ABSTRACT

@#AIM: To investigate the effect of retinal vascular diameter on arterial stiffness of the participants stratified by age.
METHODS: Participants who took part in the 2014(fourth)physical examination and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(baPWV)and fundus color photography were observed. According to the WHO criteria of age, participants were divided into 3 groups by age: 18-44 years old group, 45-59 years old group and above 60 years old group. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the association between central retinal artery equivalent(CRAE)and arteriole-to-venule ratio(AVR)with baPWV in the total participants and then stratified by age. Multivariate Logistic regression model was use to analysis the influence of CRAE on arteriosclerosis(baPWV≥14.00m/s)in the total participants and then stratified by age.
RESULTS: CRAE and AVR decrease with age, in the non-atherosclerotic people. In multivariate linear regression analysis, CRAE and AVR were defeat correlated with baPWV in the 45-59 years old group and above 60 years old group. For each increase of 1 unit of CRAE and AVR, baPWV decreased by 0.01m/s, 0.02m/s, 1.99m/s and 5.58m/s, respectively. In multivariate Logistic regression analysis, the risk of arteriosclerosis decreased with the increase of CRAE by 1μm in the 45-59 years group and above 60 years old group. The OR values(95% CI)were 0.99(0.98-0.99)and 0.98(0.97-0.99), respectively.
CONCLUSION: In the 45-59 years old group and above 60 years old group, CRAE and AVR were negatively correlated with arterial stiffness, and their increase was the protective factor of arteriosclerosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of vascular inner diameter and artery flow velocity on the flow of internal arteriovenous fistula. Methods Sixty-two patients received the operation of internal fistula were enrolled. According to the inner diameter (Group A: d ≤ 1.5 mm, Group B: 1.5 mm 3.0 mm), the patients were divided into four groups in terms of artery flow velocity (Group a: v ≤ 20 cm/s, Group b:20 cm/s 100 cm/s), the differences of fistula and dialysis flow for two months were analyzed among various groups. Results Compared with Group B/b, patients in Group A/a had higher risk of operation failure, with lowered inner fistula flow and dialysis flow. In terms of inner venous diameter , there were significant differences between Group B and C. Conclusions It is not recommended to carry out the inner vascular fistula operation. Followed with the thickening and increasing of inner artery diameter and artery flow , the inner fistula flow and the dialysis flow increase. The inner venous diameter has no significant impact on the inner fistula flow.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect and clinical value of color Doppler ultrasound detection of blood flow parameters and vascular diameter in carotid artery and vertebral artery. Methods 150 healthcases were collected as the study objects.According to the age and gender differences, making a detailed classification, color Doppler ultrasound was used to detected the internal carotid artery, vertebral artery and the carotid artery. Results As age grows, the blood flow velocity decreases, and the pulsatility index( PI) and resistance index( RI) has no obvi-ous relation with age; There were positive correlation between the diameter of the carotid artery and vertebral artery and age( P<0.05) ,and the male population the diameter of the carotid artery was significantly wider than that of the female population(P<0.05),left vertebral artery diameter was significantly wider than that of the right side(P<0.05).Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound detection can let us get detailed carotid and vertebral artery anatomy and blood supply of information, which is good to diagnosis cerebrovascular disease.

ABSTRACT

Retinal vessel is the only visible vessels in human body and systemic microvascular lesions could be evaluated by the degree of retinal vessels. ln this article, the progress of retinal vascular caliber measuring method and its influencing factors were briefly reviewed.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the relationship between liver fibrosis degree and widths of portal vein(TPV) and spleen vein(SPV).Method Liver specimens from 151 patients with chronic viral hepatitis were divided into 4 groups from S 1 to S 4 according to the liver fibrosis degree. The diameters of TPV and SPV were measured by ultrasonic B.Results The diameters of TPV and SPV of groups S 1,S 2,S 3 and S 4 were (11 89?1 39)mm and (5 78?1 33)mm,(12 22?1 19)mm and (6 25?1 28)mm,(12 43?1 26)mm and (7 03?1 54)mm,(13 07?1 23)mm and (8 0?1 80)mm,respectively.The differences of diameter of TPV between group S 4 and group S 1,S 2 were significant(all P
