ABSTRACT

Objective To detect the disinfectant-resistant geneqacA/B in the strains ofStaphylococcous aureus isolated from January 2014 to December 2014.Methods Fifty-one isolates were collected. PCR assay was used to detectmecA gene andqacA/B gene in the isolates followed byStaphylococcus protein A (spa) typing. Antimicrobial-resistant phenotypic typing was conducted to analyze the homology of theseqacA/B positive strains. The clinical information of the patients from whom the strains were isolated was collected to further understand the clinical background ofqacA/B-carryingS. aureus. Results The prevalence ofmecA and qacA/B genes was 21.6% (11/51) and 13.7% (7/51), respectively in the strains. The prevalence ofqacA/B gene in the methicillin-resistantS. aureus strains (54.5%, 6/11) was signiifcantly higher than that in the methicillin-sensitiveS. aureus strains (2.50%, 1/40). The prevalence ofmecA gene inqacA/B gene positive strains (6/7) was signiifcantly higher than that inqacA/B gene negative strains (1/7). TheseqacA/B positive strains were classiifed into 4 spa types (t037, t091, t932 and t895). The main type was t037 (4/7), which was from the pediatric ward. Conclusions The prevalence ofqacA/B gene is low in theS. aureus strains. However, the prevalence of this gene in methicillin-resistantS. aureus strains is far higher than that in methicillin-sensitiveS. aureus. spa type t037 may be a prevalent clone in pediatric ward.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To determine the distribution, drug resistance and presence of disinfectant- resistant gene qacE△1- sul1 of Acinetobacter baumannii. Methods: A.baumannii were identified by VITEK- automated microbial identification. Antibiotic susceptive test was carried out by Kirby- bauer (KB). The gene of qacE△1 in A. baumannii was analyzed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in 51 multidrug- resistant isolates. Results: 172 strains of the A.baumannii were isolated from January 2008 to November 2009. Susceptible factors were senility, seriousness of underlying disease and invasive operation with infection of A. baumannii. The resistance rate of A. baumannii to Imipenem was 11.1%, but the sensitive rate to the cephlospotins was very low. 49 of 51 strains were qacE△1- sul1 gene positive. Conclusion: The resistance rates to common antibiotic in A.baumannii are high and the resistance patterns are wide. There is high positive percentage of qacE△1- sul1 gene in multidrug- resistant A.baumannii.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the disinfectant-resistant gene qacA in Staphylococcus aureus isolates from the First Affiliated Hhospital of Chongqing Medical University. Methods A total of 126 S. aureus strains were isolated. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of 4 representative monovalent and bivalent disinfectants were determined. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was employed to analyze the prevalence of qacA gene in these strains. Disk diffusion method was used to identify methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA).Results Of the 126 S. aureus strains, 12 were positive for qacA gene. The prevalence of qacA in these strains was 9.5%. The prevalence of qacA gene in MRSA was 17.3%. Conclusions qacA gene is prevalent in the clinical isolates of S. aureus.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To study the drug resistance,drug-resistant genes and disinfectant-resistant genes of clinical MRSA isolates.METHODS The sensitivity to penicillin and other 15 antibacterial agents was detected in 56 strains of MRSA by K-B paper disk diffusion. The mecA gene of the ?-lactamase and disinfectant-resistant genes qac(A/B)were detected by PCR.RESULTS All of the 56 strains of MRSA were sensitive to vancomycin and teicoplanin.Drug resistant rate of sulfamethoxzole/trimethoprim,nitrofurantoin,rifampin,tetracycline,levofloxacin,clindamycin and azithromycin were 17.9%,23.2%,82.1%,87.5%,89.3%,92.9% and 96.4%,respectively.All of the 56 strains were resistant to erythromycin,gentamicin,amikacin,penicillin,ampicillin/sulbactam,cefoxitin and ampicillin. In all 56 strains of MRSA,54(96.4%)MRSA isolates were mecA positive and 31(55.4%)MRSA isolates were qac(A/B)positive.CONCLUSIONS Clinically isolated MRSAs is multi-drug-resistant and the qac(A/B)positive rate is very high.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To study the drug resistance,drug-resistant genes and(disinfectant)-resistant genes of(MRS)A.METHODS The drug resistance and mecA gene of the ?-lactamase and aac(6′)/aph(2″),aph(3′)-Ⅲ,ant(4′,4″) genes of aminoglycoside and qac(A/B) disinfectant-resistant genes were(detected) in 47 strains of MRSA.(RESULTS) In all 47 strains of MRSA,46 MRSA isolates were mecA positive,39 MRSA isolates were aac(6′)/aph(2″) positive,30 MRSA isolates were aph(3′)-Ⅲ positive,6 MRSA isolates were ant(4′,4″) positive, and 19 MRSA isolates were qac(A/B) positive.CONCLUSIONS MRSA is multiple-drug resistant. The main resistant mechanisms of MRSA to aminoglycosides and disinfectant are related to the drug-resistant genes of aminoglycoside and disinfectant-resistant genes.Clinic physician must pay attention to the diagnosis and(therapy) of MRSA,and control the hospital infection.
