modelo Social Cognitivo de la Transición al Trabajo organiza conceptualmente la complejidad de esta transición y orienta su investigación. El presente estudio pretende evaluar si la autoeficacia en la transición al trabajo predice el éxito obtenido en esta transición, un año después de la conclusión de la carrera universitaria. Los resultados evidencian el potencial predictivo de la autoeficacia respecto a la satisfacción con la trayectoria académico-profesional y con el trabajo, lo que viene a subrayar la pertinencia de intervenciones psicoeducativas con el propósito de desarrollar la autoeficacia en la transición al trabajo en estudiantes de enseñanza superior.

Resumo Objetivo: O objetivo deste estudo foi descrever os pontos de vista de estudantes de doutorado em enfermagem antes do início e durante o doutorado sobre mudanças no planejamento da carreira e prioridades de pesquisa. Métodos: O estudo foi de natureza qualitativa, tendo sido realizado com 16 entrevistas no Instituto de Ciências da Saúde, Faculdade de Enfermagem. Foram realizadas entrevistas individuais com 16 estudantes de doutorado matriculados em diferentes especialidades acadêmicas. Após as entrevistas, as gravações de áudio foram primeiramente transcritas e depois categorizadas. Os dados foram submetidos a análise de conteúdo. Resultados: Após análise de conteúdo, três temas principais ("mudanças no planejamento da carreira", "prioridades de pesquisa" e "desenvolvimento") e seis categorias foram formuladas a partir dos dados obtidos. Os participantes afirmaram ter consciência de ter feito várias mudanças nos planos de carreira ao iniciar seu projeto de doutorado, e o trabalho no projeto mudou o desenvolvimento profissional e melhorou as habilidades acadêmicas. Conclusão: Nossos resultados indicam que os estudantes de doutorado devem ser apoiados para serem eficazes na carreira, e a formação no período pós-doutoral também deve ser apoiada. Políticas efetivas em relação ao aperfeiçoamento de enfermeiros doutorandos também devem ser desenvolvidas e implementadas com base em evidências sólidas da utilidade desses suportes.


Resumen Objetivos: El objetivo de este estudio fue describir los puntos de vista de estudiantes de doctorado en enfermería sobre cambios en la planificación de la carrera y prioridades de investigación antes del inicio y durante el doctorado. Métodos: El estudio fue de naturaleza cualitativa, habiendo sido realizado con 16 entrevistas en el Instituto de Ciencias de la Salud, Facultad de Enfermería. Se realizaron entrevistas individuales con 16 estudiantes de doctorado matriculados en diferentes especialidades académicas. Después de las entrevistas, las grabaciones de audio fueron transcritas, en primer lugar, y luego categorizadas. Los datos fueron sometidos a análisis de contenido. Resultados: Después del análisis de contenido y, a partir de los datos obtenidos, se formularon tres temas principales ("cambios en la planificación de la carrera", "prioridades de investigación" y "desarrollo") y seis categorías. Los participantes afirmaron tener conciencia de haber hecho varios cambios en los planes de carrera al iniciar su proyecto de doctorado: el trabajo en el proyecto cambió el desarrollo profesional y mejoró las habilidades académicas. Conclusión: Nuestros resultados indican que los estudiantes de doctorado deben ser apoyados para ser eficaces en la carrera, igualmente, también es necesario apoyar la formación en el período postdoctoral. Las políticas efectivas en relación con el perfeccionamiento de enfermeros doctorandos también deben ser desarrolladas e implementadas con base en evidencias sólidas de la utilidad de esos soportes.


Abstract Objective: The aim of this study was to describe the views of nursing doctoral student before beginning and during training doctoral programs about career planning changes and research priorities. Methods: The study was of qualitative design. The study was carried out with 16 interviews with Health Sciences Institute Faculty of Nursing. Individual interviews were with 16 doctoral students enrolled in different academic specialties following the interviews, the audio recordings were first transcribed and then categorized. The data were analyzed by content analysis. Results: Data was analyzed by content analysis and then three main themes, namely "changes in career planning," "research priorities," and "development," and six categories were formulated from the data obtained. The participants stated that upon starting their doctoral program, they were aware that they had made various changes in their career plans also doctoral program had affected their professional development and improved their transferable skills. Conclusion: This study's results suggest that doctoral students should be supported so that they can be effective in their careers, and that post-doctoral education should also be supported. Effective policies concerning the improvement of doctoral nurses should also be developed and implemented based on evidence demonstrating the usefulness of these supports.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: This study was a correlational research to examine the relationship between career plateau, career planning, social support and turnover intention experienced by nurses in the clinical nursing field. METHODS: Participants were 237 nurses working in general hospitals with 100~300 beds located in G Metropolitan City. Data were collected from September 26 to October 6, 2016, and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, univariate ANOVA, Scheffé test, correlation analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were conducted. RESULTS: Participants' turnover intention was positively correlated with career plateau (r=.38, p < .001), structural career plateau (r=.31, p < .001) and content plateau (r=.35, p < .001), but negatively correlated with social support (r=−.38, p < .001), supervisor support (r=−.36, p < .001), peer support (r=−.32, p < .001), and career planning (r=−.15, p=.043). Factors associated with participants' turnover intention were supervisor support (β=−.22, p=.006), structural career plateau (β=.19, p=.012), and content career plateau (β=.14, p=.047). CONCLUSION: Results suggest that structural career plateau, content career plateau, and supervisor support are related to nurses' turnover intention. To lower nurses' turnover intention, alternative ways must be developed to improve the structure of nursing organizations to address career plateau and establish an organizational culture that can be supported by supervisors.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the situation and influential factors of hospital pharmacist career planning and career satisfaction and their relationship. METHODS:The questionnaire modified according to"general career planning and career satisfaction scale"was adopted for questionnaire survey among pharmacists in 5 third grade class A hospitals by simple random sampling. The factor analysis was used to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. The influential factors of career planning and satisfaction degree,the relationship of career planning with satisfaction degree were analyzed by multiple regression analysis and Spearman correlation coefficient. RESULTS:Totally 210 questionnaires were sent out and 198 were effectively received,with effective recovery of 94.28%. Cronbach'α value of reliability and validity test was 0.939(>0.6),and KMO value was 0.905(close to 1). Results of survey showed that there was statistical significance in the effects of gender,age,marital status, work experience,professional title and position on career planning(P<0.05). There was statistical significance in the effects of age and professional title on satisfaction degree(P<0.05). Different dimensions of career planning(self-assessment,career awareness and action,position questions)were positively correlated with career satisfaction degree(total correlation coefficients were 0.649,0.633,0.694). CONCLUSIONS:Career planning is mainly influenced by gender,age,marital status,work experience,professional title and position. Career satisfaction degree is greatly influenced by age and position.The better the career planning is,the higher the satisfaction is. It is suggested to conduct professional training of hospital pharmacists by referring to the theory and experience of management,help pharmacists to fully understand the job responsibilities and do a good job in the position of professional roles. The establishment of scientific and effective career planning management system improves self-management ability of hospital pharmacists and career satisfaction degree,and promotes the development of discipline.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the status quo of the career planning of the second child nursery under the two-child fertility policy, and to provide reference for carrying out the targeted management intervention. Method From April to May of 2017, 592 nurses of the second child were surveyed using the general data questionnaire and the career planning scale. Results The nurses' career planning score (34.81 ± 3.59) was different, and the career planning of the two nurses with different age, job title, title, establishment, department and income and fertility was different and statistically significant. Nurses with plan to a second child are with less desire to further study and promotion than those without plan to a second child (all P<0.001) promotion to open more than two children before the low policy (P <0.05). Conclusion Nurses' career planning for births is on a middle level. Nursing managers should pay attention to the management of nurses' career planning , create a career development environment , provide humanistic care , strengthen self-awareness and career self-development of nurses who have two births , so as to improve the level of their career planning to promote the nursing team development.

Este artículo explora las necesidades de orientación profesional de 1816 usuarios de servicios públicos de empleo, en relación con las competencias requeridas para la planificación del proyecto vital y profesional. Pretende identificar diferencias entre la población general y los grupos de atención prioritaria (mujeres, jóvenes, personas con baja cualificación, parados mayores de 45, población rural). La recogida de información se realizó a través de un cuestionario diseñado ad-hoc. Los resultados permiten identificar tres dimensiones en el conjunto de necesidades de orientación profesional: 1. las relativas a la gestión de la carrera profesional, a 2. la planificación de metas realistas y a 3. la búsqueda de empleo, en las que se encuentran diferencias significativas en función de alguna o varias de las variables consideradas.


Este artigo aborda as necessidades de orientação profissional de 1816 usuários dos serviços públicos de emprego, em relação às competências requeridas para o planejamento dos projetos de vida e profissional. Como objetivo, pretende identificar as diferenças entre a população geral de usuários e os grupos de atenção prioritárias (mulheres, jovens, pessoas com baixa qualificação profissional, desempregados com mais de 45 anos, população rural). A coleta de informação foi realizada através de um questionário ad-hoc. Os resultados permitem identificar três dimensões nas necessidades de orientação vocacional: 1. as relativas à gestão de carreiras profissionais, 2. o planejamento de metas realistas e 3. a procura por emprego, nas quais se encontrou diferenças significativas com base em uma ou mais variáveis sócio-demográficas consideradas na pesquisa.


This article explores the career counseling needs of 1816 users of employment public services, in relation to the competencies required for the planning of the vital and professional project. It aims to identify differences between the general population and the priority attention groups (women, young people, people with low skills, unemployed over 45, rural population). The collection of information was done through an ad-hoc designed questionnaire. The results allow to identify three dimensions in the set of career counseling needs: 1. those related to career management, 2. realistic goal planning and 3. job search, in which are found significant differences depending on one or several of the variables considered.

A orientação de carreira durante a graduação tem os objetivos de potencializar a experiência acadêmica dos estudantes e formar alunos mais preparados para a entrada no mercado de trabalho e mais satisfeitos com suas escolhas profissionais. A participação de estudantes em empresas juniores pode configurar-se como uma estratégia deliberada, ou emergente, de desenvolvimento de carreira na graduação e um campo privilegiado de estudo e de intervenção vocacional no ensino superior. Neste artigo, discute-se a importância das empresas juniores como um espaço de exploração de carreira e também de fortalecimento da identidade profissional de seus membros. Ainda, discute-se a possibilidade de aproximação entre as atividades da psicologia organizacional e do trabalho (POT) e da psicologia vocacional, a partir de reflexões sobre uma prática de estágio de psicologia em uma empresa júnior da área de alimentos, na Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Career guidance for undergraduates aims to enhance the academic experience of students and train graduates better prepared for the labor market and more satisfied with their career choices. One deliberate career development strategy may be the participation of students in junior enterprises. This is an emerging and therefore a privileged field of study and intervention in the area of vocational development during undergraduate studies. In this article, we discuss the importance of junior enterprises as spaces for career exploration and for strengthening the professional identity of its members. Also, we discuss the possibility of a closer relationship between the activities of work and organizational psychology and vocational psychology, using the reflections on a psychology internship experience in a junior enterprise in the food industry. ABSTRACT

O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a relação entre vida acadêmica e exploração vocacional, bem como possíveis diferenças em razão das variáveis sexo, idade e curso. Participaram 213 formandos que frequentavam diversos cursos em uma universidade particular do interior doestado de São Paulo, com idades entre 21 a 57 anos (M=24,62 anos), sendo 64,8% do sexo masculino. Foram utilizadas a Escala de Avaliação da Vida Acadêmica (EAVA) e a Escala de Exploração Vocacional (EEV). Os resultados indicaram correlações significativas e positivas entre os fatores da EAVA e as subescalas da EEV. Foram encontradas diferenças estatisticamentesignificativas com maiores médias para as mulheres nos dois instrumentos, para os estudantes da faixa etária dos 21 a 23 anos na EAVA, para o curso de Fisioterapia na EAVA e para Psicologia na EEV. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between academic life and career exploration, as well as possible differences due to gender, age and course. It took part 213 trainees which were attending various courses at a private university in the state of São Paulo, aged from 21 to 57 years (M=24.62 years), with 64.8 % male. It was used the Scale for Assessment of Academic Life (EAVA) and the Scale of Vocational Exploration (EEV). The results showed significant and positive correlations between the factors of EAVA and the subscales of EEV. It was found statistically significant differences with higher averages for women in the two instruments, for students of the age group of 21-23 years in EAVA, for thecourse of Physiotherapy in EAVA and Psychology in EEV. El objetivo de este estudio fue investigar la relación entre la vida académica y la exploración de carreras, así como las posibles diferencias por sexo, edad y curso. Participaron 213 estudiantes de diversos cursos en una universidad privada en el estado de São Paulo, con edades entre 21 a 57 años (M=24,62años), siendo el 64,8 % hombres. Los instrumentos fueron la Escala de Evaluación de la Vida Académica (EAVA) y la Escala de Exploración Vocacional (EEV). Los resultados mostraron una correlación significativa y positiva entre los factores de la EAVA y las subescalas EEV. This study aimed to explore how 86 youths of both sexes and of different social classes and levels of education who were attending courses considered as traditionally feminine or masculine made their choices and traced their career plans. Course of Medical Students' Career Planning can help medical students to establish occupation view and make occupation career planning better. Medical humanism should be demonstrated during the whole process of medical education. Medical humanism meets the moral requirements for the doctor occupation and the development of medical science should be based on it. [Purpose] To find out the status and existing problems of graduate career planning education, and suggest some corresponding measures to up-grade the work of graduate career planning education of university of traditional Chinese medicine, and propose some improvements to enhance the com-prehensive ability and improve the quality of graduate students of TCM, and promote graduate employment.[Method] We view from the point of graduate career planning education, through the questionnaires and personal interviews to find out the status and existing problems of graduate career planning edu-cation. [Result]This study shows that, 76.87% graduate students of TCM have a more clear understanding for their personal abilities, 63.27% know what they want to engage in professional development trends, 76.56%know the importance of career planning affirming sexual attitudes,but only 35.12%express satisfaction to the graduate employment guidance,and each graduate's career expectations are not high.[ Conclusion] The university of traditional Chinese medicine should enhance graduate career planning education according to the actual school graduate, to establish a scientific and effective career planning e-ducation system to help students establish a correct concept of career employment, and promote and maintain sustainable development of personnel training mechanism TCM col eges.

O Programa de Educação para a Carreira (PEC) foi desenvolvido para ser aplicado ao Ensino Fundamental, de 1ª ao 4ª ano, com o objectivo geral de desenvolver conhecimentos, atitudes e aptidões relativos à carreira ao longo da escolaridade. O objectivo específico deste programa é desenvolver o auto-conhecimento, a exploração educacional e ocupacional e o planejamento da carreira. Foi aplicado em 20 escolas, envolvendo 1394 alunos. A análise dos anos de frequência do PEC confirmou a eficácia do mesmo, conduzindo a um maior desenvolvimento de todas as dimensões de carreira, nas crianças com maior número de anos de frequência do PEC, o que permite concluir a boa qualidade do programa, assim como da viabilidade da sua implementação.


The Educational Career Program was developed to be used with elementary school students, from the 1st to the 4th grade, with the general aim of developing their knowledge, attitudes and skills related to career along their elementary education. The specific objective of this program is to develop self-knowledge, educational and occupational exploration and career planning and was applied in 20 schools involving 1,394 students. The analysis of program attendance duration confirmed its efficiency, leading to a further development of all aspects of career, with children who attended the program, for alonger time, which indicates the good quality of the program, as well as the feasibility of its implementation.


El Programa de Educación para la Carrera (PEC) se desarrolló para ser aplicado a la Enseñanza Primaria, de 1º a 4º grado, con el objetivo general de desarrollar conocimientos, actitudes y aptitudes relativas a la carrera a lo largo de la escolaridad. El objetivo específico de este programa es desarrollar el autoconocimiento, la exploración educacional y ocupacional, y el planeamiento de la carrera. Se aplicó en 20 Escuelas involucrando a 1394 alumnos. El análisis de los años de frecuencia del PEC confirmó la eficacia del mismo, conduciendo a un mayor desarrollo de todas las dimensiones de carrera en los niños con mayor número de años de frecuencia del PEC, lo que nos permite deducir tanto la buena calidad del programa como la viabilidad de su implementación.
