ABSTRACT

Angiostrongyliasis cantonensis is an emerging infectious disease in China. Snails are intermediate hosts of Angiostrongylus cantonensis and play a critical role in the transmission of angiostrongyliasis cantonensis. Detection of A. cantonensis in snails is an important part of epidemiological surveys. Currently, the rapid developments in the techniques for detection of A. cantonensis in snails facilitate the surveillance of angiostrongyliasis cantonensis and provide an important support for angiostrongyliasis cantonensis prevention and control. This review summarizes the advances in the techniques for detection of A. cantonensis in snails.

ABSTRACT

@#There are eight forms of vitamin E in human blood, including α-, β-, γ-, δ-tocopherols and α-, β-, γ-, δ-tocotrienols. As the most abundant and active form of vitamin E, α-tocopherol is widely accepted as a reliable indicator for nutritional assessment of body vitamin E status across the world. Considering that different vitamin E forms have diverse biological activities, separation and detection of different vitamin E forms in human blood facilitates the understanding of the association between vitamin E and diseases. In this review, the advances in sample-pretreatment techniques and detection techniques for vitamin E in human blood were presented. Currently, the sample-pretreatment techniques include solid-phase extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, dispersive liquid-phase microextraction, supported liquid extraction and direct protein precipitation; the detection techniques include automatic biochemical analysis, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, gas chromatography, liquid chromatography and ultra-high performance supercritical fluid chromatography mass spectrometry. This review summarizes the characteristics and scope of above-mentioned techniques used for detection of vitamin E in human blood, so as to provide insights into the selection of an appropriate method for inspection technicians.

ABSTRACT

The morbidity and mortality of lung cancer are the highest in China, and the non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) is the first one, accounting for about 80% of lung cancer.NSCLC includes squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, etc.Because of the slow growth of lung cancer cells and the late diffusion and metastasis, most of the patients were in late stage and lost the best period of surgical treatment.In recent years, molecular targeted therapy for specific genes has become an important strategy for the treatment of NSCLC.Multiple target genes, such as EGFR, KRAS, BRAF and EML4-ALK have been identified.This article reviews the related driving genes and molecular targeted therapy of NSCLC, expecting to be helpful to the individualized treatment of advanced NSCLC patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the hygroscopic characteristics and its modification mechanism of extract spray powders of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound formula, and provide basis for the key technical improvement of TCM solid preparation. Methods Gubi extract powders were taken as a model drug. The spray-drying technology was applied to Gubi water extract stock solution, water extract alcohol precipitation intermediates, and water extract alcohol precipitation intermediates containing different surfactants to get different extract powders. The microscopic pharmaceutical properties of these aboved Gubi Granules powder were characterized by powder fluidity testing and scanning electronic microscope technology; Different surfactants were adopted to study the hygroscopicity modification of water extract of alcohol precipitation intermediates, and then low field nuclear magnetic resonance technology (LF-NMR) was introduced to analyse the content, phase, distribution, and structure information of the water molecules absorbed by the modified extract powders; The mechanism of hygroscopicity modification of TCM extract powders was explored. Results ln the spray drying process of extract powders, it can improve the powder hygroscopicity by adding with PEG1000, poloxamer 188, magnesium lauryl sulfate, etc. It was analysed by LF-NMR that the above-mentioned surfactant could decrease the moisture absorption of the extract spray powder by combining with hydrophilic groups or free water in the air. Conclusion The addition of surfactants has a good effect on the hygroscopicity of TCM extract powders, and the improvement mechanism is related to the state of water combination.

ABSTRACT

Objective To develop fast detection techniques for the diagnosis of gonococcal infections.Methods Prokaryotic expression vector for Neisserial surface protein A (NspA) was constructed using the NspA gene cloned by PCR.Mice were immunized with the renatured recombinant NspA (rrNspA)to prepare antibodies against NspA.Western blot and ELISA was used to analyze the binding of NspA antibodies to lysate of gonococcal cells or to intact gonococci.Results NspA antibodies that were prepared by the rrNspA expressed in E.coli could bind to rrNspA,the natural NspA existing in gonococcal cells,or intact gonococci.Conclusion RrNspA and its antibodies have potential value in developing fast diagnostic kits for gonococcal diseases.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are essential for establishing metastasis. Detecting CTCs can help clinicians detect early metastases or recurrences more effectively. Compared with traditional histological analyses and imaging, CTC detection has a much higher reproducibility and sensitivity and can provide more timely prognostic information in human breast cancer.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To study the secretion of catecholamine primary cultures of chromaffin cells from rat adrenal medulla were used.METHOD:Catechoalmines(norepinephrine,epinephrine and dopamine) were measured by high-performance liquid chromatography-electrochemical detection technique.RESULTS:Catecholamine released by chromaffin cells with in 20min without slimalus was (73.29±15.32) ng/106 cells.When acetylcholine,nicotine or muscarine was added,the secretion of catecholamine was then increased.CONCLUSION:Using high-performance liquid chromatography-electrochemical detection technique,we can detect sensitively catecholamine released by cultured rat chromaffin cells.
