ABSTRACT

Modern literature on the physical property of the-source point were collected from Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) and China Biology Medicine(CBM) databases. The physical property, relevant diseases and-source acupoints were analyzed through statistical analysis of literature metrology. It is considered that articles on the electrical resistance of acupoint account for the largest part, which are mainly related to hyperthyreosis and the change of menstrual cycle. The second part is radiation spectrum, which are mostly relevant to the coronary heart disease and then the physiological change of healthy people. As to the diseases, articles of cardiovascular diseases are taken the most proportion, which were treated with the 12-source points,Shenmen(HT 7) and Daling(PC 7). Also, the results present the physical property of-source acupoints in themeridians is more sensitive to diseases and the physical property is specific to diseases. Besides,the-source acupoint can show the pathological changes of its own meridian.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the occurrence of clinical adverse drug reaction (ADR) of tonic Chinese medicinal herbs. Methods Articles about ADR of tonic Chinese medicinal herbs reported from January 1990 to February 2014 were collected from databases of CNKI, VIP, CBM, Pubmed and Embase according to incorporation and exclusion standard. Metrology analysis was also conducted. Results Totally 378 effective articles showed tonic Chinese medicinal herbs most likely to induce ADR were as follows:individual Chinese medicinal herbs including Polygoni Multiflori Radix, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Lycii Fructus and Astragali Radix;injection containing Shenmai Injection, Shengmai Injection and Acanthopanax Injection;other herbal preparation covering Polygoni Multiflori tablets. The most common ADR involved the damage on skin tissue, nervous system and digestive system, with prominent relevant clinical symptoms such as itching, skin rash, dizziness, unconsciousness, nausea, vomiting, and liver dysfunction. Conclusion Correct understanding adverse reaction of tonic Chinese medicinal herbs will be conducive to rational drug use and avoiding risk.

ABSTRACT

This study was aimed to analyze the domestic relevant documents since 1991 involving Si-shen Decoc-tion and its individual component drugs with knee osteoarthritis biomarkers. This article took medical journal databases of CBMdisc, CNKI, SWIC and Wanfang as sources of information, and searched respectively with key words such as knee osteoarthritis and biomarkers, Si-shen Decoction or Leguminosae, Dendrobium,Achyranthes bidentata, Polygala tenuifolia Willd, Lonicera Japonica and biomarkers such as matrix metalloproteinase, cartilage oligomeric matrix protein, collagen type II C-telopeptide. Bibliometric analysis was given on the acquired relevant documents. The results showed that among 340 documents about knee os-teoarthritis and biomarkers, IL-1, TNF-α and MMPs are mostly used to respond the index of cartilage degenera-tion. Among 565 documents about Si-shen Decoction and its individual component drugs with biomarkers, they are mostly concentrated on the index of TNF-α, IL-1 and oxygen free radical, and the research methods are relatively mature. It was concluded that the bibliometrics method has certain significance in the effect of Si-shen Decoction in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. More study is required to provide evidence in the development of Si-shen Decoction into a specific prescription for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To review literature from 1954 to 2007 and explore the regularity of point selection and methods for acupuncture-moxibustion treatment of cerebral palsy. Methods: A comprehensive analysis was made by a method of metrological analysis according to the data from China Modern Acupuncture-moxibustion Information Databank. Results: Points Zusanli (ST 36),Quchi (LI 11) and Hegu (LI 4) were most frequently used. Head points Baihui (GV 20) and Sishencong (Ex-HN 1) were also frequently used. Acupuncture, scalp acupuncture and acupuncture point injection were the major treatments. Conclusion: Acupuncture intervention can improve the therapeutic effect on cerebral palsy. It is suggested that Baihui (GV 20), Sishencong (Ex-HN 1),Zusanli (ST 36), Quchi (LI 11) and Hegu (LI 4) be selected as a basic prescription for acupuncture-moxibustion treatment of cerebral palsy.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To review year 1957-2005 literature on acupuncture and moxibustion and explore point selection and methods for acupuncture-moxibustion treatment of diarrhea in order to provide objective and reliable data for research on acupuncture and moxibustion standardization. Methods: A comprehensive analysis was made by a method of metrological analysis according to the data from China modern acupuncture-moxibustion information database. Results: Points Zusanli (ST 36), Tianshu (ST 25) and Shenque (CV 8) were the most frequently used and the optimal combination for acupuncture-moxibustion treatment of diarrhea.Chronic adult diarrhea was often treated by moxibustion. Acute childhood diarrhea was often treated by point application and injection. Conclusion: Diarrhea is often treated by needling and moxaing methods in acupuncture-moxibustion treatment. It is proposed to use Zusanli (ST 36)and Tianshu (ST 25) as a basic prescription for acupuncture-moxibustion treatment of diarrhea and to select points according to the syndrome.

To explore the state of domestic academic research on hospital administration, the authors, using the descriptive statistical method, investigated the literature on hospital administration included by CBMdisc from 1980 to 1998. The results are as follows. In the past 19 years, the output of literature on hospital administration has been growing steadily. The distribution of such literature has been rather dispersed. There lacks a specialized and ampre- hensive database of such literature. Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration and Chinese Hospital Administration are two major professional periodicals devoted to literature on hospital administration, publishing one fifth of the literature in this aspect. And Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration, the chief and most important key periodical devoted to literature on hospital administration, has become a professional periodical which is indispensable and of first choice to hospital administration personnel.
