ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the insulation effect of the coating so as to relieve the influence of solar overtemperature on the tent system.Methods The tent had an integrated structure with multi cavity and air column support,and the confined space was composed of the dual-layer tent body.There were 4 measuring points in the tent,of which,one was at the filter vent,two ones at the ceiling lamp and the remained one above the curtain in the buffer area.The tent was deployed in summer outdoor environment,four thermographs were used for real-time recording of intemal temperature changes in the tents with or without coating,and the recording began at 8:00 am and stopped at 5:00 pm.Comparison proved there was no significant differences between the measured values by the four thermographs (P>0.05),and correlation analysis was executed based on numerical trend and variance analysis.Results The coating tent had the internal temperature lower than that in the non-coating tent,which had low mean temperature and low temperature range.The internal temperature in the coating tent was lower than ambient temperature at noon and afternoon,which meant the coating tent could lower the temperature effectively even in the duration at high temperature.Concusion Thermal insulation coating applied to the tent relieves the solar overtemperature effect effectively,and thus enhances the the tent's thermal environment adaptability.

ABSTRACT

Asbestos is a human carcinogen, and prohibited to use in 55 countries. Thermal power plants, construction industries, locomotive repair shops and analytical laboratories in Mongolia use asbestos as thermal insulation material. This study investigated exposure to airborne asbestos in workplaces. Total of 85 air sampleswere collected from thermal power plants (n=4), locomotive repairshop (n=1), construction renovation workplace (n=1), construction material shop (n=1) and analytical laboratory (n=1).The air samples were collected and analyzed by NIOSH 7400 and 7402 standard analytical methods. The average of airborne asbestos concentration (0.72f/cm3) in the workplaces was 7.2 times higher than the occupational exposure limit (0.1f/cm3). Exposure to airborne asbestos was exceeded in insulation workplaces of the thermal power plants and locomotive repairshop.Airborne asbestos was detected from construction renovation worksite, construction material shop and analytical laboratory, but did not exceeded the occupational exposure level.

ABSTRACT

Climate may be described as refined weather. The meteorologist notes the day-to-day variations of the weather components, extracts the principal frequencies which then describe the seasons, and once the average values have been derived over long periods of time, there emerges the concept of climate. Advances in preventive and curative medicine are such that man is left virtually with only his two oldest enemies to combat: his fellow men and the environment and he will be able to give better attention to the former if the latter is neutralised by the supply of suitable clothing designed to keep him comfortable.


El clima puede describirse como el tiempo refinado. El meteorólogo ha observado día tras día las variaciones de los componentes del tiempo, ha extraído las frecuencias principales que entonces describen las estaciones, y una vez que los valores promedios han sido derivados durante un largo período de tiempo, surge el concepto de clima. Los adelantos en la medicina preventiva y curativa son tales que el ser humano se ha quedado virtualmente enfrentando sólo a sus dos enemigos más viejos: sus prójimos y el medio ambiente. Podrá entonces prestar más atención a los primeros, si logra neutralizar el segundo mediante el suministro de ropa convenientemente diseñada que le provea confort.

ABSTRACT

O experimento foi realizado em delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, em esquema fatorial 2x2, para avaliar o efeito de época de ano, o tipo de forro de polietileno sobre as condições térmicas, de umidade e o desempenho de aves de corte. Foram utilizados quatro aviários, cada um dividido internamente em quatro boxes para alojar 200 aves cada. As variáveis de desempenho avaliadas foram peso vivo, ganho de peso, consumo de ração, conversão alimentar e mortalidade das aves do nascimento ao 42º dia de idade. O desempenho das aves foi melhor com aviários com forro. As condições térmicas foram melhoradas cm a utilização de forro nos aviários


This experiment was carried out in a completely randomized experimental design, factorial arrangement 2x2, to evaluate the effect of period of year and type polyethylene liming on thermal and humidity of aviaries and performance of broiler. Four aviaries were divided in four boxes to house 200 chickens each. The recorded performance traits were body weight, weight gain feed intake, feed:weght gain ratio and mortality from hatch to 42 days of age. Better thermal conditions and higher chicken performance were observed in the polyethylene liming aviaries

ABSTRACT

To check the thermal insulation effects of blankets and aluminum film, changes in temperature at the tympanic membrane and at the deep body of the dorsum manus and pedis were measured on healthy adult male subjects. No marked change in temperature was found at the tympanic membrane, implying no influence on the brain temperature. In both the blanket and aluminum film groups, the temperature at the deep body of the dorsum manus and pedis increased significantly, but the temperature increase rate was larger in the aluminum film group than in the blanket group. A particularly significant difference between the two groups was recognized in the temperature at the deep body of the dorsum pedis.<br>The above results revealed that aluminum film had a larger thermal insulation effect and weighed less than a blanket, so aluminum films is more useful than blankets as insulation material.
