ABSTRACT
In the Philippines, passive haemagglutination and soluble antigen fluorescent antibody tests using Dirofilaria immitis antigens were carried out on the sera of 33 patients infected with Wuchereria bancrofti and on the sera of 24 uninfected persons. False positives were as high as 70.8% indicating that in areas where the incidence of D. immitis in dogs is high, W. bancrofti antigens must be used. D.A.Cz.

Studies of the scalps from 42 patients with alopecia areala are given,using direct immunofluorescence ( DIP).Langerhans cells (LC)and T-lyrn hocytc subsets are observed.There is no significant difference between the number of OKT6 cells and Ia+ cells in the epidermis of all groups and the control.LC is seen in hair-bulb in many patients and most frequently in active stage.The main change of LC in hair follicle is increasing of T6+Ia- cells,not significant of T6+Ia+ cells.Most of the infiltrates around the hair follicles are T( OKT3+) cells.T4+cells number and T4/T8 ratio in active arc larger than in resting and recovering stages.DIF shows 88% of the patients having deposits of C3,IgG,and IgM.This suggests that alopecia areata may be the disorder of immnue associated with cellular and humoral immunity.

Two isolates of Plasmodium jalcipanm from Hainan Province were cloned by limiting dilution method and eight clones were established. Some characteristics including drug sensitivity and antigenicity of these clones were observed. The results showed that the established clones were different from each other in chloroquine sensitivity and antigenicity. The ID50 of chloroquin3e against 6 clones from isolate Fcc-7801 varied between 60.60 and 13.08 nmol/L The ID50 of chloroquine against 2 clones from isolate Fcc-1 were 93.63 and 49.64 nmol/L, respectively. According to the indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) Teactivity of these clones with a panal of murine anti-gpl95 McAbs, 8 clones could be divided into 5-serotypes, 3 of which were consistent with the Ⅴ , Ⅵ, Ⅶ serotypes devided by J. S. McBride (1985).
ABSTRACT
This paper reports the method for detecting the antibodies to epidemic hemorrhagic fever (EHF), compared with the method of IFA. The results were satisfactory, We found that the antibody positive rate detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in the patients with early EHF was significantly higher than that by IFA. It was noticed that the antibody titer of those patients who were in the early stage of fever was twice to four times higher than that by IFA. The method reported here might be a useful technique for clinical diagnosis and epidemiological reseach and for the country doctors.
ABSTRACT
In 78 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), the local immune response in cancerous tissue was investigated using immunofluorescent method with specific antisera and histochemical technique. In addition, analysis of clinical and postoperative follow-up information was also done to explore its clinical significance. The results indicate that the intensity of local immune response is closely correlated with clinical staging of HCC, tumour size, hepatic metastasis and cancerous thrombosis. The local immune response can represent the host immune function against HCC and directly influence the prognoss. It can provide a valuable reference for predicating the prognosis clinically and selecting correctly general immunotherapy after operation
