ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the predictive value of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) on cardiovascular events in elderly patients with diabetes, and to provide theoretical guidance for the prevention of cardiovascular disease in elderly patients with diabetes. Methods A total of 180 elderly patients with diabetes treated at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Hubei Jianghan Oilfield General Hospital from June 2019 to June 2020 were selected. According to the LDL-c level, they were divided into low-risk group (LDL-c 0.05). The serum TG, TC, and LDL-c levels, and Gensini scores in the high-risk group were significantly higher than those in the low-risk group, and the serum LDL-c level in the high-risk group was significantly lower than that in the low-risk group (P2=7.500, P<0.05). Spearman correlation analysis showed that LDL-C was positively correlated with the incidence of MACE (r=0.781, P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that LDL-c≥2.6mmol/L was an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease in elderly diabetic patients (P<0.05). The area under ROC curve for LDL-c to predict cardiovascular events in DM patients was 0.814 (95%CI:0.767~0.912), and the sensitivity and specificity were 78.40% and 84.80%, respectively. Conclusion LDL-c level is significantly increased in elderly patients with diabetes, and LDL-c≥2.6 mmol/L is of certain value in predicting cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To study risk factors in senile diabetics complicated with urinary tract infections and find out measures to cut down the incidence rate with urinary tract infection.METHODS The age, sex, hospital day, course of diabetes, blood sugar level and catheterization in 181 hospital patients of senile diabetics complicated with urinary tract infections from 2004 to 2007 were analyzed retrospectively.RESULTS The incidence of senile diabetics complicated with urinary tract infections was closely related with age, sex, hospitalization days, course of diabetes, blood sugar level and catheterization.CONCLUSIONS Control measure for risk factors in senile diabetics can actively cut down the incidence rate of urinary tract infection.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the effects of traditional Chinese medicine Baoyuanhuoxue Granula on the state of senile type Ⅱdiabetes before thrombus. Methods: 60 cases of selected senile type Ⅱdiabetes patients were divided into two groups, trial group(treatment with routine western medicine added Baoyuanhuoxue Granula;30 cases) and control group(treatment with simple western medicine; 30 cases). After two months, the changes of expression rate of blood viscosity, nail fold microcirculation and platelet aggregation,D-D,CD-62p and PAC-1 of patients in two groups before and after treatment were observed. Results: Baoyuanhuoxue Granula can reduce the expression rate of blood viscosity, platelet aggregation,D-D,CD-62p and PAC-1 obviously, and can improve nail fold microcirculation. Conclusion: Baoyuanhuoxue Granula can improve the state of senile type Ⅱdiabetes before thrombus.

ABSTRACT

In view of Inner Canon of Huangdi, deficiency of heart-QI and blockage of blood circulation is one of basic physical features in senile people. The senile diabetics have more risks in developing into pathogenesis character of deficiency of qi and blood stasis. In Clinic,it could be found by macroscopic syndrome and microcosmic examination. So we prefer that benefiting Qi for activating blood circulation method could be used to amelioration heart systole and diastolic function in elderly diabetes patients to improve their life qualities.
