ABSTRACT

@#Objective To explore the effect of ultrasound therapy on dysphagia caused by radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods From February to December, 2017, 60 patients with radiation-induced dysphagia for nasopharyngeal carcinoma were randomly divided into control group (n = 30) and treatment group (n = 30). All the patients accepted routine rehabilitation and balloon dilatation. The treatment group received ultrasound therapy, and the control group received placebo ultrasound. They were evaluated with Kubota Drinking Water Test (KDWT) and Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Study (VFSS), and the interincisor distance were measured to determine the clinical effect, before and six weeks after treatment. Results The score of KDWT (Z = -2.253, P < 0.05) and the pass time in VFSS (t > 2.4265, P < 0.05) improved more in the treatment group than in the control group after treatment, as well as the incidence of effect (Z = -4.113, P < 0.001). Conclusion Ultrasound therapy can further improve the function of swallowing based on the balloon dilatation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the preventive effect of psychological intervention combined with cod liver oil ointment on radiation nasal inflammation in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients. Methods 90 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2016 were randomly divided into study group and control group. The control group was treated with nasopharyngeal irrigation. The study group was given psychological intervention combined with cod liver oil ointment. Results The treatment effect of the study group was significantly better than that of the control group, and the incidence of radiation rhinitis was significantly lower than that of the control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups before the endoscopic score, the CT score of the sinus and the cilia transmission rate Improved, the study group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.05); before treatment, the two groups of patients with no significant differences in clinical symptoms, after treatment have been improved, the study group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion The application of psychological intervention combined with cod liver oil ointment in radiotherapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is beneficial to prevent radiation rhinitis and improve the function of sinus function.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate preliminarily the expression of P-glycoprotein(pGp),a multi-drug resistance gene-1 product,in patients with nasopharyngeal squamous carcinoma(NPSC) before and after radiotherapy. Methods:pGp was detected by immunohistochemistry with one monoclonal antibody JSB-1 before and after radiotherapy in fourty-eight patients with NPSC.None of them had received neoadjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Results:The positive rate of pGp expression in the patients with NPSC before radiotherapy was 18.75%(9/48).But the positive expression rate of pGp after radiotherapy was 75.00%(36/48).pGp expression rate after radiotherapy was significantly higher than that before radiotherapy( P
