ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to evaluate whether the environment and the sociodemographic and clinical variables of the family member and the infant vertically exposed to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) interfere in the home opportunities for infant motor development. This is a cross-sectional study, in Southern Brazil, carried out between December 2015 and September 2017, with 83 family members and their respective infants vertically exposed to HIV, using two instruments: infant and family questionnaire and the Affordances in the Home Environment for Motor Development - Infant Scale. Analysis was performed with Pearson and Spearman correlation and simple linear regression. Opportunities (affordances) were moderately adequate, with significant positive associations between the variables of age of the family member and infant, education level, and presence of a sibling exposed to HIV and the dimensions of physical space, variety of stimulation, and toys for gross and fine motor skills. We conclude that the sociodemographic variables of the family member and the infant interfered in the opportunities for infant motor development at home.

ABSTRACT

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China′s public hospitals are facing important development opportunities as well as many difficulties and challenges. Using PEST model, this study analyzed the macro-environmental factors of the development of public hospitals in China from four aspects: political environment, economic environment, social environment and technological environment. The authors proposed relevant countermeasures and suggestions to promote the high-quality development of public hospitals, including implementing functional positioning and promoting differentiated and synergistic development, strengthening operation management and enhancing the capacity for high-quality development, and building smart hospitals and stimulating new efficiency in service management.

ABSTRACT

Objective To design a non-invasive non-contact physiological parameters monitoring system to realize physiological status real-time monitoring. Methods The system was developed with Arduino hardware and its integrated development environment,high-precision high-sensitivity GY-MCU90615 infrared thermometric module and Si1143 heart rate and blood oximeter module, which was composed of five parts of physiological parameters acquisition, development platform,COM port transmission, network transmission and data terminal. Results The desired requirements were met by continuous, non-invasive,non-contact and accurate monitoring of body temperature, oxygen saturation and heart rate. Conclusion The system gains advantages in design and convenience, and thus is worthy promoting for physiological parameters monitoring in the hospital, geracomium and home.

ABSTRACT

Although judo is a traditional Olympic Sport in Brazil, little is known regarding the key aspects to develop talents at the national scenario. The objective of this study was to analyze the psychosocial supporting factors that are seen in the development of talented male Brazilian Judo athletes. A sample of 6 athletes that were in the Athens Olympic Games of 2004 was studied. Research was designed on qualitative basis and used a three open questions interview as investigative tool. Results were analyzed using the discourse of the collective subject. Discourses indicated as important, factors related to: a) family support; b) pleasure in practice; and c) athletes determination, reinforcing the international scientific literature regarding the importance of psychosocial factors to talent development in several knowledge domains.
