ABSTRACT

Urinary bladder neoplasm is the 10 most common cancer in the world, predominantly affecting males. Nowadays incidence of urinary bladder carcinoma in female has increased. It is a uncommon type carcinoma of urinary bladder. It resembles to non-keratinizing carcinoma of nasopharynx. This study report a case of 65 years old male presented with painless gross hematuria for 3 weeks. Patient was a known case of Meckel's diverticulum. Ultrasonography and cystoscopy showed a mass on lateral wall of urinary bladder measuring 3x3 cm . A radical cystectomy of the urinary bladder tumor was done. He was diagnosed as case of lymphoepithelioma like carcinoma of urinary bladder along with benign prostate hyperplasia and Meckel's diverticulum was made with stage 2. According to the WHO classification criteria, Lymphoepithelioma like carcinoma is a subtype of undifferentiated carcinomas. Immunohistochemical stains are helpful to differentiate Lymphoepithelioma from primary lymphoma of the bladder. Differentiation of LELCB from urothelial carcinoma is important, since it has better prognosis compared to pure urothelial carcinoma. It is important to diagnose this neoplasm for therapeutic as well as prognostic purpose.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of children infecting with Epstein -Barr virus. And in purpose to improve the knowledge of children infecting with Epstein -Barr virus. Methods We analyzed retrospectively to 97 cases of children which serodiagnosis of Epstein -Barr virus infectius in the aspects of the onset season, the age, clinical characteristics. And compared with complication group and no complication group in the aspects of the white cell count, neutrophils to white cell count ratio, lymphocyte to white cell count ratio and C -reactive protein. And contrasted the presence of statistical difference. Results The peak months were spring and summer(58 cases);Pre -school age was the peak age of EBV infectious(41 cases),and the rest respectively were toddlers age(33 cases),school age and youth(20 cases)and infant period(3 cases). The most frequently clinical manifestation respectively was pharyngitis, and other such as fever, lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly. There had no statistical difference in the two groups of complication group and no complication group in the aspects of the white cell count, neutrophils to white cell count ratio, lymphocyte to white cell count ratio and C -reactive protein(P >0.05).Conclusion The infant can suffer from infectious mononucleosis infect with EBV.Infectious mononucleosis have a variety of clinical manifestation, which always have some complications. The diognosis should combinate clini-cal manifestation with laberatory test.

ABSTRACT

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently defined systemic Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive T-cell lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD) of childhood as a life-threatening illness. However, this rare disease has not been extensively studied. Here we report a case of systemic EBV-positive T-cell LPD in a previously healthy middle-aged man with a chief complaint of chronic diarrhea. The initial colon biopsy showed focal infiltration of EBV-positive small lymphocytes without any atypia. However, the disease rapidly progressed and the patient required a total colectomy due to severe gastrointestinal bleeding. Three and half months after admission, the patient died from a complication of disseminated intravascular coagulation. The resected colon showed diffuse infiltration of EBV-positive atypical lymphocytes with ischemic change. Most atypical lymphocytes were CD3+ or CD5+. The monoclonality of EBV was demonstrated by sequence variation analysis of the latent membrane protein 1 (LMP1) gene in the colectomy specimen as well as in the initial biopsy.

ABSTRACT

Plasmablastic lymphoma (PBL) of the oral cavity is an acquired immunodeficiency syndrome-related lymphoma. The immunophenotype of this disease is associated with poor expression of B-cell markers but a positive reactivity for plasma cell markers. PBL is highly aggressive and responds poorly to treatment. Although originally described in the oral cavity, this disease can occur in other body niches. Here, we describe a very rare case of PBL in the anal canal of a 40-year-old woman with human immunodeficiency virus infection. The malignant cells were positive for Epstein-Barr virus and human herpes virus 8.
