ABSTRACT

RhD antigen is the most immunogenic antigens in the Rh blood group system and can cause hemolytic transfusion reactions (HTRs) and severe hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN). RhD-negative red blood cell (RBC) is a scarce resource in China, and RhD-negative patients face challenges in timely blood transfusion. For different populations that were initially negative for RhD (saline method), what techniques should be used, how to issue test report and when should " Asian type" DEL (RHD*01EL.01, c.1227G>A) be identified are the confusions of blood transfusion workers in the process of clinical blood supply. More than 200 technical experts discussed and reached a consensus on blood transfusion compatibility testing for Chinese population. The purpose of the consensus is to further standardize and refine the RhD blood group testing strategy, provide technical support for achieving accurate blood transfusion for patients with different RhD blood groups, continuously improve the levels of prevention and treatment for RhD-HTRs and RhD-HDFN, and lay a foundation for the future development of industry standards concerning RhD blood group testing strategy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To detect and analysis on serum infectious indicators in patients before receiving blood transfusion .Meth‐ods 5 790 patients admitted to the hospital from June 2012 to April 2015 to be treated with blood transfusion were enrolled in the study and underwent detections of various infectious indicators ,including Hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg) ,anti hepatitis C vi‐rus antibody(anti‐HCV) ,anti human immunodeficiency virus antibody (anti‐HIV) and anti syphilis helicoid antibody (anti‐TP) . The positive rate of infectious indicators in 5 790 cases of blood transfusion before transfusion ,the positive rate of infectious indica‐tors in different departments and the positive rate of infectious indicators in patients of different gender were calculated .Results The positive rate of HBsAg was the highest ,which was 18 .2% .The positive rate of anti‐HIV was the lowest ,which was only 0 .26% .In obstetrics and gynecology department ,the positive rate of HBsAg and anti‐HIV were the highest ,and the positive rate of anti‐HCV and anti‐TP were basically the same in each department .The positive rate of HBsAg ,anti‐HCV ,anti‐HIV and anti‐TP in male blood recipients before transfusion were higher than that of female ,the difference was statistically significant(P<0 .05) . Conclusion It is very necessary to detect the serum infectious indicators in blood recipients before blood transfusion ,which can ef‐fectively block the spread of infectious diseases such as hepatitis ,AIDS ,syphilis and so on and protect blood recipients and medical workers .

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the infection status of HIV-1 among blood recipients from 1994 to 1998 in certain areas of Hebei province. Methods A general investigation was set up among all the people in 15 townships of certain areas from November 2003 to February 2005. An epidemiological investigation was conducted among people who had received blood from donors, during 1994 and 1998. Blood samples were collected. ELISA was used in preliminary screening and Western-blot (WB) was used among people who showed a positive result in the preliminary screening. Results The infection rate of HIV-1 after blood receipt was 15.54% (92/592) , and the infected persons were all appeared in five medical centers of 6 townships which located at the west part of the area. HIV-1 infection happened over the years, and reaching the zenith in the year 1995. Most of the infected persons were young women. Procreation was the main cause of blood transfusion for women and trauma was for men. Conclusion A typical HIV outbreak happened in certain areas after blood transfusion in Hebei.
