ABSTRACT

A nivel mundial, el cáncer gástrico (CG) es la segunda causa más frecuente de muerte por cáncer. Otros tipos histológicos como linfomas y sarcomas son menos frecuentes, resultando aún más infrecuente, el desarrollo sincrónico de un adenocarcinoma con un tumor del estromal gastrointestinal (GIST). En este trabajo se documentan dos casos de pacientes con Adenocarcinoma Gástrico concomitante con Tumor del Estroma Gastrointestinal, con diferente presentación clínica. El primero de ellos se trata de paciente femenino de 76 años de edad quien acude por síntomas dispépticos con Ca gástrico precoz IIc + III, la paciente se somete a gastrectomía subtotal radical y en la pieza quirúrgica adicionalmente se observa lesión elevada subepitelial en cuerpo con curva menor que mide 0,6 cm, al corte la lesión compromete la capa submucosa, tratándose de tumores sincrónicos con histogénesis diferente. Y el otro caso se trata de paciente femenino de 66 años de edad acude por pesquisa, con un tumor de colisión.


Worldwide, gastric cancer (GC) is the second most frequent cause of death by cancer. Other histological types as lympho- mas and sarcomas are less frequent, resulting even rarer, the synchronous development of adenocarcinoma with a tumor of the gastrointestinal stromal (GIST). In this work are documented two cases of patients with gastric Adenocarcinoma concomitant with Gastrointestinal stromal Tumor, with different clinical presentation. The first of these is 76-year-old female patient who goes by dyspeptic symptoms with early gastric Ca IIc + III, the patient undergoes radical subtotal gastrectomy and the surgical specimen additionally shows subepithelial elevated lesion on gastric body with lesser curvature measuring 0.6 cm, histopathological evaluation showed that the gastric cáncerinvasión was confined to thethe submucosal layer, case of synchronous tumours with different histogenesis. The other case is 66-year-old female patient who came to our gastric cáncer screening and we found a colission tumor in the stomach.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate value of peripheral NLR and PLR for the survival of patients with primary gastric cancer.Methods The clinical data of 132 primary gastric cancer patients and 30 healthy controls were analyzed by the Kaplan-Meier, Log-rank test and multivariate COX regression.Results NLR, PLR levels of the case group were significantly higher than that in the healthy control group (t=6.67, P=0.000;t=13.23, P=0.000); the higher the age, the greater tumor diameter, the higher the degree of differentiation, lymph node metastasis, and not be treated with surgery, NLR and PLR could increase (P<0.05);NLR and PLR showed a significant positive correlation (r=0.3164, P=0.0002);survival time of low NLR group was (57.59 ±2.23) months and high NLR group was (35.22 ±3.09) months(P<0.05);survival time of low PLR group was (54.09 ±2.66) months and high PLR group was (35.22 ±2.75 ) months(P<0.05);age, clinical stage, lymph node metastasis and NLR, PLR levels were independent factors for the overall survival in patients with gastric cancer ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusion NLR and PLR of gastric cancer patients increase significantly and are closely related to tumor size, metastasis, clinical stage, and the deterioration, which showes some predictive value for the survival prognosis of the patients.

ABSTRACT

Objectives:To study the methionine dependence (Met-dependence) of human primary gastric cancer cells in vitro when Met in the culture medicine was replaced by its precussor homocysteine(Hcy). Methods:Fresh and sterile gaotric cancer samples and normal gastric mucosa were managed into single-cell suspension and were cultured in the Met -Hcy + and Met\++ Hcy\+- medium separately.proliferation of these cells in the two different culture media was examined by cell counter and flow cytometry (FCM). Results:In the Met\++Hcy\+- medium,the growth of primary gastric cancer cells was inhibited,manifesting that the percentage of G 0G 1 tumor cells decreased and that of the S phase increased signiflcantly.However,normal gastric mucosal cells grew well and their cell cycles had no change. Conclusions:Human primary gastric cancer cells are Met dependent in vitro whereas normal gastric mucosal cells have no similar results.

ABSTRACT

Methods:Fresh and sterile gastric cancer samples were managed to single cell suspensions and then were cultured in Met -Hcy + and Met +Hcy - medium separately,the proliferation of tumor cells in different culture media was examined by microcytotoxicity(MTT) assay.Meanwhile,the inhibition rate of tumor cells by ADM、DDP、5 FU、MMC and MTX in Met -Hcy +medium was separately tested. Results:①In Met -Hcy + medium,the human primary gastric cancer cell decreased;②Methionine deprivation in combination with chemotherapy enhanced obviously the killing capacity of each chemotherapeutical agent. Conclusions:①Human primary gastric cancer cells in vitro appears Met dependent.②The combined application of Met -Hcy + medium and different chemotherapeutical agents could enhance the antitumor effect of chemotherapy on primary gastric cancer cells.③MTT assay was an efficient way to examine the sensititivity of methionine starvation therapy combined with individualized chemotherapeutical agents.
