ABSTRACT

@#eToyBox is a learning management system for preschool teachers to improve their health literacy, which ultimately aims to improve children’s obesity-related behaviour. As part of the development process of eToyBox, assessment on digital literacy, acceptance of digitization of education materials, and perceived barriers in adopting online learning is needed. Fifty-four preschool teachers under the Community Development Department (KEMAS) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Sarawak, who participated in ToyBox Study Malaysia intervention in 2018, took part in this cross-sectional study. An online self-administered questionnaire was used to assess sociodemographic background, use of communication tools and media, and teacher’s views on adapting the ToyBox modules to digital education materials. Respondents were contacted, and questionnaire link was shared through WhatsApp messages. Most participants (74.0%) were Malay females aged 31 to 40 years old. Most participants had internet access (94.4%) and owned at least a smart phone, laptop or tablet (94.4%). Participants perceived their computer skills to be average (75.0%). Majority of respondents (65.0%) reported advanced and higher abilities in word processing and email, but only 22.0% in spreadsheet skills. The main barrier to accessing online material was unstable internet connection (74.1%). Most respondents (90.0%) agree that adapting effective modules to online learning will be beneficial for professional development and teaching practices. In conclusion, most participants supported digitizing Toybox Study Malaysia educational content and were comfortable 72 with its implementation via an online learning platform. The findings from this study can advise future development of online learning materials for preschool teachers in Malaysia.

Introducción: La situación de pandemia, intrincada por el miedo y la incertidumbre por sucesos sanitarios con secuelas sociales, laborales y económicas, acompañados de confinamiento, mediatizó la enseñanza presencial hacia la enseñanza virtual para asistir a los estudiantes en sus asesorías de tesis. Objetivo: Describir la experiencia de estudiantes de enfermería sobre la asesoría virtual de tesis académica en una universidad privada en Perú. Métodos: Investigación cualitativa con abordaje descriptivo exploratorio, ejecutada de agosto a octubre del 2021. La población estuvo integrada por 35 estudiantes de enfermería de una universidad privada de Chiclayo, Perú, que cursaban el último semestre, y la muestra, obtenida por la técnica de saturación y redundancia, por 13 estudiantes. Para recolectar los datos se usó la entrevista semiestructurada a través de la plataforma Zoom previo consentimiento informado. Luego se procesó la información con el análisis de contenido temático. Resultados: Se obtuvieron cuatro categorías: a) Beneficios de la asesoría virtual, b) Dificultades de la asesoría virtual, c) Uso de medios de comunicación digital para la asesoría virtual y d) Sugerencias para mejorar la asesoría virtual de la tesis académica. Conclusiones: Los estudiantes de enfermería han experimentado mayor acompañamiento del asesor de tesis y ahorro económico al recibir la asesoría virtual de su tesis académica, aunque presentaron dificultad con el uso de Internet, sobre todo al inicio de la COVID-19. Dicha asesoría se desarrolló a través del Zoom, Meet de Google, WhatsApp, correo y llamadas telefónicas. De modo que la asesoría virtual se podría mantener en el futuro(AU)


Introduction: The pandemic situation, complicated by fear and uncertainty due to health-related events with social, labor and economic sequels, as well as accompanied by lockdown, encouraged the reorientation of face-to-face teaching towards virtual teaching with the aim of advising students in the completion of their thesis. Objective: To describe the experience of Nursing students with respect to virtual academic thesis advising at a Peruvian private university. Methods: A qualitative research with an exploratory descriptive approach was conducted from August to October 2021. The population consisted of 35 Nursing students from a private university in Chiclayo, Peru, who were in their last semester; while the sample, obtained using the saturation and redundancy technique, was 13 students. To collect the data, a semistructured interview was carried out through the Zoom platform with prior informed consent. Then, the information was processed using thematic content analysis. Results: Four categories were obtained: a) benefits of virtual advising, b) difficulties of virtual advising, c) usage of digital media for virtual advising, and d) suggestions for improving virtual advising of academic thesis. Conclusions: Nursing students have experienced greater accompaniment from their thesis advisors, as well as economic savings, when receiving virtual advising for their academic thesis; although they presented difficulties with the use of Internet, especially at the beginning of COVID-19. Such advising was developed through Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp, email and phone calls. Therefore, virtual advising could be maintained in the future(AU)

Introducción: A consecuencia de la pandemia por la COVID-19, se han implementado herramientas digitales en la formación del universitario de enfermería, entre las cuales se ubica al portafolio digital o electrónico en diferentes asignaturas, pero existen escasos estudios en torno a su uso en el proceso de la tesis. Objetivo: Describir el uso del portafolio digital en la tesis académica según las experiencias de los estudiantes de enfermería en una universidad privada. Métodos: Investigación cualitativa descriptiva realizada en una universidad privada de Chiclayo, Perú, entre julio y agosto del 2021. La población la conformaron 32 estudiantes de enfermería que cursaban la asignatura de Tesis II. La muestra, integrada por 16 estudiantes, fue por conveniencia y lograda por el criterio de saturación y redundancia de los datos. En el acopio de datos fue usada la entrevista semiestructurada con modalidad virtual a través de plataforma Zoom y WhatsApp, con precedente de consentimiento informado. Los datos fueron procesados por análisis de contenido. Resultados: Se obtuvieron cuatro categorías: a) Implementación de una herramienta para la tesis, b) Información ordenada, evidencia en avances y acceso a evaluación, c) Complicación ante la falta de Internet, tiempo y distribución de información en carpetas, d) Efectivo uso del portafolio digital para el futuro. Conclusiones: El uso del portafolio digital con uso del google drive constituye una herramienta útil para la recolección de datos y el informe de la tesis, por ser de fácil acceso, seguro y de alta capacidad de almacenamiento. Pero en tiempos de pandemia, donde las clases son virtuales, los estudiantes experimentaron dificultades con la conectividad a Internet(AU)


Introduction: Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, digital tools have been implemented in the education of nursing students, including the digital or electronic portfolio in different subjects, but there are few studies on its use in the thesis process. Objective: To describe the use of the digital portfolio in the academic thesis according to the experiences of nursing students in a private university. Methods: Descriptive qualitative research conducted in a private university in Chiclayo, Peru, between July and August 2021. The population consisted of 32 nursing students taking the Thesis II course, the sample, composed of 16 students, was by convenience and achieved by the criteria of saturation and redundancy of the data. For data collection, a semi-structured interview with virtual modality was applied through the Zoom platform and WhatsApp, with the precedent of informed consent. The data were processed by content analysis. Results: four categories were obtained: a) Implementation of a tool for the thesis, b) Ordered information, evidence in progress and access to evaluation, c) Complication due to lack of Internet, time and distribution of information in folders, d) Possibility of the effective use of the digital portfolio for the future. Conclusions: The use of the digital portfolio with the use of google drive constitutes a useful tool for data collection and thesis report, because it is easy to access, secure and has a high storage capacity. But in times of pandemic, where lessons are virtual, students experienced difficulties with Internet connectivity(AU)

ABSTRACT

Introduction : We are moving towards a technically advanced Medical Education. However, effectiveness of online Teaching, Learning (T/L) remained unknown until COVID-19 pandemic.Aim : This study was planned to assess the perception of e-educators towards online T/L, the challenges and possible solutions during pandemic. Methodology : A mixed method cross-sectional study was conducted among 126 medical educators through online google survey from July to September, 2020 in a Tertiary Heath Care Institute & 2 neighbouring medical college. Result : Non response rate was 32%, 72.2% were males, 63.9% were between 31 to 50 years of age, 58% were having 10 or more years teaching experience. 36.2% were from basic sciences, 69.5% were holding higher academic post. 61% preferred combination of face to face and e-learning Although online classes were helpful in terms of 63.8% convenience, (54%) flexibility, 77.5% felt difficulties teaching and assessing skills domain. The major challenges encountered were technical glitches, no active participation and suggested solutions were technical assistance, formative assessments and use of new T/L, assessment tools. Conclusion : Although the change was negatively perceived, it’s inevitable. Training of faculties, sensitization of students and conducive environment is needed to combat the challenges, to improve the e-education system in health profession.

Background:Digital health literacy and digital skills should become prerequisite competencies for health professionals to facilitate the implementation and leverage the potential of digital technologies to improve health. The primary objective of our study was to investigate perceptions of medical students on the role of online teaching in facilitating medical education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Material And Methods:A cross-sectional study wasconducted at the national level using both offline and online (mixed) survey for a period of 3 months (Dec -Feb2020) with a self-administered questionnaire devised on the basis of a literature search “on current online teaching methods following the Covid-19 pandemic situation”among the Post Graduate medical students. Result:Our Study response s consisted of post graduate medical students (n=398) across Indiaamong them 29.9% agreed to that online teaching is helpful during covid-19 situation. Some of the barriers includeexperience, mode of accessing, tools used, internet facilities, availability of Audio-visual aids, user friendlinessof soft-ware. Conclusion:During Covid -19 pandemic online lectures provided a sustainable method of teaching-learning.Some of the facilitators in our study include web learning teaching mode, feasibility of class timing, easy grabbing of information, able to answer during online exam or class.

ABSTRACT

Resumen La capacitación a los docentes es clave para la adopción de las TIC en la educación; sin embargo, en los proyectos establecidos en México se detectó que la mayoría de ellos no la incluye, este mismo problema existe en el proyecto Kids on Computers, principalmente por el desconocimiento del software instalado en los sistemas operativos Ubermix y Raspbian de los laboratorios de cómputo de Huajuapan de León, Oaxaca, México. Este trabajo muestra evidencias de la necesidad de formación en competencias digitales por parte de los docentes que integran el caso de estudio. Se utilizó una metodología documental y de campo con un enfoque cuantitativo y se aplicó la técnica de recolección de datos por medio de una encuesta que tomó como base las recomendaciones por parte de organismos internacionales para diseñarla. Los resultados arrojan que sólo el 20% de ellos reporta haber tenido capacitación formal en el área de tecnología y en relación con el nivel de experiencia en el uso de las TIC, la mitad de ellos se considera en el nivel de principiante y la otra mitad con nivel medio. Se propone un plan de formación para los docentes estableciendo los objetivos y contenidos de los cursos con los elementos teórico-prácticos que les permitan utilizar las aplicaciones. Se ha iniciado la capacitación con tareas básicas del sistema operativo, posteriormente se generó un catálogo de las aplicaciones instaladas con respecto al uso que podría dárseles para compartirlo con los docentes e ir seleccionando aquellas que les resulten más útiles.


Abstract Teacher's training is fundamental to incorporate TIC in education programs; even though, most projects in Mexico don't include it, the same problem appears in Kids on Computers, mainly because the lack of knowledge about the software installed over Ubermix and Raspbian in the computer labs in Huajuapan de Leon, Oaxaca, Mexico. This work shows evidence on the need of teacher's training in digital skills within the study case. A statistical field test methodology has been used with a quantitative approach, data is collected from a survey that was designed following the recommendations of international organizations. Results report that only 20% of the sample have been trained in TIC, the half of them consider theirself in the beginners level and the other half in the intermediate level. A training program is proposed, course goals and content are adjusted to include theory-practice knowledge that allows the use of the software applications. First, they start with operative systems basics and then a catalog of apps classified upon educative criteria was generated to share that information with teachers and select those that result more useful to them.

ABSTRACT

Los registros médicos han ido transformándose desde ser exclusivamente basados en papel a ser, en muchos casos, exclusivamente digitales. Este cambio se ha dado gradualmente: inicialmente aislados del sistema local o nacional de información en salud y luego en proceso de integración o ya completamente interconectados con todo el sistema. Esto fue gracias al acceso de la sociedad a sistemas electrónicos que pueden comunicarse e intercambiar datos entre sí de manera ágil y tecnológicamente interoperable. Existen sin embargo aún grandes retos sobre cómo lograr esta interoperabilidad, así como el establecimiento de la seguridad, privacidad y confidencialidad de los datos; sin embargo, los registros médicos en formato digital son hoy una poderosa e indispensable herramienta para la toma de decisiones, la formulación de políticas y la adecuada gestión de la salud pública.


Os prontuários médicos foram se transformando desde ser exclusivamente em papel para ser, em muitos casos, exclusivamente digitais. Essa mudança tem acontecido gradativamente: inicialmente isolada do sistema local ou nacional de informação em saúde e depois em processo de integração ou já totalmente interligada a todo o sistema. Isso graças ao acesso da sociedade a sistemas eletrônicos que podem se comunicar e trocar dados de forma ágil e tecnologicamente interoperável. No entanto, ainda existem grandes desafios para atingir essa interoperabilidade, bem como o estabelecimento da segurança, privacidade e confidencialidade dos dados; entretanto, os prontuários em formato digital são hoje uma ferramenta poderosa e indispensável para a tomada de decisões, a formulação de políticas e a gestão adequada da saúde pública.


Medical records have been transforming from exclusively paper-based into, in many cases, exclusively digital. This change has occurred gradually: initially isolated from the local or national health information system and then in the integration process or already completely interconnected with the entire system. This is due to the society's access to electronic systems that can communicate and exchange data with each other in an agile and technologically interoperable way. However, there are still great challenges on how to achieve this interoperability and to establish data security, privacy, and confidentiality; however, medical records in digital format are today a powerful and indispensable tool for decision-making, policy formulation, and proper public health management.

ABSTRACT

En este artículo se analizan los resultados obtenidos al corroborar la factibilidad de los videos tutoriales elaborados e implementados, como material de apoyo, para lograr el correcto manejo de la plataforma Open Journal Systems de la revista MEDISAN. Asimismo, se investigan los factores reales que aún inciden en el flujo de todas las etapas del proceso editorial y los actores en cada una de ellas; además, se efectúan recomendaciones sobre cómo socializar los videos, una vez que se han puesto a disposición de la comunidad de autores y revisores y del resto de los profesionales que necesiten interactuar en la plataforma para la edición de una revista electrónica.


In this article the results obtained when corroborating the feasibility of the elaborated and implemented video tutorials, as support material to achieve the correct use of the Open Journal Systems platform in the journal MEDISAN are analyzed. Also, the real factors that still impact on the flow of all the stages of the editing process and the actors in each of them are investigated; also, recommendations are made on how to socialize the videos, once they are at the disposal of the authors and reviewers community and for the rest of the professionals who need to interact in this platform for the publishing process of an electronic journal.

Introducción: En la actualidad las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones forman parte activa de la educación mundial. Vivimos tiempos de grandes transformaciones tecnológicas, que modifican la manera de enseñar y aprender, en los cuales el acceso y la generación de conocimientos pasan a ser los motores del desarrollo para generar competencias perdurables. Objetivo: Evaluar la efectividad de un programa de alfabetización digital en estudiantes de primer año de la carrera de Fonoaudiología. Métodos: Este estudio tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo y un diseño preexperimental. La población se constituyó por 393 estudiantes. Se utilizó muestreo no probabilístico con 48 alumnos; en todos ellos se implementó un programa de alfabetización digital, que contempló una evaluación inicial, un período de intervención de 13 sesiones con frecuencia semanal y una evaluación final. Los datos del pre- y postest se procesaron y analizaron mediante la prueba T para muestras relacionadas, que aceptó un nivel de significancia p < 0,01. Resultados: Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que el conocimiento y manejo de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones aumentó luego de la implementación del programa de alfabetización digital, en el que se destacó un incremento en Base de datos, Excel®, Publisher® (p < 0,01). Conclusiones: El programa de alfabetización digital se asoció a un mayor conocimiento y uso de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones, cuando estos fueron vinculados a los procesos de enseñanza aprendizaje en alumnos de primer año de la carrera de Fonoaudiología. Podría esperarse, por tanto, que los programas de estudio consideren su uso como recurso didáctico(AU)


ABSTRACT Introduction: Information and communications technologies are an active component of global education. These are times of great technological transformations which modify the way people teach and learn. Access to and generation of knowledge have become the driving forces of development aimed at creating long-lasting competences. Objective: Evaluate the effectiveness of a digital literacy program for first year phonoaudiology undergraduates. Methods: A quantitative pre-experimental design study was conducted of a population of 393 students. Non-probability sampling was used with 48 students, who were taught a digital literacy program which included an initial evaluation, an intervention period of 13 weekly sessions, and a final evaluation. Pre- and post-test data were processed and analyzed with the t-test for related samples, which admitted a significance level of p < 0,01. Results: Results show that knowledge and management of information and communications technologies increased upon implementation of the digital literacy program, notably in Database, Excel® and Publisher® (p < 0,01). Conclusions: The digital literacy program was associated to greater knowledge about and use of information and communications technologies when these were linked to teaching-learning processes among first year phonoaudiology undergraduates. It could therefore be expected that curricula would consider its inclusion as a didactic resource(AU)

ABSTRACT

Esta investigación analiza cómo las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) son una herramienta para la integración social de grupos desfavorecidos. Para ello, se ha estudiado la relación existente entre el grado de competencia digital de un grupo de jóvenes en exclusión social de los Programas de Cualificación Profesional Inicial de la Fundación Federico Ozanam de Zaragoza (España) y su sentimiento de pertenencia al grupo social mayoritario. Se ha evaluado la posesión de capacidades sociales, las denominadas habilidades para la vida establecidas por la Organización Mundial de la Salud, los hábitos relacionales e informativos y el sentimiento de empoderamiento de la muestra en contextos digitales. El objetivo era averiguar si existía una relación directamente proporcional entre estos factores y el sentimiento de integración. Los resultados son positivos en la mayoría de indicadores estudiados.


This research project aims to assess how information and communication technologies (ICTs) are a tool for the social integration of disadvantaged groups. To that end, we studied a group of young people in social exclusion from the Initial Professional Qualification Programs of the Federico Ozanam Foundation in Zaragoza (Spain); we focused on the relationship between their level of digital literacy and their feeling of integration in the main social group. We evaluated their social capacities, their life skills as defined by the World Health Organization, their relational and informative habits and their feeling of empowerment in digital contexts. The goal was to find out if the relationship between these factors and their feeling of integration was directly proportional. The results were positive for most of the indicatives studied.


O estudo visa avaliar se as Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) são ferramentas para a inclusão social de grupos desfavorecidos. Com esse intuito, estudamos um grupo de jovens em exclusão social participantes dos Programas de Qualificação Profissional Inicial da Fundação Federico Ozanam em Zaragoza (Espanha) e a relação entre seu nível de competência digital e seu sentimento de pertença ao grupo social majoritário. Analisamos as capacidades sociais, as chamadas habilidades de vida estabelecidas pela Organização Mundial da Saúde, os costumes relacionais e informativos e o sentimento de empoderamento da amostra em contextos digitais. O objetivo era descobrir se existia uma relação diretamente proporcional entre estes fatores e o sentimento de integração. Os resultados foram positivos na maioria de indicativos estudados.

ABSTRACT

a presente revisión pretende realizar un ejercicio reflexivo sobre las implicaciones epistemológicas del surgimiento de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) y su inclusión en el currículo educativo. Para esto se revisan distintos conceptos de educación a través del contexto histórico, así como el fin mismo de la educación considerando la perspectiva de distintas personas pensadoras y expertas desde sus teorías socioeducativas. Finalmente se examinan algunas teorías de aprendizaje que, a consideración de la autora y los autores, respaldan la nueva concepción de un proceso de aprendizaje que debe incluir el uso de las herramientas tecnológicas y, en consecuencia, establecer las pautas para la alfabetización digital de docentes y estudiantes


he present review aims to perform a reflexive exercise on the epistemological implications of the emergence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and their inclusion in the educational curriculum. For this propuse, the paper reviews the different concepts of education through the historical context, as well as the very purpose of education considering the perspective of different thinkers and experts from their socio-educational theories. Finally, it examines few learning theories that, on consideration of the authors, support the new conception of a learning process that must include the use of technological tools, and, consequently, establish guidelines for the digital literacy of teachers and students.

ABSTRACT

Introducción. Esta investigación se ha realizado en un aula ocupacional de un centro de Educación Secundaria en el que el alumnado proviene de ambientes desfavorecidos y con una escasa motivación hacia el aprendizaje. Objetivo. Los objetivos que nos planteamos en este trabajo son recuperar el interés de alumnos de perfil absentista por su formación, y conseguir que estos reflexionen sobre su consumo de contenidos mediáticos mediante el uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y de la Comunicación. Materiales y método. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se ha llevado a cabo una metodología de investigación-acción en la que diseñamos una tarea compleja sobre la lectura de prensa digital utilizando como instrumentos la wiki y el blog para publicar contenidos elaborados por los propios alumnos. Resultados. Los resultados muestran que el desarrollo de contenidos referidos a una educación para los medios trabajada sobre un soporte digital capta el interés de estos alumnos y les ayuda a desarrollar su actitud crítica. Conclusiones. Este tipo de prácticas se nos presenta como una acción que puede ser apropiada para este complejo y arduo escenario educativo.


Introduction. This research work has been made in an occupational classroom at a secondary education school in which students come from poor environments and with a lack of motivation to learn. Objective. To recover the interest of usually absent students, given their formation, and have them reflect on their consumption of media contents by the use of IT. Materials and method. The researchaction methodology has been applied, by the use of a complex task designed for reading digital press using as tools a wiki and a blog, in order to publish contents elaborated by students themselves. Results. The results obtained demonstrate that the development of contents addressed towards an education to consume media, with a digital basis, captures the interest of the students and helps them to develop their critical attitude. Conclusions. Practices of this sort appear as an action that can be appropriate for this complex and hard educative scenario.

Esta investigação se há realizado numa sala ocupacional de um centro de Educação Secundária na qual o alunado provem de ambientes desfavorecidos e com uma escassa motivação para a aprendizagem. Objetivo. Os objetivos que nos planteamos neste trabalho são recuperar o interesse do alunos de perfil absentista por sua formação, e conseguir que estes reflexionem sobre seu consumo de conteúdos mediáticos mediante o uso das Tecnologias da Informação e da Comunicação. Materiais e método. Para o desenvolvimento da investigação se levou a cabo uma metodologia de investigação-ação na qual desenhamos uma tarefa complexa sobre a leitura da imprensa digital utilizando como instrumentos o wiki e o blog para publicar conteúdos elaborados pelos próprios alunos. Resultados. Os resultados mostram que o desenvolvimento de conteúdos referidos a uma educação para os meios trabalhada sobre um suporte digital capta o interesse destes alunos e lhes ajuda a desenvolver sua atitude crítica. Conclusões: Este tipo de práticas nos apresenta como uma ação que pode ser apropriada para este complexo e árduo cenário educativo.

ABSTRACT

No âmbito do envelhecimento e aposta na aprendizagem intergeracional para desenvolver a literacia digital, este trabalho recorre à Teoria da Ação Planeada para analisar a intenção de jovens universitários ajudarem idosos a adquirirem competências digitais. Com aplicação de questionário a 135 estudantes, os resultados enfatizam a promoção de estratégias educacionais pró-sociais que reforcem o valor da solidariedade e o desenho de programas significativos para ambas as gerações.


In the context of ageing and the need to focus on intergenerational learning to develop digital literacy, this study applies the Theory of Planned Behaviour to analyse university student’s intentions to help seniors acquire digital skills. We applied a questionnaire to 135 students and the results enphasise the need to promote educacional pro-social strategies to enhance the value of solidarity and designing meaningful activities for both generations.

Purpose] This paper discusses, in the information era, how to improve col ege English teachers ’ digital literacy. [Method] A questionnaire survey is carried out of the status of col ege English teachers ’ digital literacy in Zhejiang. [Results]Only 25% universities where the respondents work are wel equipped with adequate digital facilities.54% respondents haven ’t received any training in digital technologies and teaching methods. Most of respondents (90%) are interested in digital technologies;however, only 56%of them often use them in class. 90%respondents consider it necessary to receive training in digital teaching technologies. [Conclusion] Firstly, local universities should offer teachers better teaching facilities, more educational resources and training courses; secondly, education of digital literacy and teaching courses should be combined; final y, teachers should possess a correct judgment and improve their awareness of negative information in the virtual environment with self-protection consciousness.

Introducción: los procesos de aprendizaje tradicionales han sufrido transformaciones importantes en la actual sociedad de la información. La Alfabetización Informacional,surge como necesidad social y económica,y, en este sentido, las universidades están llamadas a asumir un papel protagónico y son múltiples los modelos descritos internacionalmente. Objetivo: describir las experiencias en procesos de Alfabetización Informacional en instituciones de Educación Superior en los últimos 5 años. Metodología: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, utilizando el método del análisis documental, la exploración de recursos de información en línea y el empleo motores de búsqueda como Google y Scirus. Resultados: se describen normas y modelos aplicados en la Educación Superior a nivel internacional y se identificaron experiencias en universidades de Ciencias Médicas y otros sectores, destacando procesos nacionales dirigidos a la formación de competencias informacionales en estudiantes, profesores y trabajadores de bibliotecas, entre otros. Conclusiones: se concluye que en el ámbito universitario se han propuesto diversos modelos y normas para la Alfabetización Informacional a nivel internacional, específicamente en países desarrollados. En Cuba, se destacan experiencias en Centros Provinciales de Información en Ciencias Médicas y universidades.


Introduction:traditional learning processes have undergone important transformations in today's information society. The informational literacy, emerges as a social and economic necessity, and in this sense, universities are called upon to assume a leading role and there are multiple models described internationally. Objective: to describe experiences in processes of information literacy in higher education institutions in the past five years. Methods: a descriptive study was performed using the method of the documentary analysis, exploration of online information resources and employment search engines such as Google and Scirus. Results: Standards and models applied in higher education at the international level are described and identified experiences in medical sciences universities and other sectors, emphasizing national processes aimed at the formation of information skills in students, teachers and workers of libraries, among others. Conclusions: concludes that at the University level, various models and standards have been proposed for the informational literacy at international level, specifically in developed countries and Cuba highlighted experiences in provincial information centres in medical sciences and universities.

Para testar a hipótese de que um processo de alfabetização digital melhora as capacidades cognitivas de idosos, mais especificamente as memórias episódica e de trabalho, a meta-memória e a autoeficácia em memória, constituíram-se dois grupos experimentais (GE) com, no total, 22 idosos que participaram de uma Oficina de Inclusão Digital. Esses construtos foram avaliados pré e pós-atividades, sendo que o desempenho do GE foi comparado ao de um grupo controle (GC) com 16 participantes também idosos. Após 19 oficinas de duas horas cada, verificou-se que as alterações nos processos cognitivos dos participantes, observadas na presente investigação, não podem ser atribuídas a esse processo educacional. In order to test the hypothesis that digital literacy skills improve the elderly cognitive performance, more specifically episodic and working memory, meta-memory, and auto-efficacy in memory, two experimental groups (EG) were created. The groups were formed with a total of 22 elderly people who participated in a workshop on Digital Inclusion. The constructs were assessed in pre- and post-activities. EG performance was compared to a control group (CG) composed by other 16 elderly participants. After 19 workshops of two hours each, the changes in cognitive processes of the elderly which were observed in this research cannot be assigned to the educational process evaluated. ABSTRACT

Apresentam-se os resultados iniciais do projeto de Inclusão Digital de agentes comunitários de Saúde (ACS) de Sergipe, Brasil, quando da realização das práticas de alfabetização em Informação e Comunicação (ALFIN), por meio de Oficinas desenvolvidas como estratégia de aproximação entre os ACS de Sergipe e as Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC). Identificam-se caminhos efetivos de infoinclusão social, fundamentando-se na Teoria da Ação Comunicativa de Habermas e nos estudos de Paulo Freire. Utiliza-se a abordagem de pesquisa qualitativa e a tipologia do Estudo de Caso e do Grupo Focal para o esquadrinhamento das práticas de ALFIN a distância.


This article presents the initial results of the Project of Digital Inclusion of Community Health Agents (CHA) of Sergipe, Northeastern Brazil, when they carried out the practice of literacy in Information and Communication. This happened through workshops developed as a strategy for putting the CHA of Sergipe in contact with the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Effective ways of social infoinclusion are identified, based on Habermas' Theory of Communicative Action and on Paulo Freire's thought. The qualitative approach was used, as well as the typology of Case Study and Focus Group for scrutinizing the practices of literacy in Information and Communication, using distance learning.


Este artículo presenta los primeros resultados del proyecto de Inclusión Digital de agentes comunitarios de salud (ACS) de Sergipe, Brasil, en el ejercicio de la práctica de la alfabetización en Información y Comunicación (ALFIN) a través de talleres desarrollados como una estrategia para aproximar los ACS de Sergipe y las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC). Busca identificar formas eficaces de inclusión social con base en la Teoría de la Acción Comunicativa de Habermas y en el pensamiento de Paulo Freire. Utiliza el enfoque cualitativo y la tipología de los Estudios de Caso y del Grupo de Enfoque para examinar las prácticas de ALFIN a distancia.

ABSTRACT

Com base em análises da matriz de Língua Portuguesa do Saeb, utilizada em avaliações de larga escala no Brasil, este trabalho discute a vinculação dessa matriz às prá ticas de leitura e à cultura escrita impressa, além de propor uma reflexão sobre a com plexidade dos descritores que compõem a matriz em relação às práticas de leitura reais. Propõe-se a diferenciação entre matriz de avaliação e matriz de ensino, assim como se considera de suma importância que o ato de ler seja abordado em seus aspectos multi modais e relativos ao letramento digital.


Based on an analysis of the Saeb's Matrix on Portuguese Language, widely used in evaluations in Brazil, we discuss in this paper the relationship of this matrix to reading practices and printed writing culture. We also propose a discussion about the complexity of abilities that compose the matrix, as far as real reading practices are con cerned. We propose the necessity to make a clear distinction between a matrix for eval uation purposes and a matrix designed for teaching purposes. It is also very important to consider aspects related to the multimodal and digital literacy as a crucial part of the act of reading.

ABSTRACT

Este artigo aborda o letramento digital no interior da discussão sobre a formação de professores, reportando-se às experiências construídas em um grupo de pesquisa orientado pela perspectiva psicológica histórico-cultural. Apresentadas algumas definições de letramento digital, reflete-se sobre os desafios postos à escola pelo confronto com as novas práticas de leitura e escrita propiciadas pelos usos do computador e da internet. Em seguida, analisa-se como, em sua formação inicial e continuada, os professores são preparados para a inserção dessas tecnologias em suas práticas pedagógicas e para compreenderem o letramento digital de seus alunos. Ao final, situa-se o professor na era da internet, em seu lugar insubstituível de mediador e problematizador do conhecimento, que adota uma posição aberta e ao mesmo tempo crítica diante do que essa tecnologia digital oferece.


This article has approached the digital literacy in the internal discussion on teacher training, reporting the experiences constructed in a research group guided through the psychological historical-cultural perspective. Having presented some definitions of digital literacy, we could reflect upon the challenges posed to the educational system by the confrontation with new reading and writing practices made possible by the use of computers and the internet. Next, we analyzed how teachers, in their initial and continued training program, are prepared to the insertion of these technologies in their pedagogical practices and how to understand their student's digital literacy. At the end, teachers are placed in the internet age, in their irreplaceable task as knowledge mediator and questioner, adopting an open position, and, at the same time, a critical one, on the face of what this digital technology offers.

Para reflexionar, como corolario, que en la actualidad Alicia tendría acceso a un montón de bonitos documentos multimedia, de mayor o menor calidad, a través de múltiples caminos. Sin embargo, conocer su verdadero valor y aptitud es un privilegio que por su incipiente formación aún no ha alcanzado. ¡Este es su reto!


Alice wants to study with amusing books filled with colorful drawings. "Alice's adventures in Wonderland" serves as excuse to introduce and discuss the current importance of digital literacy and how communication and information technologies have changed the way of transmitting and disseminating knowledge. Considering as a corollary, Alice today would have access to a multitude of beautiful multimedia documents, of greater or lesser quality, available through multiple paths. However, given her incipient education, knowing their true worth and aptitude is a privilege she has yet to obtain. This is her challenge!
