ABSTRACT

Objective: To study the constituents of the leaves of Dysoxylum binectariferum. Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated by various column chromatographic methods, and their structures were identified on the basis of MS and NMR spectral analysis. Results: Five steroids were obtained and their structures were elucidated as stigmast-4(5)-en-3β,6β,22-triol (1), stigmast-5(6)-en-3β,21,22-triol (2), 2α,3β,4β-trihydroxypregnan-16-one (3), 2α,3β-dihydroxy-4β-acetoxypregnan-16-one (4) and 2α,3β-dihydroxypregnan-17(20)-en-16-one (5). Conclusion: Compound 1 is identified as a new compound and named dybinstigm A. Compounds 2-5 are obtained from D. binectariferum for the first time.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents from the stem of the Clematis apiifolia. Methods: A variety of chromatographic Methods: were applied in isolation and purification including silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20 gel, and HW-40C and so on. Their structures were identified by the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectrometry and so on. Results: These compounds were isolated and determined as hederagenin (1), α-hederin (2), sapindoside B (3), stigmast-22-en-3β, 6β, 9β-triol (4), pleuchiol (5), stigmasterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (6), stimasterol (7), siderin (8), shikimic acid (9), ethyl-α-D-glucopyranoside (10), ethyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (11), D-gulonic acid (12), 3,5-dihydroxyl-4-valerolactone (13), 2-formyl-5-hydroxymethylfuran (14), uracil (15), uridine (16), tricosanol (17), triacontanol (18), hexacosanoic acid (19), and monostearin (20). Conclusion: All compounds are obtained from C. apiifolia for the first time including firstly reported compound 3 from Clematis plants and compounds 4, 5, 9-12 from Ranunculaceae family.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To study the chemical constituents of Alpinia coriacea. Methods: The chemical constituents were separated and purified by silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatographies, and preparative HPLC. Their structures were determined by physicochemical properties and spectral data analyses. Results: Fifteen compounds were isolated from A. coriacea, and identified as 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde (1), anisic acid (2), pinocembrin (3), apigenin (4), izalpinin (5), kaempferol (6), 5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy-flavanone (7), 3,5-dihydroxy-7,4'-dimethoxyflavone (8), α-tocospiro A (9), stigmast-4-ene-6α-ol-3-one (10), stigmast-4-en-3-one (11), 7-keto-β-sitosterol (12), (22E,24R)-5α, 8α-epidioxyergosta-6,22-dien-3β-ol (13), stigmasterol (14), and β-sitosterol (15). Conclusion: All compounds are isolated from A. coriacea for the first time, among which compounds 2,7, and 9-13 are isolated from the plants of Alpinia L. for the first time.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents from the Seeds of Nelumbo nucifera. Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated by repeated silica gel chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 gel columns chromatography, medium pressure column chromatography, and semi-preparative liquid chromatography, and their structures were elucidated by chemical properties and spectroscopic analyses. Results: Thirteen compounds were identified to be p-methoxyphenylacetic acid (1), quercetin-3-O-α-L- arabinoside (2), apigenin-6-C-arabinoside-8-C-glucoside (3), naringenin (4), stigmast-4-en-3-one (5), quercetin-3-methyl ether (6), vitexin (7), cosmoslin (8), quercetin (9), apigennin (10), luteolin (11), kaempferol (12), and astragalin (13). Conclusion: Compounds 1-3, 5 and 6 are obtained from the plants of Nelumbo Adans for the first time, and compound 8 is obtained from Nelumbo plumula for the first time.

To study the chemical constituents from the stems of Cipadessa cinerascens. The constituents were separated by column chromatography and their structures were elucidated by spectral data analyses. Seventeen chemical constituents were isolated from the EtOAc extract in the stems of C. cinerascens and their structures were identified as lanost-7-en-3-one-22, 25-epoxy-23, 24-acetone acetal (1), chisopanin M (2), 3β-hydroxy-5-en-stigmast (3), 7α-hydroxy-4-en-3-one-stigmast (4), 3β-hydroxy-5-en-7-one-stigmast (5), 7α-hydroxysitosterol (6), 22E-7α-methoxy-5α, 6α-epoxy-8 (14), 22-dien-3β-hydroxy-ergosta (7), 7β-hydroxy-4-en-3-one-cholest (8), 3β-acetyloxy-2β, 4β-dihydroxy-16-one-pregnan (9), 17α, 20R-dihydroxy-3, 16-dione-pregnan (10), 2β, 3β-dihydroxy-16-one-pregnan (11), 3β, 7α-dihydroxy-20-one-pregnan (12), 2α, 3β-dihydroxy-5-en-20-one-pregnan (13), 1, 4-dien-3, 16-dione-2-hydroxyandrosta (14), 5-en-17-one-3β, 16β-dihydroxyandrost (15), apegenin (16), and annuionone D (17). Conclusion All the compounds except 14 and 17 are obtained from this plant for the first time.

ABSTRACT

To study the non-alkaloid constituents from the stems and leaves of Ochrosia borbonica. The chemical constituents were separated and purified by silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, ODS column chromatographies, and preparative HPLC. Their structures were determined by physicochemical properties, spectral data, as well as comparison with the data in literature. Fifteen compounds were isolated from the petroleum ether fraction of 70% ethanol extract from the stems and leaves of O. borbonica, and identified as lupeol (1), lupine ketone (2), betulinic alcohol (3), betulinic acid (4), ursolic acid (5), 2α, 3β-dihydroxy-ursolic acid (6), 11, 12-dehydroursolic acid lactone (7), β-amyrin (8), oleanolic lactone (9), alphitolic acid (10), friedelin (11), cholesterol (12), 24R-ethyl-5α-cholestane-3β, 6α-diol (13), stigmast-7-en-3β-ol (14), and β-sitosterol (15). All the compounds are isolated from the plants of Ochrosia Juss. for the first time.

Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents of Daphne gracilis. Methods: The constituents were separated and purified by chromatographic methods and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and chemical analyses. Results: Fifteen compounds were obtained and identified as β-sitosterol (1), friedelin (2), stigmast-4-ene-3-one (3), stigmast-4-ene-3, 6-dione (4), lupeol (5), stigmasterol (6), 1, 3-distearate glycerol (7), glycerin-docosanate (8), octadecanol (9), phytol (10), dehydrodiconiferyl alcohol (11), epoxyconiferyl alcohol (12), oleodaphnone (13), 14-gingerol (14), and matairesinol (15). Conclusion: All the compounds are isolated from the plants of D. gracilis for the first time. Among them, compound 2-4, 7-9, 11, 12, and 14 are isolated from the plants in Daphne L. for the first time; Compounds 11, 12, and 14 are isolated from the plants of family Thymelaeaceae for the first time.

Results: Fifteen compounds were obtained and identified as loliolide (1), (3S, 5R, 6S, 7E)-5, 6-epoxy-3-hydroxy-7-megastigmene-9-one (2), 7α-hydroxy-β-sitosterol (stigmast-5-ene-3β, 7α-diol) (3), stigmast-4-ene-3β, 6α-diol (4), 6'-palmitoxyl-β-daucosterin (5), β-sitosterol (6), daucosterol (7), balanophonin (8), pinoresinol (9), xanthatin (10), xanthinosin (11), xanthienopyran (12), p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (13), 3-methoxy-4-hydroxy-transcinnamaldehyde (14), and quercetin (15). Conclusion: Compounds 1-5 are obtained from the plants in Xanthium L. for the first time, and compound 8 is isolated from this plant for the first time.

Methods: The constituents were isolated and purified by silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and preparative TLC. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectral data and physiochemical characteristics. Results: Fourteen compounds were isolated from 95% ethanol extracts and identified as stigmast-4-ene-6β-ol-3-one (1), stigmast-4-ene-6α-ol-3-one (2), stigmast-4-ene-3-one (3), stigmast-5-ene-3β-ol-7-one (4), stigmast-4-ene-3, 6-dione (5), ergosterol peroxide (6), (20S)-3-oxo-hydroxytaraxastane (7), anabellamide (8), aurantiamide acetate (9) palmarumycin BG1 (10), 7-oxodehydroabietic acid (11), coniferyl aldehyde (12), S-(+)-dehydrovomifoliol (13), and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzoic acid (14). Conclusion: Compounds 2, 5, and 7-13 are reported from the plants in genus Ficus Linn. for the first time. All compounds are isolated from this plant material for the first time.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To study the chemical constituents of the whole herb of Flickingeria fimbriata (B1.) Hawkes. METHODS The compounds were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH - 20. Their structures were identified by analysis of physicochemical characteristics and spectroscopic evidence and confirmed by comparison of their spectral data with those in the literature. RESULTS: Ten compounds were isolated and identified as pentacosanol(1), 7α-hydroxysitosterol(2), stigmast4-en-3-one(3), 6β-hydroxystigmast4-en-3-one(4), 5α-stigmastan-3-one(5), β-sitosterol(6), ergota-4, 6, 8(14), 22E-tetraene -3-one (7), β-amyrin(8), stigmasta4-ene-3β, 6β-diol(9), and n-tetracosyl ferulate(10), respectively. CONCLUSION All compounds are isolated for the first time from the genus Flickingeria.

METHODS: The constituents were isolated and purified by chromatographic methods and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and physio-chemical analysis. RESULTS: Thirteen known compounds was isolated and identified as physalin A (1), physalin B (2), physalin E (3), physalin P(4), stigmast-5-en-3β-ol (5), ergost-5, 24 (28) -diene-3β-ol (6), brassicaaterol (7), stigmasta-22-en-3, 6-dione (8), pregn-5-en-3-ol-20-carboxylic acid (9), ergost-5, 24 (28)-diene-3β, 23S-diol (10), ergosta-5, 25 (26)-diene-3, 24ξ-diol(11), n-hexade-canoic acid (12), and n-heptadecanoic acid (13). CONCLUSION: All of the compounds except 2 and 3 are isolated from this plant for the first time, and compounds 5-10 and 12-13 are isolated from Physalis for the first time.

Results: Eleven compounds were obtained and elucidated as (24R)-stigmast-7, 22(E)-dien-3β- ol (1), daucesterol (2), stigmast-3, 6-dione (3), epidioxyergosta-6, 22-dine-3β-ol (4), stigmasterol (5), soya-erebroside II (6), oleanolic acid (7), bis-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (8), scopoletin (9), betulimicaciol (10), and soya-erebroside I (11). Conclusion: The compounds 1, 3, 4 and 6-11 are isolated from the plants of Humulus Linn. for the first time.

ABSTRACT

Three components have been isolated from Zebrina pendula Schnizl and identified as ?-sitosterol, 3?, 5?, 6?-trihydroxy stigmast and succinic acid. As a result the anti-tumor rate were 43% (160mg/kg)for succinicacid, 91% (100mg/kg) for ?-sitosterol and 98%(100mg/kg) for 3?, 5?, 6?-trihydroxystigmast, respectively, after anti-cancer test of ascites type-180 sarcoma of mice. It was found that the last hadn't toxicity when its dose was increased.
