After the activities of quality control circle in Library of Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center were summarized, the use of electronic resources in staff of Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center and related problems were analyzed with suggestions put forward for optimizing and effectively using its electronic resources, and impro-ving its management level.

Utilization of electronic resources by the students depends largely on some factors pertaining to the users, especially E resource service and satisfaction. Therefore, the study investigated the influence of e- resources service and satisfaction about the usage of electronic resources by the students in self financing colleges affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. The survey research design was adopted in the study with the questionnaire as a major instrument for data collection. Simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques were adopted to select self financing colleges and 216 respondents. The study recommended that measures should be taken to increase the level of e-resources service among the students for increasing the usage of available electronic resources in the academic libraries.

E-Resources have great importance in libraries and amongst the library users. The present study has been undertaken with an attempt to information the usage pattern of electronic resources. The faculties of students are mainly drawn from different parts of affiliated colleges of Barathidasan University and few from other parts of the country which represent truly cosmopolitan population. For that purpose, survey method has been adopted by the investigators, which comprises of administration of questionnaire, observation of the participants, and interview of some of the participants for knowing the opinion of the respondents in respect of information of electronic resources for their academic and research activities. Five hundred and ninety-one papers retrieved from CAJD on performance assessment of electronic re-sources in domestic libraries from 2004 to 2013 were retrospectively analyzed by biliometrics, which showed that these papers focused on the description of projects,methods of assessment,and establishment of assessment indexes. The following problems were pointed out, such as weakness in research strength, tendency to stress theories, inopera-tive methods used in studies, and single-valued achievements, with suggestions put forward for their solution such as intensifying cooperation and focusing on practice in future studies.

The user information needs, being one of the core elements in modem library, is the basis for survival and development of modern library. In the digital and network environment, the electronic resources are increasingly becoming the main part of information resources. The Library of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences is the central library of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in China, and therefore how to use limited funds to build an optimal, most rational and sustainable development guarantee system of TCM electronic resources is its new task in the information age. This paper discussed the objective and principles of building guarantee system of TCM electronic resources, and also put forward some measures and strategies about constructing it from eight aspects.

Este hecho ha potenciado la aplicación de los principios y métodos de usabilidad, que conforman una herramienta de incuestionable valor para crear entornos de interacción hombre-máquina más sencillos, fiables y seguros. Se exponen algunos de los principios fundamentales de la usabilidad, así como sus métodos y procesos de aplicación en entornos generales. Por último, se establece una propuesta con las características propias de la aplicación de la usabilidad a sedes Web de bibliotecas universitarias.
Abstract Integrated access to different information resources has turned academic libraries catalogues in a fundamental element for specialized information retrieval. This circumstance has reinforced the application of principles and usability, which constitute a very valuable tool in order to create simpler, more reliable and safer human-computer interactions environments. This article is centred on the essential principles of usability and on its processes to be applied in general fields. Finally, a methodological proposal for measuring usability characteristics in academic libraries websites is suggested.
